This pattern is so nice. I love the way you used different stitches to create such a lovely hat. Thank you.
I love how you've done the brimless end. I have wanted away, different way so the end won't curl up. This is awesome. Thank you😊
THANKS so much Deborah! Your instructions are well paced, clear and concise. The section for KEY MOMENTS is Vital and AWESOMESAUCE! I have progressed surprisingly well and everyone LOVES what I make them!!! Thanks again!!!!
I'm addicted to the owl eye stitch 💜❤️ thank you so much for the videos 😊 hope you have a great day
Ok, you are amazing!
1) 3 rows of owl eyes 2) 2 rows of e-wrap ...just really enjoy this hat
Thank you so much for walking me through this entire hat. I really appreciate it. I am just beginning loom knitting. I love this pattern.
I guess I'm still technically a beginner, being that I've only done under 10 scarves and when I got into hats, I just could NOT find any tutorials that showed chain cast ons with the decreased bind off. I have looked ALL over RUclips and especially with hats, its kinda like "just do it this simple ugly way" i KNEW they could look better and u explain how. Now i can make quality hats for charities, u made me not give up... YOUR channel really is the best in so many ways. I'm sharing with everyone! Thank you for explaining so well about the effects of doing whatever u are doing. My owl eyes are beautiful💗 please keep doing project tutorials. We need YOU!
Hi hope all is well I just got over covit munch better now ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am so glad I found your channel. I have purchased a few different types of looms and can't figure out how to use them. Wanted to teach my daughter and now, thanks to you, we can try to learn together!!!
The owl hat reminds me of macrame owls in the 70s, so I chose to do this hat in 70s colors with Charisma yarn in Toadstool which has colors of that time: brown, green, gold, mushroom and turquoise. This has a retro vibe to it and will be funky and fun to wear. Now if I do this hat again I want to try it with a yarn that looks like the color of hemp which would be a lot like macrame yarn and it would be very 70s looking as well. I will have to do that. Thank you for helping with creative ideas on projects.
Not sure if anyone cares at all but I just hacked my friends Instagram account using instablaster. You can find it by Googling for instablaster account hacker if you wanna try it yourself
Had fun making this hat!!! Great instruction 😁
Very pretty hat! I love the colors. Thank you for the tutorial
Gorgeous pattern.
Thank you so much, just started
Favorite cast-on!
I am enjoying your creativity in blending stitches together. The other day I was fooling around with. Your owl eye stitch and thought to myself I wonder what this would look like if I added the purl after a row or 2 of owl eye. Never thought to combine the e wrap in two stitch. Cant wait for what you come up with next
thank you, it looks great after one row and i called that curvy wave and have a video for it. Two rows is nice to but i like the wavy action and the stretch of one row.
Wonderful!❤
Love this cast on!
Beautiful! 💕
❤
Yes very nice pattern. I would like to get a paper pattern sent to me. I don't have a computer.
i dont have a paper patterns.
Please sell your hats on Etsy. Beautiful
Thank you for your videos, you taught me a Lot. Wonder if you can show me how to make coasters?
I am busy moving so only working a bit on projects I already started.
Thanks for this very clear video. I was wondering if I can just do owl eye, without the other rows. I started a hat for my husband with a ribbed edge, but wanted something different. Would it look ok?
yes it would look fine
Thank you for you fast reply!
Can you do a shawl with this pattern I love how you do the instruction your great
I havent done a flat panel yet but I am planning one soon.
Can you use double strands of yarn if you don't have the #5?
of course and you can use a smaller gauge too if you want to use one strand of number 4.
Can you please do a video, showing small samples on different loom sizes, ie 1/2, 3/8, 5/8. Using the same stitch, so we can see the difference. I'm always unsure of the difference in loom sizes and how they will look. Thank you
just do swatches thats how to find out. i am too busy caretaking to do videos and if i manage to do more it will be mostly ones i just didn't finish or stitch videos.
Love ❤️
I LOVE THE PATTERN. IT IS VARY LOVELY...IS THERE A WRITTEN PATTERN I CAN GET??
I havent written it out but its very easy and the same pattern is used all the way through.
I really love that chain casting!
Question: could I just chain cast, purl one row, and ewrap (the standard way) the next row instead of doing the owl eye? Then purl one more row and carry on ewrapping? I'm about to do my first hat today and I'd like to chain cast/purl/ewrap/purl one colour, then just ewrap the rest of the beanie in a different colour. Would that work okay?
I'm brand new to loom knitting, and knitting in general, so I hope I explained that well enough. :)
yes you could and that should work fine. Ewrap is a twisted stitch so you would have to do purl with it at the beginning. it may not lay as as straight as how I did it but should be fine in a hat.
@@DeborahShaw thank you so much for your input! :)
When doing the first 3 rows of owl eye, is it continously or each time wrap peg one and then start owl eye?
continuous. You only to special wrap when you change stiches to keep holes from forming in your work.
Thanks for video! Every time you start the owl eye, you just wrap peg 1 once? Thanks!
Oops saw an answer to my question.. thanks!
you have to start somewhere, but each peg shou.d have 2 wraps on it.
do you always knit to the right? i am right handed but for some reason i knit to the left.
I knit to the right in the round.
just a suggestion we can see a lot of your black out fit but it is hard to see the full hat. Take a look at this video to see what I mean. thank you
As long as you can see how I am making it, thats all I aim for. But in new ones I could buy a new colour for background if i am making one in a similar colours.
I live in Nova Scotia. And was wondering if Michael’s is the best place to buy yarn.
Locally i buy at Michaels the prices are good. i do buy locally at a couple yean shops for nicer yarn though. Also on line is another way.
Can you do your stitches to the LEFT..
yes
I have only rectangular looms. Can I do this on that?
if your end pegs are spaced the same then yes...
Ok but what is the weight of your yarn for those of us not using the exact same kind....
it doesnt matter you can use any yarn with the right gauge for it., but all info will be in the video
Would it be bonkers to make an afghan with this stitch and similar yarn?
i made flat panel video of this stitch.
Your hats are so nice the way the colors stripe exactly how you need them to , in correlation with the loom. Is it because you designed it that way for that yarn or is there a trick you use? Lol
both, I pick the yarn with the colour formation for the stich and pattern
Mind. Blown. Tee hee.
If you told us the weight of the yarn, I missed it. Almost all of my yarn is 4 weight.
Charisma is a 5. You can use two strand of 4 on this gauge of loom, or if you have smaller gauge looms you can use one strand.
Question:
Can you use this stitch pattern for something other than a hat??
anything you want
Awesome!!!
Hi Deborah. I have a person that wants me to make her a child's blanket . and I have no idea how to charge for it . it's gonna be loom knitting and most like a rape because I'm probably gonna use a bulky baby blanket yarn . if you or anyone does blankets to sell gibe me a idea how much to ask cor it . probably 24 x30 ish.
a lot of people say to charge 3 times the price of yarn but you have to charge what will sell in your area.
Can a 41 or 48 peg loom be used
of course
Is owl eye stitch more for a woman. I want to make a hat that is not feminine for a guy
I had men who wore it.
