    I guess I'm still technically a beginner, being that I've only done under 10 scarves and when I got into hats, I just could NOT find any tutorials that showed chain cast ons with the decreased bind off. I have looked ALL over RUclips and especially with hats, its kinda like "just do it this simple ugly way" i KNEW they could look better and u explain how. Now i can make quality hats for charities, u made me not give up... YOUR channel really is the best in so many ways. I'm sharing with everyone! Thank you for explaining so well about the effects of doing whatever u are doing. My owl eyes are beautiful💗 please keep doing project tutorials. We need YOU!

    The owl hat reminds me of macrame owls in the 70s, so I chose to do this hat in 70s colors with Charisma yarn in Toadstool which has colors of that time: brown, green, gold, mushroom and turquoise. This has a retro vibe to it and will be funky and fun to wear. Now if I do this hat again I want to try it with a yarn that looks like the color of hemp which would be a lot like macrame yarn and it would be very 70s looking as well. I will have to do that. Thank you for helping with creative ideas on projects.

    I am enjoying your creativity in blending stitches together. The other day I was fooling around with. Your owl eye stitch and thought to myself I wonder what this would look like if I added the purl after a row or 2 of owl eye. Never thought to combine the e wrap in two stitch. Cant wait for what you come up with next

      thank you, it looks great after one row and i called that curvy wave and have a video for it. Two rows is nice to but i like the wavy action and the stretch of one row.

    I really love that chain casting!
    Question: could I just chain cast, purl one row, and ewrap (the standard way) the next row instead of doing the owl eye? Then purl one more row and carry on ewrapping? I'm about to do my first hat today and I'd like to chain cast/purl/ewrap/purl one colour, then just ewrap the rest of the beanie in a different colour. Would that work okay?
    I'm brand new to loom knitting, and knitting in general, so I hope I explained that well enough. :)

    • @DeborahShaw
      @DeborahShaw  4 года назад +1

      yes you could and that should work fine. Ewrap is a twisted stitch so you would have to do purl with it at the beginning. it may not lay as as straight as how I did it but should be fine in a hat.

    When doing the first 3 rows of owl eye, is it continously or each time wrap peg one and then start owl eye?

    • @DeborahShaw
      @DeborahShaw  4 года назад

      continuous. You only to special wrap when you change stiches to keep holes from forming in your work.

    Your hats are so nice the way the colors stripe exactly how you need them to , in correlation with the loom. Is it because you designed it that way for that yarn or is there a trick you use? Lol

    • @DeborahShaw

      both, I pick the yarn with the colour formation for the stich and pattern

      Charisma is a 5. You can use two strand of 4 on this gauge of loom, or if you have smaller gauge looms you can use one strand.

    Hi Deborah. I have a person that wants me to make her a child's blanket . and I have no idea how to charge for it . it's gonna be loom knitting and most like a rape because I'm probably gonna use a bulky baby blanket yarn . if you or anyone does blankets to sell gibe me a idea how much to ask cor it . probably 24 x30 ish.

    • @DeborahShaw
      @DeborahShaw  5 лет назад +1

      a lot of people say to charge 3 times the price of yarn but you have to charge what will sell in your area.
