Yesss!!! This is awesome ! !!! Banging my head against the wall as I sit here watching you create a masterpiece, LOL 😂😅for real though still a big fan of your channel , I've made several hats and scarves, this one is next, thanks again for teaching us.
After moving and finishing med asst school, Finally! I have had a chance to start this pattern. I'm using dark purple and turquoise colored worsted weights, so using 1 strand of each. Its turning out awesome of course.
I am new also and wool ease by lion brand is fantastic yarn. I can’t recommend it more highly because it worked up so fast I made 2 hats in one day. I am totally “hooked” on loom knitting. I really like this channel.
I was unable to loom knit for several years. I developed carpal tunnel. I recently had some PT and I am happy to say I am knitting and crocheting again. This was the first pattern I knitted in a little baby bennie when I picked my looms back up. It was a great pattern to just jump right back in with.
overthought it. took a deep breath and went for it. I'm a beginner and in the end this was adorable! I was working with a 40 peg loom and just laid it across the last peg and first/starter peg
I really like the way this instructor demonstrates how to do the stitches. I particularly like her voice tone as she talks through her method. The tone is even and calming which I need while learning how to do this. Thanks.
Just finished these beanie and I absolutely LOVE it! The brim turned out well. The entire beanie turned out well. As a beginner the results of this project were extremely rewarding. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
I enjoy watching your videos. I just got done making the scarf with pockets and found the video very easy to follow along with. Thank you for educating us beginner's!
I still consider myself a beginner... I have made 3 beanies with this pattern. I'm about to start my 4th! I love how easy this pattern is, it gives me a chance to perfect a hat. I also love that it starts bottom up. I tried doing the other version of this same rib stitch and it was a great hat except that when I tried to tighten it it just frayed the yarn on my brim. This one turns out so well. Thank you again for your patterns. After I do one or two more of these beanies I plan on moving onto another pattern of yours. ^_^
LOVE this!! I learned so much from this video and completed a beautiful hat even though I am not the most skilled loom knitter. Finally I can step away from the plain e-wrap knit hats with brims lol!
I love this pattern, I've made so many sideburns ones from others but yours is my favorite. I'm sick right now and I've made 4 while I'm sick so far. I'm going to try mir of your tutorials. Just love you girl!❤
Denise thanks for your videos. I’ve finally been able to successfully loom knit a few hats after watching your videos. I tried books and other videos without any luck. Keep them coming!
Your videos are the very best of all the loom knitting tutorials! I love how you weave all the great tips into the tutorial. I learned at least two things that make my work go faster and better. Thank you so much - it’s a lot of work to create these videos and they are appreciated!
I had been so frustrated trying to figure out how to maintain tension and get consistent stitches! Thank you so much for demonstrating how to do this in a consistent manner! With help from the video, I now feel as if I can come much closer to completing a project!
You got this! I tell - best thing to do is not worry too much about tension. Sometimes we make it worst by trying to fix it. www.loomahat.com/stitch-is-too-tight/
this is my favorite pattern so far. on my second hat already. as a beginner, it's easy to follow, and looks much better than just using e-wrap for the whole thing. thanks!
You are tooooooo funny Cheryl - I had to giggle and then of course share this comment with the hubby. I can tell you that there are times he would not agree with you my sister.
I had to make one right away. I used the smaller oval loom. It turned out nice. ❤ Wish I could put the picture here. Thanks, Denise, for all your hard work teaching all of us! One more pattern I love and already making a second hat with leftover yarn from the first.
Hello! Quick question-can this hat be made using #5 yarn? I’m making it for my brother to wear under his snowmobile helmet and wouldn’t want it too thick. Also less rows knitted if I don’t want it slouchy correct? Don’t think my brother would want it slouchy 😊 also he has a small head so could this be knit on a 36 peg loom? That was more than one question, sorry lol - thank you in advance - I am learning a lot from your videos and I am happy with that 😊❤️
So excited to try this one. I have struggled with having a clean brim edge on my other loom knit beanies. It's been the only issue I can't seem to figure out. Gonna start on this one tonight! Thank you thank you Denise for your awesome tutorials!
I've just finished my 3rd hat with this pattern. The last two were for my mom, who wanted a sleeping cap to keep her head warm. :) Love this pattern, it's so easy and so pretty!
Can't wait to try this , I love how your talking us through it all ☺️ the other videos I've done are good but yours is better . Thank so much for taking your time out your day to teach us🤗 God bless
@@LoomaHat even though I'm using similar loom and yarn this stitch was too loose. I'm doing u wrap in the odd rows and it's better, I'll send you a picture when I'm done!
Hi, I just finished making this. I love how the edge looks using this bind off. I have never done it before. It was difficult at first. I wanted to keep using the hook but it really mess up my yarn so I had to use the needle. But it turned out great. Now I have to run to the store and get enough matching yarn to make scarf lol. Thanks for the video. jlee
Jan - I really should have mentioned that the bind-off can be a bit difficult at first - soooo glad you didn't give up - it is SOooooo well worth learning
@@LoomaHat hi Denise, thanks for responding. I just made another hat tonight. Still awkward doing the bind off but I love it. And it looks great. I may never use smaller looms for hats again. Lol Now I have 2 hats to make scarves for. I have made a couple pair of your fingerless gloves. I might make some to match. Would the look okay with #5 yarn? Or do you think they would look too big? . Take care, jlee x
Just keep in mind that when you use heavier weight yarn the project is basically tighter or smaller depending on the stitch - in the case of the gloves (rib stitch) the yarn will make them bulkier and so tighter but only by a bit so it should still work out fine.
Great video. Thanks for showing how to use the needle for finishing off the last row. I was having trouble sorting out doing it with the hook but the needle is a breeze. Thanks again.
I like how you teach! Iknow this is an older video, could you update the supply information? What diameter / number of pegs loom did you use? Also, what yard is that?
I Denise I really like watching you make your project it's so relaxing I really want to learn how to put people names in my hats would you be willing to show us how to do that your very good at explaining things I'm watching while I am writing this so I'm excited how the hat turns out god bless 🙏 you Denise
Love it!!!! Denise yet another project of yours I will have to make!!!!!! Thank you for your tutorials!!!! I've been wanting to make hat's to donate...this is one of the patterns I will do
sorry for all the comments. could I use the way you started this hat but E wrap the rest of the hat and then end it the same way to achieve this sort of brimless hat?
So I have 36 pegs, an even number. How do I cast on properly? I keep restarting because my rows skip a stitch like a stitch is missing at the beginning
Really like this cast on! Will try this soon for teens that love these slouchy hats🤗 thanks for another great project! Also I recommended your channel & patterns a few times on Facebook looming/crafty groups I belong to, hope that's ok!
Beginner here and want to double check - your cast on first row is the drawstring for the top of the hat? Once you take the hat off I can't tell which is which. Other tutorials do the opposite. Thanks.
Can anyone tell me why my cast off left me without any stretch? I did exactly as she did but there’s zero stretch to the brim of the hat. I’d love an easy way to remedy this for my next one!
To confirm, the first and last stitch are always ewrap? I’m using a 41 peg loom like in the video, but am wondering how the pattern will repeat properly if the first and last stitch are always the same.
Great teacher!! 👌🏼I have a VERY big head (bigger than men’s, even) & love wearing toques but rarely find any that don’t feel too constrictive. Any tips (beyond using that biggest loom etc from video) for making an even bigger hat or looser fit. ie: maybe a certain yarn type/size or type of stitch or style, that may make looser. I’m brand new to this-ultimate beginner, btw. 😊
I love this hat, but the one I made is a little too loose to stay on my head securely. It would fit a man nicely, or a woman with large head size. What gauge is your loom and how many pegs?
I love to do this cast on so I can have a nicer brim on my hats, but I can never get it right enough when closing and I always have a big hole at the top of my hat. When I do the more traditional bottom-up style knit hats I do the bind off where you skip every other peg and it gives you the nice double layer spiral type of top. Is there any way to achieve that with a draw string cast on variation? It seems like I can either have a cute top or cute bottom, never both lol
I find that if you use the eWrap cast-on, the flat drawstring cast-off and you tighten the cast-on the project turns out beautiful - the cast-on and the cast-off. I do both on my recent video. You can use the two techniques with just about every hat project. Just watch it completely www.loomahat.com/marshmallow-mug-hats/
Just made this for a friend on the biggest loom I had. He has a big head but he says it is too tight. Any ideas on how I can make the bottom of the hat looser?
How do you tell what row you stop on? I am writing it down cause by looking at the wrong side I can not tell what row I stop on. Making the first one for me ….. like the slouchy look.

Will it be too big on the 41 peg or w4ill the 36 peg be too small for adult size hat
If I need make it a normal size not the long hat how many rows should I knit?
You would need to reduce the number of rows. I couldn’t make a row count suggestion without testing the pattern with less rows.
Hey Sista, do you have a pattern for making a kufi?
Thank you for the question. 💛 Not yet .
Hiya, Is It Possible To Do This Hat But Make It So It Sits In The Head, Not Slouchie?

Hi, Denise question for this project: I have a 40 peg loom. How do I wrap every other peg so it'll knit correctly?
Per your suggestion to "not stress" about using a 40 peg post, I only Ribbited cast on once, before I figured out how to. I have trouble keeping count, but am attempting to use my row counter. I'm using 3 Bernat velvet such a silky soft combination. Thank you for such specific, detailed directions.
