Made me smile. My fiesta has loads of faults as well.... I have to open the doors to get in and out. I have to fill with fuel every 350 miles or so. The automatic lights don't always come on if it is foggy. I have to clean it occasionally so that the blue paint is still visible. terrible car :-)
+AzNightmare Hi, very much not off boost, I love to put my foot down but I am very efficient when it comes to slowing down. I always turn the stop start feature off as I find it REALLY annoying. I have a spreadsheet and enter how much fuel I put in, how much it was and what the mileage is and it works out how many miles per gallon I get and how many miles average per fill. I haven't got the figures with me but I've had the car from new for nearly 23 months and per fill it averages 377 miles. Average MPG is just under 47 MPG but with a lighter foot I easily get 52 MPG or more. Traffic jams are where I seem to be let down. I wish Ford would link the engine up with an electric motor for pootling along in stop start traffic. I'd have the Toyota Yaris hybrid if it wasn't so ugly and had more ooph and didn't sound ridiculous when you put your foot down. :-)
goodchappy I'm not familiar with the stop start feature. Do you have the ST version? I've only had the car for about 2 months. I haven't accurately calculated my mileage with a spreadsheet, but that was my rough estimate.
+AzNightmare Yes, sorry I didn't state I have the 1 Litre 125BHP version which has start stop, don't think the ST has it. I'm also in the UK and gallons are larger than in the US.
That was actually pretty amusing lol. Only thing I disagree with as a fault is not having power seats. Don't have them on my GTI and I don't care.. just one less thing to stop working after a few years of use IMO.
Definitely agree about the manual seats. We have power seats in the company car at work and every now and then I drive it along with the other onsite guy. He's a giant and I'm apparently a lot shorter because I have to move the seat for what feels like ages and the motor always sounds like it's ready to give up. One day it will...
I hate power seats. So much quicker to move the seat manually, and as you said; less things to go wrong. Also, try to remove the seat on a Q7 or Touareg with a flat battery.... (They are installed below the driver's seat...)
Robert, You helped me get to the Doc a month or so ago, and you also sold me on a Fiesta ST. Finally found the perfect one last week and have been loving it. Thank you, and keep it up!
Hilarious video to watch, especially as a fellow Fiesta ST driver. However, you forgot about how the right windshield wiper looks "off" and isn't aligned with the bottom borderline of the front windshield and how it doesn't have side handlebars to grab onto near the top of each passenger's head like most cars. Some of my friends who often ride in my car always point these things out, especially the latter since I didn't opt for the Recaros ($2k was too much to justify for seats when on a budget although I know how nice they are), making it hard for them to brace themselves when I'm having a little fun with the car on twists and turns. The pros of the FiST definitely outweigh the few cons it has. Not one regret for me.
Why does this have so many dislikes? He is just ridiculing those automotive journalists who can't write the reviews without any minor faults of the vehicle. This guy does mimics the journalists perfectly well done. Good job dude.
I came damn close to buying a Fiesta ST. In the end I bought a 1999 Civic SI in mint condition. I figured there would be less depreciation and I could really drive an iconic car. One that would last a very long time as well.
#2 - you can actually lower the trunk floor a significant amount. There is a secondary lower notch for it, and you can even get it a bit lower than that by removing the of the hardware. #3 - Actually the gas pedal is kind of far from the brake. There is a mod to raise the gas pedal, and it also pushes it further left. #9 - oddly my antenna doesn't quite touch the trunk...but you can also buy shorter antenna. But yes...mostly you are on point.
So many people don't realize this is satire. You can see this in the commenters that either A) tell me I forgot to add some sort of flaw to the list or B) get absolutely furious at me because I said mean things about their car. No, I may not have been blatantly obvious or good with the satire, but there is a reason I only pointed out really silly things in this video like sport mode being off center. None of them are actual problems. Thank for watching and commenting. I apologize for the fairly lengthy reply, but I find the psychology of commenters on this video absolutely fascinating.
The lowest form? I would put word play, slapstick, and juvenile humor (rude humor?) below sarcasm. To be clear, I thoroughly enjoy word play. You're awfully critical for someone whom derives jollies from putting down anonymous internet peoples in comment threads.
(wow, some people don't get sarcasm eh? Get a life haters, there is bigger things to worry about!) You forgot that when you push the one-touch button to open the sunroof, it doesn't go all the way open. You have to manually open it the last inch. The forward lean of the rear headrests also makes it hard to get a car seat in. (luckily, they flip around)
+pinchvalve You are exactly right. Frankly, I am blown away at the number of people that think I'm being serious. Clearly, everything I point out is a joke.
Ha ha! Brilliant review! I want to trade my Lotus Elise for a more practical car and been looking for one of these and your video was the first review that popped up.
I just recently bought a 2011 Fiesta SES from a coworker, and.....it's better than the 2003 Saturn L200 I owned before that. Only paid $3000 CAD for it (compared to $1500 for the L200) and the only real work it needs is replacing the lower control arm and bearing on the front left. Had to literally cut off the rear left wheel well lining, though, because ice built up on it and ripped it to shreds (yes it's just thick cloth) before going under the wheel, bouncing us around the highway a bit. Oh, and the radio/CD player shorts out on long drives if you play CDs, because they put a really inefficient CD player on top of the heater, so you can't run both for any length of time. Also, the driver's seat's adjustable height slowly goes back down over the course of a few days. But hey, the Saturn had major electrical issues, the left control arm snapped in half, and the front sub-frame was rotting out so badly you could almost fit your arm in the hole. But, y'know, it only had 17,000km (not 170,000km, this was owned by an old lady) on it when we bought it and the brakes only massively failed twice. So this is an upgrade for me. lol
Nice video! Had a turbocharged Yaris , now I'm in love with these "dude that sold me the Yaris bought one", wish a rs would already be on the market...
Well I used to own a 1973 Porsche 914 and after a couple of "tweaks" the car became my beloved daily driver for 10 years! To hell with what people say. It is your experience that matters. And..... it was awesome in the snow!
haven't ran into the locking issue you did, but I have put 15k miles on mine so far, and have noticed most of the things you said, still wouldn't give it up, once the warranty runs out, I'm gonna see how it really gets up
Funny that a lot of people are this picky...and I understand...But yes you will quickly get over the little bad stuff about this car and then simply have a blast..I am considering getting one of these...Good and funny video keep it up.
+vestyman04 Get the Fiesta for two reasons, it is super lightweight and you feel every bit of horsepower that you gain from modding and if you drive a Focus, you don't stand out as much as the Fiesta with a nice exhaust.
I used to jump at these cars when they came available through Zipcar. When I moved back to the suburbs I bought a GTI SE. It comes with half a power seat. Reclining is power, but if you want to move the seat forward you are on your own, buster!
One more thing, you can't fit a full size set of golf clubs in the trunk. I have to lay them in down in the back seat or fold down one of 60/40 back seats and carefully slide them into the hatch/ seat opening.
Some of these I've noticed in my Fiesta ST, lol. The only thing that bugs me that he didn't mention is that the engine holds onto revs too long when you're upshifting.
When driving one I noticed this too, however I have noticed this in almost every newer made manual car. My Focus ST had it too. The worst I've seen is on the Civic Si. It often has rev overrun. Where rpms will actually increase and hang when pressing in the clutch.
The seats DO fold flat, you have to pull the bottom section of the seat up and then the backside of the seat sits flush (at least on my Focus ST) it does.
+Jeremy Gallus I just double checked mine. The seat bottom does not fold up on the Fiesta. The action is specifically forbade in the owner's manual. This is most likely because doing so would involve ripping the seat out
+Jeremy Gallus fiesta and focus are different, I don't think the seats not going flat is a deal breaker though. It is surprisingly spacious for what it is, nobody is going to a lumber yard and wanting to haul drywall with the fiesta, well at least they shouldn't. I did however manage to fit a 55" tv in it's box inside, and even managed to close the hatch.
I virtually never lock my doors, prefer manual seats, have a truck for hauling things, have my girlfriend’s car for hauling people, rarely drink in cars, and don’t use handbrakes unless I’m forced to or am driving irresponsibly... Yeah, I’m still buying one, haha!
My brothers 2011 Mustang has the most annoying front seats. To get in the back you have to tilt the back then move the seat with another lever as opposed to my old 1988 Prelude and current 2002 RSX seats that tilt and slide all in one motion.

Forgot to mention to soft paint and exterior, I somehow managed to scratch the WINDOW with what I thought was a clean soft microfiber cloth. Maybe your colour is better, Mine's black.
1:57 it took me literally 5 minutes to find that button when I took it for a test drive, the people at the dealership must have thought I was either VERY thorough or a complete buffoon.
Made me smile. My fiesta has loads of faults as well.... I have to open the doors to get in and out. I have to fill with fuel every 350 miles or so. The automatic lights don't always come on if it is foggy. I have to clean it occasionally so that the blue paint is still visible. terrible car :-)
+goodchappy *350 miles?? Are you staying off boost or something?*
*I get like 235-250 miles a tank.*
+AzNightmare Hi, very much not off boost, I love to put my foot down but I am very efficient when it comes to slowing down. I always turn the stop start feature off as I find it REALLY annoying.

That was actually pretty amusing lol. Only thing I disagree with as a fault is not having power seats. Don't have them on my GTI and I don't care.. just one less thing to stop working after a few years of use IMO.
+jtkent28 Oh yeah. None of these were actual gripes. I like having manual seats. They weigh less
+Aging Wheels BECAUSE RACECAR
Definitely agree about the manual seats. We have power seats in the company car at work and every now and then I drive it along with the other onsite guy. He's a giant and I'm apparently a lot shorter because I have to move the seat for what feels like ages and the motor always sounds like it's ready to give up. One day it will...
My 1990 Mercedes' power seats still work..Mostly! lol
I hate power seats. So much quicker to move the seat manually, and as you said; less things to go wrong.
Also, try to remove the seat on a Q7 or Touareg with a flat battery.... (They are installed below the driver's seat...)
manual seats are weight reduction bro

Tom Brooks - While we are on the topic this is what is wrong with Reagan

As a 2015 Fiesta ST owner. I watched this with a smile on my face.
Robert, You helped me get to the Doc a month or so ago, and you also sold me on a Fiesta ST. Finally found the perfect one last week and have been loving it. Thank you, and keep it up!
Don't forget to turn on the helicopter simulator by rolling down any one window while on the highway
hahahahah yes
Doom Guy bruh stopppp lmao
The off-center sport mode actually DID just kick me in my ocds.
Isnt sport mode just traction control off?

I came damn close to buying a Fiesta ST. In the end I bought a 1999 Civic SI in mint condition. I figured there would be less depreciation and I could really drive an iconic car. One that would last a very long time as well.

Great stuff! You can actually lower the cargo floor to a second, lower position! It's in the manual, page 142, check it out.
Being an ST180 (UK spec) owner, I can now say that you are my hero...
They're expecting that when a person sits in the back, they sit longways so there'd only be room for one
Nailed it. Love my Fiesta ST.
You've convinced me that I need one just for that antenna placement perfection👌
Im so confused why this video has so many dislikes. This is so great lol
So many people don't realize this is satire. You can see this in the commenters that either A) tell me I forgot to add some sort of flaw to the list or B) get absolutely furious at me because I said mean things about their car.

If you were a funny person you could maybe start telling some jokes.
Hey, that's a good idea! I've never thought of that before! Your suggestion has changed my views and life.
Aging Wheels See what I mean?! Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.
The lowest form? I would put word play, slapstick, and juvenile humor (rude humor?) below sarcasm. To be clear, I thoroughly enjoy word play.

This would make for an awesome series. To go through a bunch of cars and point out all of the flaws.
I gotta say i was disliking this video until you said get over it and revved the car.. i want one of these so bad i will get one soon
+Chris C I think a lot of people dislike the video because they don't reach the end. Thanks for not being one of those people!
+Chris C I got mine 2 weeks ago, and let me tell you that the car is just amazing at corners...
Pedro García Absolutely. I love everything about this car. Ford hit the nail on the head when it comes to fun
+Chris C Most fun car I've ever owned. What shortcomings?
Me too
Well I officially love this channel. Adorkable
I just recently bought a 2011 Fiesta SES from a coworker, and.....it's better than the 2003 Saturn L200 I owned before that. May be the best car video I’ve ever seen.
lol @ antenna boop. Made my day.
Thinks for ur review. Looking to get one of these this weekend. Been researching this for a month now going to take the plunge. Thanks again.....
Nice video! Had a turbocharged Yaris , now I'm in love with these "dude that sold me the Yaris bought one", wish a rs would already be on the market...
The handbrake got me 🤣 I swear it's so aggravating pulling the e brake with any drink in the cupholder
I can't help but like this guy. Enjoyable vid. Fun car. Thanks!
Made me huff air out of my nose in a rapid fashion. Well done
Well I used to own a 1973 Porsche 914 and after a couple of "tweaks" the car became my beloved daily driver for 10 years! To hell with what people say. It is your experience that matters. And..... it was awesome in the snow!

Thank you, that was funny. I, of course, expected something else when starting the video, so you got me. Have a good ride!
Excellent review, really funny it had me properly laughing. Owner Blue Fiesta ST3 (UK 3dr) with Mountune 215 upgrade :)
I just sold my '14 Fiesta ST and purchased a '16 Focus ST. It has much more amenities and I like amenities 😃. Either way they are both a amazing cars.
+Kim Crails Don't tell me about your spending habits
+scterka I'm sorry you made that mistake. Anyone tell you yet that you also gained 500lbs and are now slower in the back roads?:P
+Tom Brooks now the Focus is gone and now I have a 2016 Mustang GT
scterka What was wrong with the FOST in your opinion?
+Tom Brooks It's gone now and in it's place sits a 2016 Mustang GT. See my videos on RUclips.
I thought I was the only one with the drinks next to handbrake problem, it gets to me lol
Funny that a lot of people are this picky...and I understand...But yes you will quickly get over the little bad stuff about this car and then simply have a blast..I am considering getting one of these...Good and funny video keep it up.
I don't know why you have so many dislikes, I loved this haha. I'm debating between a Focus ST and a Fiesta ST as my first new car.
+vestyman04 Get the Fiesta for two reasons, it is super lightweight and you feel every bit of horsepower that you gain from modding and if you drive a Focus, you don't stand out as much as the Fiesta with a nice exhaust.
The Focus torque steers like an MF and the Fiesta is much better balanced. Many people say it feels like a RWD car.
"BOOP." my favourite.
Great message!
"There's a bee in here." Awesome ending to a funny video.
I used to jump at these cars when they came available through Zipcar. When I moved back to the suburbs I bought a GTI SE. It comes with half a power seat. Reclining is power, but if you want to move the seat forward you are on your own, buster!
I had my ST for about 30 minutes before I pulled out all of those rear headrests and tossed them in my garage.
Excellent and very funny video!!
My main gripe with my recaros...no seat rake and lumbar adjustment.
Truly a hoot! Thanks for the grins.
Funny review, enjoyed it!
One more thing, you can't fit a full size set of golf clubs in the trunk. I have to lay them in down in the back seat or fold down one of 60/40 back seats and carefully slide them into the hatch/ seat opening.
Looks like a 🐟 fish, caught me of guard, that had me chuckling.!!!

Sport mode IS off center. I thought I was the only one to notice.
I'm sooooo glad you ended on a positive note, I was about to unleash some smart abuse on you 😂
"There's a bee in here"
Now that's an actual flaw that can threaten your safety. I prefer my cars beeless, thanks.
Okay fair play, i was mid writing a rage status about your video! But nice love for the fiesta :D
good stuff. keep'em comin
This is most likely because doing so would involve ripping the seat out
+Jeremy Gallus they do that on the mk6 fiesta ST but not the mk7
+Jeremy Gallus they only do that in the focus, fiesta does not fold flat. ive owned both
+Andrew Eby That sucks. I occassionally haul stuff with my Focus SVT and it has the fold flat cargo mode which is fantastic.
+Jeremy Gallus fiesta and focus are different, I don't think the seats not going flat is a deal breaker though. It is surprisingly spacious for what it is, nobody is going to a lumber yard and wanting to haul drywall with the fiesta, well at least they shouldn't. 95,000 miles of smiles so far in my 2014!
Hey Dave Sinclair! Hello fellow St Louisan! Nice video. Thinking of purchasing a fiesta st so I have stuff to think about
Funny video man, my st is slightly different because im in the UK but really good end to the video lol ST - king of hot hatches!
this video was so much better than I initially anticipated. Subscribed! Was that a 944 in the intro?
The fiesta st is a serious sports car in its own segment so those complaints are minor to the enthuast
I virtually never lock my doors, prefer manual seats, have a truck for hauling things, have my girlfriend’s car for hauling people, rarely drink in cars, and don’t use handbrakes unless I’m forced to or am driving irresponsibly... Yeah, I’m still buying one, haha!
You got me at the end lol
Well done.
I know the pain, I have a fiesta. But lucky! You have a rear cup holder!
My brothers 2011 Mustang has the most annoying front seats. To get in the back you have to tilt the back then move the seat with another lever as opposed to my old 1988 Prelude and current 2002 RSX seats that tilt and slide all in one motion.
My feet are too big for that pedal cluster
Dude is hilarious. great review
is that an aftermarket touch system in the car? Nowhere can I find a fiesta with touchscreen installed
No. it is in higher trims of the fiesta, such as the titanium and ST.
heyitsme Not in the UK :(
Any major recalls on it? I have a 14 Focus SE but hate the automatic transmission and it's either this in the ST or trying to find a focus SE with a manual....(HA good luck) by the way your ending had me ROLLING!
It's like watching a review by Kermit the frog
I live in the UK so I've got the 3dr and we get 2 cupholders in the back, other than that everything here is bang on xD
Glad I finished the video before commenting.
The Fiesta ST is the the best subcompact hands down.
good video. that electric lock is dumb. did they fix it for 2016?
no. and not for 2017 either.
2019 still has it >
Lmao! MY HUSBANDS EVERYDAY COMPLAINTS - I’m super short so I have to scoot and slide my seat EACH time I get in/out 😂 I love my car though
Forgot to mention to soft paint and exterior, I somehow managed to scratch the WINDOW with what I thought was a clean soft microfiber cloth.
Maybe your colour is better, Mine's black.
This is like Doug Demuro's brother down south or something?
Why so many dislikes he's funny
Right on brother!
I agree with 90% of this, but hey cheap, fun, and economic. I also didn't know it had a sport mode.
1:57 it took me literally 5 minutes to find that button when I took it for a test drive, the people at the dealership must have thought I was either VERY thorough or a complete buffoon.
i love mine, but the biggest thing that bothers me in the brake dust. such a fun car though
Good stuff man!
I like manual seats.Saves weight and fail proof.
The handbrake has earned you a subscriber Lol.
ok but can we talk about how the turn signal clicks arent in tempo like one clicks faster sometimes it pisses me off lol
I loved this hahaha! Probably one of the most respected reviews I've seen on this car.
I feel your pain but I love my Fiesta ST!
i never realized why my fiesta had that scratch on the hatch until now
Lol! Well done!
dude you're awesome
Haha fun car is the answer exactly wabt practical buy a pickup or something else 😂 great video
Biggest fault is the ridiculous push to start!! If I keep my ST I would love to see it have a key start👍👍😁
Sync 2 is a bit dank, but then so are so many other integrated ICE / Nav units.
