Thank you very much for the thoughtful review. You nailed exactly what we aimed with the game (build up to a climax , flavorful, depart from the usual hidden movement novelty).
Glad it would be a top 2018 for you! Looking forward for more reviews from you, I really enjoyed the "let's talk about it" in a more casual fashion. Almost felt like a chat about the game.
It blows my mind how little attention this game had at release. CMONs usual Kickstarter model would have worked better for this and The Godfather imo...
I agree about the level of attention. I can only guess “Crime” is not as interesting a theme for people as it is for me :)
The minis on the table to your right look great! Excellent review as well. 👍
Thanks!
Read an advice on BGG to use house rules: Game ends after 3 Seasons and HUNTERS win if Patron didnt manage to reach his goals/become president.
What's your opinion on that?
Absolutely not. That would make it terrible imo. The game we had that went four seasons was awesome.
thank you, it seems like a very cool game. will you do a playthrough of this game?
Too hard to do a playthrough with so much hidden information.
Yup. New favorite game over Christmas. I really like this as a 3-player game with 2-players controlling 2 groups of Hunters. Because of the see-saw action between the Patron player and the Hunters, having a single player controlling 2 Hunter groups means there is just no real down-time for anyone involved.
I'm a huge fan of Letters From Whitechapel and Narcos:TBG is right alongside it for both a very similar mechanic BUT a VERY different overall feel and strategic & tactical consideration by everyone involved. With these two games, unless there is some blow-my-socks-off new release that uses the hidden movement mechanic, I don't think I need anymore. And I LOVE this genre of games.
Is there anyway Billy or Francesca would make a guest appearance in any of your reviews?
I mean.... they're in every video on the channel.... .... :)
I love this style of game! Fury of Dracula has long been one of my favorites, and Star Wars: Rebellion is in my top five of all-time. I just wish I liked the Narcos theme more....
Best closing music ever.
Agreed! It’s from here: ruclips.net/video/Pentde5LhDU/видео.html
Hmm I was looking to get Fury of Dracula as I don't have a game like that in my collection, might get this instead...
I like Fury of Dracula too. Really can’t go wrong with either I think.
I have both and love them for different reasons. But you should know Dracula plays for considerably longer so it will most likely hit the table less frequently but it creates a more memorable experience as a result.
@@vgigulfdmcc1476 That's an important point regarding play time for sure.
Kinda like a Drug cartel version of Star Wars rebellion.
That's a good analogy :)
Hey!
Can somebody help me with this ? :)
So in Patron's turn, u can just play or discard one card, and use the sicario ability in that turn. If u can use La quica sicario card one/season that means u use just one plata o plomo card, right? If the game is three (+1 season) 4 plata o plomo cards enough. How can you run out of them?
thx
There are ways to do it multiple times in a turn through abilities and extra activations.
@@DriveThruReview what do u mean by extra ectivations? For example if I activate la Quica in the first turn and use his ability, do I have any chance to use his ability in the next turn? So the already activated sicarios in the next turn just move or I can use there ability once again? Good video btw :)
@@berentez I think I might be confused by the question. If you play La Quica's card again you can activate him.
This sounds like a great family game.
i know it is kinda off topic but do anyone know a good place to stream newly released tv shows online?
@Harlem Omari I watch on Flixzone. Just google for it :)
@Alvin Clay yup, have been using FlixZone for since march myself :D
@Alvin Clay thanks, I went there and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D I really appreciate it!
@Harlem Omari Glad I could help :D
I need Information on that calendar.
From Scott King :) www.kickstarter.com/projects/th3rdworld/2019-gaming-calendar
Plata o plomo!
Edit: When I posted the above 15 secs into the video, I didn't realize the phrase would actually be plastered on the game board itself.
I said Plato didn't I... I did. Bad habit :(
So best at 3, not good at 4?
No. Doesn't matter player count imo other than what I outlined about play time or whatever in the review portion.
