This reminds me that before the Cricut Maker came out I had to do some envelopes for my daughter's Bday invite and had to figure out how to write them with the Cricut. So this is what I came up with, took a square and sized it to the envelope size, wrote the address and decoration, I think it was a shell or seahorse to be drawn, attached them, then made the cutting lines of the square a scoring line (was planning to "fool" the Cricut). I placed the envelope on the cutting mat, (top aligned at 1" line and bottom with the bottom of envelope (wrote all down not to forget), then I placed the piece w/address with scoreline aligned at the 1"" mark, the Cricut wrote/drew on the ready made envelope, then when it asked for the score tool I just did not inserted therefore "fooling" the Cricut. (Now a days with the Maker, can't do it) But way back then it worked. There weren't that many envelopes to put address on and they came out real pretty. The envelopes were black and the pen was a gold pen. Just a tip from a grateful fan of your beautiful Halloween's with Sarah. thanks. ALMEDIA. ♥☺ ps I know there's a way to do this with the Maker, just haven't had time to play with Maker and/or envelopes to write. ☺☺☺

Would be helpfully to show how I can remove the cutting line at the flaps if my envelope is small enough for the 12x12 mat. No need to glue then.

Select all the layers (apart from the score line) and then click "Combine" at the bottom of the layers panel and then "Weld" and that will join them all together into one layer/piece.

I made that gift card holder in Cricut - the box part is folded up so the T slides inside and the T has a fold up that holds the gift card - I put a deer and tree on either side of the bow on the front

    • @CraftWithSarah

Hi Ann, unfortunately the Cricut Joy isn't big enough to make these envelopes, sorry :( You could make the separate panels with the addresses written on them and stick them onto a pre-bought envelope though.

Why are you afraid to use both? - you can’t break anything because there is nothing to break - get into design space and “doodle” on the screen - it is free to use, you don’t have to sign up for Access if you aren’t ready - make some of the ready made projects that are there - everything is done for you, you just need to click make it and follow the screen - I can now look at something and say “I can make this”, go into Access and put it together on the screen, tweet it and make it my own - sometimes I have 10 versions of what I started out with - you save each version - when I have the final made, I delete all the other ones - you can make notes to yourself on the screen and save them as guides - you have to try - you will never learn unless you try - I don’t have scan and cut so I can’t speak for it, I have Cricut
