Thanks for your video! Save me $100 service call. I used pliers to pull the agitator off. I recommend reducing the time watching the agitator spin. Thanks for sharing!
I have recently learned how to edit my videos once I have posted them. I will go back to my older vids and edit them. Takes a long time though unfortunately, RUclips editor is rather confusing.
Thank you so much for this video!!! We are having a hard time getting the agitator plate off!!! Was thinking about doing this exact same thing…but I didn’t want to do more damage to the washer!! But thanks again for the video!!
Ever so often I use dishwasher machine detergent when came time for me to do that it was clean I had residue in the main plastic tub I didn't have to scrub the clothes basket or anything I was shock how good a job DW machine detergent could do.
Hello. I did end up getting the kit from Ben's appliance. Unfortunately I may have over torqued the scanner but to the threaded part. I noticed recently our washer not spinning properly again. I took it apart and found the parts threaded part, at the beveled section, had broken to pieces. I ended up ordering a genuine replacement and temporarily installed the plastic set up.
Great video! I have the same washer with similar issue. Once I took the 7/16s nut off, I have nothing there to put a socket on. My washer is a 2016. Mine is just a sleeve but it won't pull off. I saw your needle nose pliers but I couldn't understand what you used them for. Any Insight would be appreciated!
I was only using the 90 degree needle nose pliers to get under the agitator and trying to use it to pry and pull with out of desperation. That agitator was just too stuck. Thank you for watching, I hope it answered your question. If not, let me know.
What did you use the ratchet for? I'm trying to pry it off but as you know, darn near everything is plastic and breaks easily. I've been trying a flat tip screwdriver to pry it up.
There was a center bolt holding the agitator on, I used the ratchet to take that bolt out, and a common screw driver to pull the cap cover off the bolt hole on the agitator. If I used the ratchet for anything else, it was probably trying to pry 😆
Thanks man! A little JB80 on that shaft and an hour wait and she came right off. Mine was totally stripped out like yours was. The part is on order and should be here in a few days. Thanks for thus video! It was a huge help!
@@kenroberts3909 you're welcome. I'll have to try that oil. Never heard of it, but I'm always looking for something that works. Also, this is the 3 time or so, that I've replaced this part. This last time being the most difficult and it just wouldn't release. Not sure if a antiseize would work. Also, have a extra just incase it happens again. Thanks for watching!
Dang the nut is out and we can’t get the rest off literally damaged it trying with the screwdriver and think broke a piece that the nut cover goes on. Ugh prolly buying a new washer again but it was worth a shot I’ve even sprayed the oil I don’t know why that piece won’t come off.
Each time I've had to take it off has gotten harder. If you happen to destroy the part taking it off, there are parts available new or used at appliance repair online, brick and mortar or ebay. It's not a very good design, especially the plastic parts and all that torque. Good luck.
Hi. I have a question. My drive hub was bad too but when I took the wash basket out, the tube that it’s connected to came out with it. What would have caused that?
Big mistake!! You don't use a power tool to replace the screws, you'll strip the threads!! Screw them down partway, then use a screwdriver in a crisscross pattern to tighten down the screws
I have the same washer and I'm pretty sure the same thing happened to me. Overloaded and teeth got stripped. Won't spin up to top speed and clothes stay soaked :(
What part do we order in having same issue and I would bet my whole pay check i overloaded multiple times it’s not that old so I’m surprised it’s already having issues. I hope to order part and fix bc I don’t want to buy another new one
@@npc118 also, while you have it taken apart, I’d recommend taking the drum out and pressure washing it. Mine was absolutely disgusting and I run cleaner through it all of the time! And leave the lid open when not in use
Good to know I ordered the part and we are trying to take a part now we have the nut out but the other piece isn’t coming off so fighting with it. Hopefully, my BF doesn’t get so mad he says screw it and I end up buying a new washer. I hope this is what’s wrong with mine:. Thanks for the tip.
The agitator and the drum should move opposite of each other. When weighted down with wet clothes, it did not spin to full RPM, it made a buzzing sound from the plastic gear teeth slipping. The teeth were stripped. Yours could be so bad that the teeth are not grabbing anymore. There's ways to put it in a test mode and get trouble codes by moving the selector knob a certain pattern. If it's not showing codes, it's most likely this part is stripped. My wife thought it was working because it did seem to move side to side, but the spin cycle failed to push the water out of the clothes and towels leaving them really wet.
Hello. The circular bowl inside my washing machine is the same model. But after unscrewing the center screw. The inner bowl does not open at all. can you help me??
Try spraying a penetrating oil inside the hole where you took the bolt out, hopefully let it soak and let the part come off you speak of. It is very stubborn due to rust and corrosion causing it to stay on.
@@junkyyarddawg Hot water and banging it!!That s.o.b is still stuck Benny!!! I beat it with the hammer drill, banged it. Been try ing to get it off since 7am this morning!! Going to walkaway before I take an axe to it!!!
Working on mine and was telling my wife there must be a spline drive or something in there that locks and unlocks for the agitator and basket, couldn’t get the agitator off so sitting on the throne and found this vid…good to know just need some more elbow grease and that sumbitch will come off.
@@junkyyarddawg I’ll watch that video too later on, I Sprayed some PB down the hole, then grabbed a heat gun to get it to travel a little more (of course I didn’t go crazy with the heat gun but gave it enough), then grabbed a stubby flat head and a small pry bar and worked it around, when it moved up and down enough I grabbed the agitator with both hands and used it as a slide hammer against itself and it came off…that drive was rusted pretty bad, now just have to get the replacement hub and should be back in business.
@@junkyyarddawg yeah I got it out in probably about 10 minutes after I knew it actually came off that way, I didn’t want to break anything so had to make sure there wasn’t anything else holding it in, your vid came in very handy. Thanks again!!
Question for you I have a Brovo and replaced the clip under the bottom plate that moves now when I plug it in withing 10 sec. its starts to run weather the lid is up or down and will not stop no lights on and cant use the on off switch to turn it off. What is the problem with this thing now? thanks so much
I can’t get the drive hub to pull up around shaft? Anyone else having this problem not sure why but the spindle gears sit out farther then the drive hub so it’s stopping it from pulling up
Unfortunately not the first time I've had to work on it. I've taken it basically completely apart 3 times. Tub included, motor, pump etc. Helps that we run Affresh through it too. Never found anything bad other than coins under the agitator. Thank you for watching and commenting, I really appreciate it.

Citric acid and hot water will generally release them.
I think I used ammonia out of desperation. It seems to really clean the corrosion off. I ended up installing the agitator with inti-seize.

Did changing that part make the machine spin?

The clip locks the plastic ring with the splines on it to the steel splined shaft. Keeps it from popping out as backup to the screws I believe.
