I want those games back with updated graphics. 2k made NBA Playgrounds which from my understanding is like NBA Street but based on what I’ve heard it’s not as good. FIFA added a sort of street mode this year.
Anyone remember the Dirt bike racing game Freekstyle made by EA Big? That was so fun, too. I currently have all 3 NFL Street games and Freekstyle as well as other games, but these games have taken over my attention since 2006!
It’s 2004 I just got home from 4th grade. I got all my homework done and am allowed to turn on my PS2. I have the choices of ESPN NFL 2k5, Madden 05, NCAA 05 and NFL Street. Fast Forward 16 years and I come home from work and my choice is Madden 20. A broken football game that main focus is micro transactions for building a team that will be useless in a year. How did the gaming industry especially sports games go backwards?
@@dupree7575 your in the dark ages of gaming period. Look at all the games that are out, the Call of duty games are not as good as the Call of duty's in a 2000s. The Need for speed games that's came out over the last 7 years aren't as good as the need for speed games in 2000s. We have no boxing games like knockout Kings or fight night like we used to have in the 2000s. The Nascar games now and days aren't as good as the Nascar games in the 2000s. The wrestling games aren't as good as they were in the 2000s with smackdown 1 and 2 and WWF raw etc. Games like Halo and Resistance are not as good as they once were in the 2000s. NBA 2k is not as good as it was 1999-2014. Madden is not as good and you don't have other NFL titles like NFL GameDay, NFL quarterback club, NFL fever, etc. Also the fighting games aren't as good anymore. Mortal Kombat, Street fighter, King of fighters, marvel vs. Capcom, the Capcom vs SNK, blade blue, X-Men fighting games, Soul Calibur, bloody roar, Tekken Def jam fight for New York, and a ton of other fighting games are not good anymore.
It's a trade off. What you perceive as an improvement others would say why did you change it. It is dope, but some of the things like jumping off walls in ridiculous fashion to catch td made a game hard to play defense, even harder. It's all opinions man. I have both.

Man when I was in elementary NFL Football gaming was the truth! In 3rd grade, 2003 I first got my ps2 after having a N64, and was blown away with how great gaming was continuing to be. Man the nostalgia hits hard with these kind of videos. Thanks bro.
My son and I played this game hundreds of hours we loved it so much we also bought NFL Street 2 and 3. We only played "Pick em" mode where we draft our own teams among a random collection of players. The drafting part was as fun as playing the game. When picking a team you need to remember these guys need to play offense and defense so if you pick a Defensive lineman try picking one that also has decent "Block" ability. The most OP players were Michael Vick, Sam Madison, Charles Woodson, McNabb, Urlacher, Ray Lewis, Jonathan Ogden, Champ Bailey, and Antoine Randel El was sneaky good since he was great at WR and QB or CB.
Had a soft spot for NFL Street 2, it was just so fun! Liked that you could take your player from Own The City and place him into Superstar Mode in Madden 06
late 90's early 2000's era was the best year for all genres midway, 989 sports, THQ, acclaim sports/acclaim & EA sports BIG. and the gaming industry has never been the same, since these companies are no longer with us.
NFL Street brings me back memories. I used to have it on PS2 from 2004-2006, but sold it. Since I miss playing it so much, I re-bought it on the original Xbox in 2015. I had a blast and it led me to buy NFL Street 2 for the original Xbox, but would not buy it until November 2021 while visiting San Jose. NFL Street 2 is awesome as well.

Just got this on my steam deck through EmuDeck. After years of not playing... It was an absolute nostalgia trip. It holds up very well for a 20yr old game.
NFL Street and Halo 3 are about my only good memories with my older brother, this series is mad underrated and i honestly think it did a better job in making a fun sports game than NBA street
I grew up playing this game as a kid. I was so hyped to see the trailers for it and begged our dad to take me and my twin to go get the game. We spent hours playing it together, but I was the sports gamer of the family, so I spent more time in the game. It's still fun to pick up and enjoy. I loved Street and street 2. Street 1 gave us a challenge that was fun, fast-paced, and felt like you accomplished something in the challenge mode. Street 2 toned it down a little bit, but still had a very fun experience and even gave us some new tricks to pull off during games. I still regularly play it when I can and enjoy every minute of the action.
I remember when getting the first SSX, and NBA Street, it was a big, enjoyable time. When I got NFL Street, I really wasn't 100% ready for a non-simulation football game. I traded it in and got a NCAA basketball game and I was satisfied. Then, last year I re-bought it and NFL Street 2 for super cheap! I'm very happy to have them in my collection.

I spent an entire day in grammar school playing the NFL Challenge mode trying to pitch the ball 3 times ,if I remember correctly, and score against Ray Lewis and the Ravens defense. Man that was so hard y’all couldn’t fathom if you never played this game. We need this series to come back in NFL and NBA......... ASAP

You should definitely do a video on Blitz the League and Blitz II, I still play those games to this day, along with Street. There's so much actual lore to Blitz the League's universe and so many references, you'll get sucked in doing a deep dive into it.

I remember having NFL Street for the PS2. We had a Gameshark, so I used that to give me unlimited attributes. I boosted my team all the way up and was instantly unstoppable.
Unlocking Legendary players was sweet. When we did a Pick em draft we'd unlock legends so they could randomly popup as being draftable. Walter Payton had high passing stats for a RB so I'd draft him to be my QB he was also almost untackleable.
Crush the carrier was literally all I played when I touched this game lol. I remember the how the fun arcade modes had a rng based pick, so I always back out to see if I would be the first pick and always picked the highest attribute player which I remember was Reggie bush for crush the carrier and Steven Jackson was a literal beast breaking tackles. I wish there was a console port of this for the next gen consoles
I remember my buddy and I would come home from school and we'd play NFL Street. We came up with a really silly challenge where we drafted teams of only linemen and we called it Fat Man Smackdown lol
I loved playing the street sports games when I was a kid. For some odd reason, each sport had a trilogy of games but the 2nd one is usually the best (NBA Street Vol. 2, NFL Street 2, and FIFA Street 2)

You say that tour was awful but once you play nfl street 3 you realize how far they fell from glory, I personally think tour was a more fluid game then that electric football board game we were given as a third installment.

The 2nd NFL Street is amazing and totally worth talking about. They took NFL Street 1 and improved it a LOT.

Blitz: The League, and Blitz 2 were so much fun. All the Blitz games are. The only “modern” title like that now is the new “Mutant Football League”.
