Thanks for this video. Mine is going in for a safety recall for this exact issue. Vauxhall are recalling all this make & model and replacing the rear toe links regardless if they are corroded or not.

Safety Recall: Insignia Rear Toe Link
Since the recall that I received a letter about last week, I think your video is very useful to any of us that try to investigate further before handing over to the Vauxhall garages.
I agree, you certainly have / had a crack in the nearside toe link which any garage should replace both rather than one on it's own.
One thing that the recall doesn't mention, is the NEED to have the camber correctly adjusted as they do the refit, as well as having new bolts too.
I'm going to try to take a look at mine as they do it, although, I don't know how successful that will be considering todays H&S rules!
    Many thanks again.

good video again mate. I noticed on my MOT service history there was a recall in 2015 and I was curious what it was so contacted VX and it's the toe links are recalled for corrosion. anyone seeing this may help them and save a bit of money. got mine booked in to be checked soon :)

Quality video. The exact same arm on the exact same side on my insignia just snapped this evening, I thought it was a flat tyre at first as I heard a pop/ping sound and the car started crabbing to the right..
.pulled over, tyres were fine.....carried on a bit more war crabbing horribly, felt like I was driving on snow. Pulled over got under car and found this arm had snapped! Ended up limping the car home at 10mph up a dual carriage way!
The way this part fails and what it causes the car to do when it fails makes me thankful it happened at low speed, if this had snapped on a motorway, at motorway speed, I'm pretty sure the car would have spun round and we would have had a massive accident!
I'm replacing both arms weather the other one looks like it needs doing or not.
    Cheers for the video man!

Vauxhall just issued a recall on this part on the 30th of November. Call your dealership and qoute O4V / 20044351EE. If you already replaced and you have the invoices you can ask for reimbursement.

@@leonc888 same, there is no UK recall for this. If you check your registration on the gov website for MOT history. There is a section on there for checking Recalls, my 2010 insignia has no recalls.

@@nashfunk389 There is a recall, I did received a letter from Vauxhall. It does not shows up on DVLA's website, yet. I try to share a link below, I'm not sure if it will work on youtube. Like I said, call the dealership and qoute the above mentioned recall number.

@@leonc888 I had a letter directly from Vauxhall about the recall. It does not show up on the DVLA's website when you do a MOT check / safety recall check. I tried to share the letter here on youtube 5 times so far, as soon as youtube detects a link it will make my comment invisible to others. I live in the South East of England so there is definitely a recall for this in the UK. Give your dealership a ring. The recall letter says the following:
      Action Required
Recall: Insignia FWD, Model Years 2009-13, Rear Toe Link.
      Reference Number O4V / 2004351EE
The issue: Our investigations have revealed that your vehicle may be affected by corroded rear toe links. If the rear toe link is corroded, it could break while driving, resulting in a loss of control of the vehicle.
Our action: To address this issue, we will check the rear toe links for corrosion and replace the parts if required. This work will be carried out completely free of charge by any Authorised Vauxhall Repairer.
Your action: Please immediately contact your Authorised Vauxhall Repairer to arrange for the remedial action to be carried out. If you do not already use an Authorised Vauxhall Repairer, visit ... where you will find details of Authorised Vauxhall Repairers located near you.

Vauxhall have recalled all insignia to refit stronger camber arms. DVLA supplied them with keepers address. I had both updated free last Tuesday ( May 2024 ) even though I repaired the faulty ones 6 months ago as they had sheered. Thank God I was not speeding but unfortunately this repair did not allow for tyre camber adjustment so inner part of both tyres very worn and need replacing. Perhaps this is why the car steering wheel is vibrating at 80mph ??? Not enough protection underneath on early vauxhall.
