Underfunding in state schools, poor value NHS inflated contracts going to their pals, mismanagement of the economy in investing solely in the south and financial services has led to these issues so why should we believe that they truly have the heart or mind to solve issues that are diametrically opposed to their political beliefs??

    no, you arent. all that scheme does is economically ruin those who are on unemployment and cannot find employment within their chosen workplace or where they have experience. that isnt putting people into work, because a majority of those open job positions are skilled labour that people do not have the education or training for.
    If the conservative government was to invest in training people for those jobs to attempt to kickstart the economy, i would understand. however all they are really doing is taking money away from the poorest if they cannot "pull themselves up by the bootstraps".

      The system is not a joke. It is abused, but you would struggle to find a better functioning democracy in the world. Most days in the Commons are not like this and most of the work of the Commons is done away from the Chamber.

    • @PaulWelsh
      @PaulWelsh 2 года назад +2

      I agree, it is a joke. Most if it needs reformed for the modern world. We need anti corruption laws that work, a proper code of ethics for the MPs, an overhaul of the MPs salaries and expenses, fix the issue with them having second homes in London, they could have dorm rooms set up for extended visits to London, we need to get the monarchy out of politics, review the reason people get a peerage to the house of lords, and review what powers these lords have, do away with the ceremony, the black rod, and all that rubbish, allow MPs to vote remotely...I'm probably missing a few thing, but yeah, they could use an overhaul. These people are supposed to be there to represent us, the citizens of this country. Instead they are there for themselves, or represent corporate Interests.

      Not laughing, though definitely cringing quite a bit. There's a lot of pity to be felt, too. Every story I hear about UK citizens unable to say goodbye to their loved ones dying alone of Covid, while Boris partied during lockdown restrictions is beyond *infuriating.*
      Meanwhile, here in the States, we've begun banning books in public schools, so I think we're solidly, even with Trump gone (for now), still the world's #1 laughing stock.
