I love his voice it's amazing, I just can't get used to hearing the british accents in Wicked. I never knew that the West End didn't use American accents for Wicked. It must be like when people from britain listen to Broadway Matilda or Billy Elliot and they make the accents this weird mix between british and american that doesn't work...
+Margot Lazarus Well, there's no reason for them do use the American accents as the story isn't set in America. They do the exact same thing with West End shows that transfer to Broadway. They don't do it in a British accent unless the story is set in Britain. But I do think this particular Boq's accent is way too strong. It's like Oliver Twist going to university
Life long American here, who also just happens to know most of the words to every song in Wicked by now...it DEFINITELY is unusual and ...interesting?... to hear it with British accents. Personally, I enjoy it...I have ALWAYS loved the British accent (and the Australian accent for that matter) in general...uhh except the one dialect that I literally can NEVER understand, I think it's called Cockney? But aside from that, I find it adds a level of sophistication to things, including musicals! Also considering how often I have seen/heard Wicked/its soundtrack, it adds a unique novelty to it.
The Nessa in this video was Cassandra "Cassie" Compton. She was my second Nessa, since my first Nessa was Natalie Anderson, who was Cassie's predecessor.
SARAH! She's such a lovely person and SO AMAZING! Been taught by her and she is so hilarious! Can see bits of Glinda pop out when she's talking, its great!
Florence Gregory they say that Boq is a munchkin a bunch of times, and out of the main characters he’s the only one who’s stated to be one, so I’m pretty sure they’re implying that the other characters aren’t munchkins
Lee was my first Fiyero, and still my favourite. I think. The only one I've seen who has come even remotely close was David Rudin (u/s to Matt Willis) who was gorgeous and brilliant also.
Does anyone know if they added “I do happen to be free tonight”? I’ve only seen the American version though, so I don’t know if they do it a different way.
The only thing that really bugs me is the guy who plays fiyero has really sharp endings to what he sings versus a nice fade if that makes any sense at all. It is like he sharply goes from singing to talking which sounds so harsh. He really has a lovely voice other than that.
Cassie was my very second Nessa, with my first being Natalie Anderson, and she was amazing. I really wish Cassie would come back to Wicked. I'd give anything to see her live again bc she is one of the best Nessas.
Everyone complaining about the British accents. You know what’s more distracting than British accents? Terrible/uneven American accents. The cast may not have been able to master the American accents and someone made the (right) call not to use them. If you want to know how a bad accent can really ruin any chance of enjoyment, try listening to Kevin Costner do anything but his natural southwestern drawl (Robin Hood, anyone)?
Obviously you have . Norbert does not exactly look like he did and you should open yourself to other performers :) That was a long long time ago to only watch one version.
I absolutely love Lee Mead so much honestly xx 😘
Best surprise ever when Lee walked out when I saw it. He was amazing!
I love his voice. Just amazing !! cool !

I agree i am from the north of England and don't have the stereotypical accent and i cant help mimicking how they say dance.

That is Danny's natural accent but a bit more London!

Love Lee in this. Brings back great memories of the AV.
Lee Mead is gorgeous!!
I Love His Singing Voice, And I Love His Looks, WOW. Keep Singing Keep Dancing".
Can I just say Whoever plays nessa must be an amazing singer because to sit down and sing like that is really hard
I know right, I always thought that!
The Nessa in this video was Cassandra "Cassie" Compton. She was my second Nessa, since my first Nessa was Natalie Anderson, who was Cassie's predecessor.
1:53 I can’t get over this drum lick.
I love Lee he is awesome. Trousers are pretty good too
SARAH!
She's such a lovely person and SO AMAZING! Been taught by her and she is so hilarious!
Can see bits of Glinda pop out when she's talking, its great!
Does anyone notice...Boq is taller than both Galinda and Fiyero.....
Um....
I think Danny was only understudy :)
Mark Buell yes 😂😂
He's a very tall munchkin :P
Mandy they are munchkins not him
Florence Gregory they say that Boq is a munchkin a bunch of times, and out of the main characters he’s the only one who’s stated to be one, so I’m pretty sure they’re implying that the other characters aren’t munchkins
He's great. In foreigner's view, especially attractive British accent seems to make it more elegant.
Lee was my first Fiyero, and still my favourite. I think. The only one I've seen who has come even remotely close was David Rudin (u/s to Matt Willis) who was gorgeous and brilliant also.
British fiyero is *chef kiss* 🤩
SARAH EARNSHAW! SHE taught me dramatics in a summer theatre school !
okay i'm british and even i'm annoyed by how strong the accents are
+Jade James Nightingale Thank Goodness I'm not the only one!
+Jade James Nightingale Mainly Boq. I think the rest of them are fine. But this Boq's accent is way too strong.
I from Yorkshire and i get annoyed how the pronounce the words dance and obscured.
Beth Lawrie I used to feel the same until I realised I was an inverted snob.
me to
love this song and I love Lee meed
He is brilliant
Lee Mead as Fiyero = SWOON :)
Why does Fiyero look like Flynn Ryder? Disney, thy name is Clone.
stan ochocki that’s lee meads natural hair.
Lee & Danny! ❤❤❤ I do hope Danny gets to play Fiyero one time ❤❤❤
Also people, that's Sarah Earnshaw as Glinda. Not Louise.
this video is gold tho
well this is the best nessarose i've ever heard!
Boq is Danny Mac from Hollyoaks (Dodger)!
And he is now smashing it on Strictly Come Dancing! Try and watch his samba - perfect marks!
glina is me when i see a cute boy - that giggle tho!! I FEEL YOU GIRL!!!!!!!!
2:07 holy crap can't get enough of the choreography here
I'm so happy to say I've been taught by Sarah :-)
His voice is clean.
british boq is the cutest fucking thing oml
Love it
I saw him as Fiyero. He was bloody brilliant
Lee makes a good Fiyero. I was kind of hoping Boq and Nessarose would catch on to being played and team up for a little revenge though.
Does anyone know if they added “I do happen to be free tonight”? I’ve only seen the American version though, so I don’t know if they do it a different way.
Always good to listen to/watch :') *almost* my very first cast, though I like Sarah/Glinda and Danny/Boq anyway
Favourite song
Everyone's complaining about the British accent but I love this version I can't stand the american one 😂😳😍
It ended right before the best part
Who else watched this cause Lee was in Casualty and Holby City?
sarah earnshaw my first galinda! shes so incredible! :)
Tight White Pants - they a bit of a legend in the Wicked circle (even if they're actually more a beige).
Which Galinda is this?
Louise Dearman
no. its definately not her, looks like Sarah Earnshaw, the standby at that time.
More guys need to dress like Fiyero!
This is the exact cast I saw
Danny Mac as Boc?! How did I not know he was in this?
good song in this
do you have the whole video?
Who is this glinda? She's really good
Like the video. But I really wish the poster showed more of the dance choreography rather then focus so much on Lee Meads performance.
Nessa Rose sort of reminds me of Ginny Weasley
I like Lee much more in musicals (acting in ADWD too) than as an artist
I actually quite like the British accents in this.
Who plays Nessa Rose?
Cassie Compton is the Nessarose in this video.
The only thing that really bugs me is the guy who plays fiyero has really sharp endings to what he sings versus a nice fade if that makes any sense at all. It is like he sharply goes from singing to talking which sounds so harsh. He really has a lovely voice other than that.
Still getting over the fact a holby city star and a hollyoaks star were in wicked at the same time
Who is this glinda?
Its Sarah Earnshaw.
Does anyone have video of Oli's Dancing Through Life?
Danny Mac is so hot
does anyone have a rachel tucker slime tutorial??
any one else thinking galinda should calmb her hair? :D his voice is perfect though
Asdas ballroom?
omg they all sound so english O.o
These guys are more british than real british people. And that’s coming from a british dude
That's because the actors are British!
+angie maxwell Cassie Compton
Cassie was my very second Nessa, with my first being Natalie Anderson, and she was amazing. I really wish Cassie would come back to Wicked. I'd give anything to see her live again bc she is one of the best Nessas.
Lol the TWP are really a bit too revealing...
Lofty
Anyone got the words
That drummer tho
When ever I see Feiryo dancing I'm like" that looks like my friend" because when he randomly dances that's what it looks like.
A WHAT social gathering?
Elphaba calls it a cultish social gathering. That's clearly Elphie's view on parties.

Is it only me that thinks that he looks and sounds a bit like a young Michael Caine?
Mmmmm look at that package
Why are they doing in British, anyway, us (Im british) we have to do an American accent.
The story is set in Oz, not America like with Dorothy so I think it doesn't matter on the accent
This was so weird. I'm used to the American actors.
I love most of the performances here, but Nessa's actress seems really kind of wooden. She's performing the role, not really *playing* it.
Ok officially can NOT watch unless its Norbert and Kristen
Obviously you have . Norbert does not exactly look like he did and you should open yourself to other performers :) That was a long long time ago to only watch one version.
All I can hear are his S's - very disappointing.
His accent's a bit inconsistent
How can it be, it is his natural accent.
mi fa un po' cagare
ascoltati Matt Willis… quello è il peggiore di tutti
meglio in joseph
No shit Sherlock
his trousers are really tight they make him look like my GAY friend
All Fiyeros wear the same jodphurs.
Was it necessary to put gay in block capitals, as if it's an insult? Can't see your friend being impressed.
This actor has a big thick one too you can tell
This was terrible
