-Kristin going through all of this and adding in hilarrious ad libs(that book!) without breaking character even once. -Idina barely holding it together and breaking at the exact spots it would make sense for the character to break a smile or laugh a little. -To top it all off, the interaction in the end, it is natural to an extreme level. I actually believed that were the popular girl giving her unpopular bestie a genuine makeover. Those actresses are amazing.
No one will ever do this as well because it was written for her. Stephen Schwartz wrote this with her in mind, then called her. She did it and signed on for the show.

No one delivers this number quite like her. She’s like a Madeline Kahn or Barbara Harris where she finds these laughs in the most unexpected moments and then you can’t imagine the laughs not being there until you see someone else.
This is why I wish Broadway filmed shows. Every different set of cast members has brought something special and it's effectively lost now. These clips are great little insights but they really don't compare to seeing the whole thing.
Pointing the mirror towards the audience at ‘I know clandestinely’ was a lovely meta way to include them in the story. The audience is part of the legacy ❤
Both actresses did the role of Glinda beautifully. Kristian's voice is trained in opera so she nails it for stage work. Ariana had not just Kristian's guidance/mentoring but the time and patience to get the perfect take in the movie. Stage craft you have to keep on point all the performances. So each is awesome!

And, the film not only exceeded my cautious expectations but blew me away. Still I love the show and the book. There's enough room in the fandom for all, and there's been plenty of great performances in both lead roles over the past 2 decades
after seeing the movie , I had to look up scenes from the play. omg I'd say ariana channeled her inner Glinda because Kristin and Ariana's versions are hilarious. When Kristin did the hair flip I was like "toss toss" . I've never seen the play version but from the clips I've seen both are amazing .

I worked on a production of Rocky Horror once and when the actor playing Frank left mid run was given the job of filming his last performance as we knew it would be hilarious. And it was. I don't think there was a single cast member who hadn't corpsed multiple times during the show. And of course the trick is to do it in such a way that the show still continues and makes sense for the audience
well given how it's an illegally recorded video, no one has copyrights to it except Broadway lol. Plus, the OG videos were removed by Broadway speaking of, and this person is trying to keep them around for us to view.
Fr like there are appropriate times to clap for example I was in a musical and EVERY show right as I went to say my closing line even with the mic on it got drowned out by the audience clapping earlier than planned

Ari not only was able to *effortlessly* hit the E6 required in No One Mourns The Wicked, her acting was on point too, there's no one who could've played this role better
