Roland has sold more than a million Cube amps since the series first made its debut in the late Seventies. These compact and reliable amps have remained the cornerstone of many practice and recording sessions and have even appeared on concert stages from small clubs to large arenas (Joe Walsh has often used Roland Cube amps in his stage rig with the Eagles).
The Cube 40GX is the newest model, and in addition to offering big sound in a small package like its predecessors, it provides the versatility of Roland's COSM modeling technology, digital effects and the company's new iCube Link feature. Развлечения
I got this amp 7 years ago, long sad story stopped playing for those years, got a house and my amp and guitars back, love this amp. wow, epic, shes old but dam shes epic.
Excellent, many thanks buddy.
Paul's an excellent guitarist with a knowledge in a wide variety styles. He does a good job demoing the gear. Pinhead metalfuxx take note, broaden your horizons.
Great Job!
It would help to show a separate window with the dialed in settings.
The deluxe combo with slap back sounded pretty good
exactly. he doesn't push boundaries to get a point across. he plays on a level playing field to get a point across
I bet he can play ten times better than the losers who keep hating on him ! Give the guy a break ,at least he's done something with his life and he is a good guitar player anyway !
awesome amp
I have this and I have the g a foot pedals and the action pedals for gain and volume and I have a Looper that I have a 7 foot switch with so this is a great set of my love playing it and most people complain with his too loud so I can make it sound like most time for far as out there if I try hard enough and I'm good day you'll be really great it's worth buying I have about 600 invested about new stuff thank you
Nice Paul
I have to agree with you. not only is he good, but he can play all different kinds of styles besides rock and metal.
Hi, thanks for time and review. I am looking at this kind of amp for live dance performance, where this amp is part of the stage set. I do need very nice sound - through this will be played piano recording, so preferably crystal clear sound (or as far as possible). I need something of this size. Please, would you recommend this amp, or some another one. I prefer to keep price low, but let's say 300, maybe for deal breaker up to 500€. Thank you once again!
I'm guessing this doesn't ship with a comb.
Paul is one of the best guitarists on earth. I subscribed to guitar world's channel just to hear him demo new gear.
why make the first sound the gimmicky octaver? half the people probably turned it off after that
yep
for those of you who think Paul sucks at guitar, He is just about as good as they can find in their headquarters. Sure Chris Cannella from EVH gear is good, but keep in mind, Paul is just playing to show what the guitar or amp can do, not to impress anyone. so keep you're "Paul sucks" comments to yourself, and give more constructed criticism next time. I believe you're mature enough to do that.
Roland,
Can you make an android version of the Cube Jam, please ? T_T...
I actually don't mind paul's playing, i think he does the best he can with the sounds that are dialed up, maybe if the sounds that are dialed up were better people would complain less.
He doesn't even suck, so I don't get those comments anyway. He's not very good at reviewing seven strings and whatnot, but so what?
He's way better than me and a perfectly serviceable guitarist. No hate for Paul from me.
So is this pretty much a newer version of the 40XL?
agreed
the amp itself is good, it`s just guitarworld that cant make it sound good even if their lives depended on it
40 GX Footswitch dead?
Dear All, Has anybody used/tested his/her 40GX's FS-5U input with a stereo cable? My problem: if I momentary shortage the Sleeves and the Ring NOTHING happens, meanwhile if I momentary shortage Sleeves and Tip it switches nicely between the JC Clean and the Lead channels. What can be the problem? The amp is brand new.
I'd like to buy this amp, but it isn't anywhere aivalable. Can someone help me?
why no presence?
They can actually sound great as well. You forgot to mention that or demonstrate that.
haha
My amp.
What do you mean?
and also paul creates diferent melodies to present each guitar and only that is much for anyone
Is it loud enough for giging?
No looper?
is there a headphones output?
yap
Song at 3:30?
Can the 40GX make loops?
Yes but only on ipad
Such a liquid player.
your right but the sound could be better though.....
3:59 Ugghhh....!
this amp is just the same as the old 40 walt cube. they just changed the way it looks
When you review an amp, don't pause when talking ever 2 seconds and wear pants that don't press up against your 2 inch punisher.
True that LOL
why u wear a tupay!?
Mids Should Be Turned Up A Bit. My OP
That's not generally the case though. Of course paul is a good player. Most people don't like the tone when he's demoing new guitars or that infamous hairstyle he has in some demos.
man, i like the amp alot, but screw that i phone shit, give us the looper back!
This is a great amp, but the Cube Jam function is worthless....seriously. Also, Roland Needs a Wet / DRY knob for the effects. They are pre-determined and this would really cap off the functionality and make it that much more useful
thats what the reverb is for
Snehal Negative That is not a Wet / Dry for the other effects, just the Reverb only
There's so much they could have added since it's a damn digital amp...
Paul didnt suck too much this time
He makes me not want to buy this amp , this amp amp is way better than this horrible review or overview .
badger
true. it could sound better.
Cue a ton of shite guitarists commenting how poor an established guitarist is. Now there's a shocker!!
Bass: 10 Mids: 1 Treble: 7
Well there's your problem right there....
For a great rock and roll setting put your base on 8 treble and 9 in your mid-range almost all the way off then hit the mid boost on your foot selector this makes for a Plexi sounding amp
The first minute was very unpleasant.
Can i use this at my home without waking my neighbours up?
Nope
Use earphones like me. If you don't, be sure the cops will show up.
His playing isn't bad. He just has the worst tone ever. I've never seen a man more capable at making thousands of dollars worth of gear sound like dozens of dollars worth of gear. As far as his chops go he's an okay guitarist.
It's annoying as fuck, every Guitarworld video has a comment about his playing.
HD doesnt go high enough to make this amp not sound like shit
Great for soft music, bad for metal
Listen: Blues-based guitar playing is forbidden on the internet. No Slash-like wee wee wee on the internet. You got it?
The only effect you need in a amp, is reverb! Not the GT-100 in the amp!!
Not really.
That ruined the iconic cube, it's not really a Cube anymore it's a box lol. Sounds good tho.
good player, but his tone is really bad
Unimpressed
enough with this cube lol
if you play a les paul...do us a favor...either buy a v or fucking wear normal pants...
I guess getting a demo guy who can talk just wasn't an option?
, I measured the top volume deathbolt of 113.7 decibel maximum
sounds horrible
Worst overdrive ever
Proper tone turn the mid-range almost all the way off that will correct this problem
Paul's tone equals to his hair. Both of them are bad.
Sounds like a bees nest. YUCK.
, you're turning me it's almost all the way off just your TAP Tempo at the right heading and then after I dial in enough game it's martialis it sounds decent and if I get it right is perfect
