I bought this micro cube and it is so good and versatile small practise amp. Only thing I miss is that delay and reverb can not be used at the same time. But basically it works so well and in a vide range of styles and sounds.
These Cube amps are very underrated. I bought the 40w Cube as a second amp and I've ended up using it all the time. Its great for live work. Its loud as hell and its built like a tank.
I own the Micro Cube and I love the Black Panel Mode. Is there any Comparable Mode on the 20GX ? I want to update my Amp. I'm a little afraid that i don't have all the sound on the 20GX that i have now on my micro cube.
thank you sir ! if only politicians and presidents will speak so easy and fluently about theire subjects , like you are speaking about the amps! and without a promter!
I bought a Micro Cube 6 years ago as my first amp and I still use it almost daily for practice. Awesome and very solid - I'll be getting this update as soon as it hits the shops. I've auditioned the previous version of the 20, and owned the previous 40 also. IMO, both of these amps lack a bit of 'sparkle'. They would benefit from the presence control that's in the 80, as I found that the treble control frequency was set a little low to dial that in. Of course, the new updates may be better...
20GX if space isn't a problem and you want to keep it in your house, you can still take it to friends places without a problem, but only if you have a ride. Micro Cube GX if you want to take it around and jam with mates, they can get pretty beefy volume So yeah, if it's just for practice I would say 20GX all over the place
What about using these as a practice amp for a synth? Anything better in this price range? And how does it compare to Roland's CM30 (still being made?)?
i as gonna ask the same thing. can the Cube Lite be used with a padel or processor?? i mean of course we can, but how does it sound?? did you find any answers??
Really helpful in making a decision. Plus I understood every word. Thanks.

i dont play guitar but i might buy an amp so people think i do. prob buy the cube lite so people dont ask me to play my guitar.
Sounds better than a Marshall 15-watt practice amp. Both of them.
good demo, but i think it would be better to use some more neutral pickups, as p90s have a really characteristic tone

i think there is an app by roland called cube kit. that can give you many amp settings like, brit combo, tweed, orange stack.

Or a nice rock sound on zx40 turn the mid-range all the way off during the bass and treble all the way up then hit Lee boost middle boost sounds great
That octave effect at 8:57 is actually pretty impressive. It would sound good with a line out to a PA & subwoofer.
Asesome review, thanks a lot for the effort, Nick and Richard!
What happened to classic stack?
Very Nice camera switching! :)
From rodent?
Bingabongbangers
The cube 20gx
how does the cube lite sound with pedals in front of it?

Roland amps have always been good with pedals like most solid state amps only if use through clean channel.
hi as a beginner which is better for me
the microcube gx or cube 20gx??
only for practicing at home
budget not a problem??
Bigger is better 99 times out of a 100. If neighbors moan then plug in good big headphones.
