i was at this show, crowd was mainly just people waiting for the chilis, unlike at reading last year where people actually knew them and were appreciative. bloke with the mohican at 3:33 is da mannn

Fucking amazing song.
This song was based on a true story of Christopher Johnson McCandless, also known by the pseudonym Alexander Supertramp (Alex). After graduating from college in 1990, McCandless traveled across North America and eventually hitchhiked to Alaska in April 1992. McCandless is the subject of Into the Wild, a nonfiction book by Jon Krakauer that was later made into a full-length feature film.

I feel like the guy hitting everything is not contributing much musically
so? it fits the energy of the song and they still contribute vocals and their other parts in the song

Edit: are you talking about Will or Richard? Richard always contributes much to the band. My answer above was based on the assumption you were talking about Will… And honestly, after they both climb back on stage, you can both see and hear Will playing glockenspiel and Richard playing a synthesizer, so… 🤷🏼♂️🤔🧐
Didn't like it nearly as much as the album version. The dissonance in Funeral is what sets the song apart for me.
