This was the first arcade fire song I ever LISTENED to. I’d initially dismissed a cd that my dad bought at Starbucks of all places by a band I never heard of. Then as it played in the background at my dads cabin I heard “and if our parents start crying, then I’ll dig a tunnel, from my window to yours” and I was like what is this guy talking about, and I went about finding out and then I was all in
I just cannot wait to see these at Reading this year. This is from 2007 - the only year in the last 4 that I didn't go. This year, they're headlining and I'm looking forward to that Saturday night so much... :)
@NoelKilledZombie @KalB971 They play it slightly differently live than on the record, as with a lot of their songs. Part of what makes them such a remarkable live band. Definitely an intended increase of the tempo throughout the song
