    Freddy You built my first heli an Align 500 and I now own a 450 DFC another 500 conversion from FB to DFC FBL 2 blade 130's one stock and one with more aluminum on it than I want to talk about. Point being YOU have answered all my questions over the past year or so. and I'm still very addicted to the hobby thanks to you and your willingness to share your knowledge. Without it I may have just given up. Thank you Freddy. You "ARE THE MAN"

    Freddy, this is a great explanation of the throttle /pitch curve, and it helps understand exactly what the engine does when pitch is increased. Very well done.

    thanks so much Freddie. You're a natural teacher, in all your videos. This is the only explanation i've come across that explains the reasons for the values, how to fly the heli for a given curve, and the real, practical consequences of changing them.

    Wanted to compliment and also to thank you for the clear and helpful content of your videos. These are some of the most interesting and certainly some of the better quality instructional videos I have used to help my progression with this hobby. Although I am new to this hobby and ascending in years you have explained very well the dynamics of flight and the important concepts of setting up and balancing the throttle & pitch. I think for any new flyer this understanding is important.

    I'm just a beginner,can hover move a bit, but by no means good. Right
    Now I'm at 86.5% on thrudle at mid
    Stick and about 6 % pitch at mid stick. Full throttle 96.5%
    I think I will lower my throttle to 80% at mid stick as u suggest

    Hi Freddy, I'm a little new with Futaba 8fg super. I have a trex 450 Pro Flybard version with futaba Gy401 Gyro, what's the best throttle curves & pitch curves can you suggest? I don't do hard 3d, mainly for sport flying for now but also mild 3d enough for the helicopter to be a little responsive on a flip & inverted flights. Your videos are great, but for someone like me to be on the safe side a given values would be real helpful. Thank you so much in advance.

    My throttle cure screen shows a total of 7 points but only lets me set 1-5.
    How can I set the other 2 - so that I have a 7 point throttle curve ?
    my throttle stick stops 1/4 inch from top and 1/4 inch from bottom.
    When I try to set up throttle curve it only lets me set 5 of the 7 possible positions.
    Do I need to adjust the throttle stick to have full range of motion to fix this?
    If so, how do I make that adjustment ?
    I have a DX6E - thanks

    hi i like to setup the pitch curves low -6 ,mid +2, high +10 that is for the oeks that like to hover and switch to idle 1 in hover if u are hovering in normal at mid witch is +5 and u switch to idle 1 the heli will drop when u switch to idle 1 because idle 1 mid is 0.

    super beginner here so first, Thank you for posting this explanation. I was wondering how the pitch curve begins at throttle setting of zero along the X axis, but the curve of the pitch is zero along the Y axis...mid way up, and not beginning at the same point as the throttle. .but, then I realized..i think, that there should probably be a horizontal line at the 0 pitch delineating positve and negative pitch .. is this correct? Or possibly the curve could begin at zero ON the X axis, and progress in the negative direction.. Im confused

    @nicholas5674 that's is partly true but it is still okay if you have it at 0 degrees because as the blades revs slow down it will come down no matter what :) you will need wind in excess of 200mph to not get the heli down :)

      Yes this was for older systems. On todays systems you want zero at center stick. and your full collective ranges at top and bottom. example. -12 low stick, 0 at center, and +12 at full or just a linear curve is what most FBL systems call for.

    I am learning Quad flight on a 400 size & find the best throttle curve for learning is 0%--- 40%---45%-----50%----55%----80% lift off is around 40% power between 45 & 55% a gentle rise and fall with the ability to hover with ease, for a quick rise I go up to 60 to 70% at 80% it will just be gone up in the clouds. Can anyone help solve a problem I have with a 450 please.
    Its a flybarred 450 and its massively unstable in just hover, just the tiny corrections needed for hovering causes the heli to have sudden and aggressive bursts of lift the instant even the slightest stick input is given!
    It's driving me nuts and I really want to get it flying properly.
    Thanks, Steve.

    • @33forsaken
      @33forsaken  4 года назад

      Hey Steve, can you comment or IM me more info. Maybe I can help trouble shoot the issue. Maybe even do a test hover video so I can see. usually in a fly barred Heli, I would assume unbalanced blades or fly bar paddles. possible bent fly bar or head parts. In same cases it could be glitchy servos or bad CG, or even just need a different RPM setting ( the possibility go on forever lol). Feel free to shoot me some info and I would be happy to try and help brother :)

    • @stevefox3763
      @stevefox3763 4 года назад

      @@33forsaken I'm starting to move to the mechanical setup being the cause as you suggested, I have just setup a flybarless 450 running a kbar and it's suffering the same behaviour but in a much more mild form.
      I wonder if cheap servos could be aggravating it too, they have a small amount of play in them, not a problem on my fixed wing craft but they are allowing approx 1mm of play in the swash.
      One thing that may be of diagnostic use is that the busts of lift are far more aggressive with forward or back pitch cyclic, roll cyclic produces almost none but is still there to a small degree.
      What I find surprising is that with the exhaustive googleing and searching youtube, I can't find a single case of someone suffering the same issue yet I now have two helis doing it, others must have made the same still un diagnosed errors I've made?
      If the weather improves over the next few days (horrendous here at the moment) I'll try and get a clip of the flybared 450 misbehaving.
      Thanks for offering to help, I appreciate it.
      Steve.
