    The only issue I have is when moving from normal into idle 1 or 2, because normal mid stick is +5 (flying pitch) when you go from there to 0° on idle 1 or 2 the heli drops altitude dramatically. Also, it's feels we it's as though I have to input way more stick movement to get the heli to climb or decent in the idle up modes with the 0° mid stick setting

    hey bud,
    u should be using a gov i have the align gov setup video give that a watch. also when using a gov its based on rps, so it uses your throttle curves to make its corrections.
    for my curves i use this ( but be aware throttle curves are based upon my flying style and helisetup)
    normal (o,20,30,50,80) i use normal only for hover, land, and take off thats it
    idle 1 (90,70,50,70,90) this is a good for sport flying (gov @ 18-1950 rpm)
    idle 2 (100,90,75,90,100) great for 3d (gov @2-2250)

    +12 and -12 is the degrees of the blades on a curve point, add a pitch Gage to the blades and set accordingly.

  • @RChelicoptervideos1
    @RChelicoptervideos1 12 лет назад

    So to be able to fly 3d you have to setup your normal flight mode to negative 12 to positive 12

  • @trexinvert
    @trexinvert 10 лет назад +3

    Not recommended for all, but here's what I do. Fly one mode. ONLY!!! Flat throttle + full pos to neg pitch(max) curve. The other two clicks on mode switches both set to throttle hold. That's right. Take off/land with throttle hold. Actually, take off requires "both" throttle hold switches to be tripped. That means double safety!!! ESC set to soft start. Multiple mode = multiple heli response/feel. Don't need that unless, let someone else fly it or need drop throttle for weak batteries. I'm advanced and just learning more tricks with one heli > one mode > one feel. Not multi heli's and multi mode's = exponential "touch" that requires mastering. Peace.

      +trexinvert High throttle idle-up is the answer to lack of tail authority.

    • @trexinvert
      @trexinvert 8 лет назад

      +Anthony Abelardo Yes, that's absolutely right. Also, if you want to trick it even more. Add more expo to the rudder(-expo for JR/speks and +expo Futaba). Thus, with "smallest movement" you will get full rudder in either direction...but only if your fingers are ready for it...not for retired guys/w shaky fingers or beginners. Keep on.

    • @antdx316
      @antdx316 8 лет назад

      trexinvert or just run no expo on the rudder
      I need to run idle-up because I'm on a 5-rotor with stock blades and gearing.

    I dont use a governor, i fly sport only. What would the ideal throttle curve be for nitro. Electric is fine and works great with 75% to 80% throttle lineair. Does this work on nitro or do you go from half stick 80% 90% 100%. Or 80-85-90%. Talking about half stick +5 pitch till full stick +10 to +12

    • @33forsaken
      @33forsaken 4 года назад +1

      It can all depend on the motor and blades and pitch EX. The best I can say is if you are not using a GOV then you need to have a V curve of some sort to compensate for the rotor disk load. Also the tuning of the motor is going to play a big role in how the throttle curves feel or make the heli feel. 80,90,100 could be a good starting point, but I am sure you will have to tweak it as you adapt it tor your own flying style.

    Hey Freddy, great video 🚁🚁🚁 Thanks👌🏼
    I just bought my T-Rex 450, & saw a RUclipsr recommending beginners use zero - 40% max throttle.
    What d’you think??💥

    • @33forsaken
      @33forsaken 4 года назад +1

      Absolutely not lol, your Heli will barely lift (if at all) at 40% throttle. Not to mention the crazy low head speed would translate to very poor cyclic resolution and little to no control over the Heli. These heels are designed with an RPM in mind for maximum control over the Heli. You can change the the way the sensitivities are of course, but you need head speed to fly a Heli. I hope this helps :)

    • @nutleighgrove3658
      @nutleighgrove3658 4 года назад

      Freddy Cordova Yes that does help - thanks!! 🌈 I’m used to 4 channels and without going inverted, I want to start punching it!
      BUT I’ve been told to check the settings on the included A10 transmitter first (a bit fiddly).
      It does make sense for 2 reasons: higher head speed = more stability like a bicycle wheel spinning.
      Plus the blades are more stable at higher airspeed like aeroplane wings - they want to stall at low speed through the air - right?
      Great to get some feedback! I’m Martin by the way 👍🏻.
      Check this:

      PS. Having the 450 tied to my workbench, neutral pitch, 100% head speed is vicious! I’m scared of any sudden or unstable inputs when I first take her out! 😬😬

      These settings are for a basic setup, most setups these days will vary based on which FBL system you have. A lot of them have built in GOV that altered the way throttle curves are used.
