Hi Max. I’m the other side of the world without the means to travel. You’re a wonderful tour guide. Thank you for showing a very special place I would never be able to see otherwise
I stumbled on your channel today. Australia has been on my bucket list for a lifetime, but I know I'll never get there now. So I LOVE that I can visit these places vicariously through people like you! Thanks for sharing your beautiful adventures!
Occy and the drone...hilarious. You are a very good Dad to him. The water looks divine. Happy you and Oc have friends on the journey. Outstanding video Max! Thank you for sharing.
@@MaxandOccy when you said "Occy even looks in the rear view mirror for the drone"...had me Belly laughing!!! 🦮🦴🐾 Occy avoids the drone cameras! 😂 it's always interesting when you watch you tube channel "Go Pro animals"...how many of the wild animals know they are being watched (by a camera) and dont like it...just like humans & cute puppy dogs like Occy.
Max you have always had the best video work. It always makes you feel you are right there with you. My travel days are over so being able to see this amazing place and hear about the indigenous people is a dream come true. I can't thank you enough for taking us along on the journey. Some of the others have so eloquently put into words how beautiful and truly otherworldly that Uluru is. Occy is beautiful as ever. Thanks again.
I did the 10k around Uluru in 1997 and at that time there was a metal chain up a side of it that idiot tourists could climb. I went on an indigenous guided tour instead of desecrating Uluru. The Indigenous guide shared that Uluru, culturally, was a masculine area and it was considered incredibly disrespectful and awful to climb it, especially women. Anyhow I am glad to see either you didn't mention the chain or it has been removed. And then we toured Mtn Olgas (which you pictured but didn't talk about), which were equally incredible and culturally considered the feminine area. I will remember those days until I die. Very powerful. Wonderful that you've visited.
Was there solo in fall of 92 when climbing was still allowed. horrible masses of folks huffing and puffing up to its heights. I climbed as my hubby had allowed me to go and he kept our two back in sydney and he wanted shots of it, but I turned and ran down as fast as I could and then walked the circumference, being mindful of the men's dreaming places, not to film or even look. I was completely alone, and again next day at Kata Tjurta. My mind was blown opened and hasneverclosed again. You did her brave justice. Thank you.
I thought, "Oh bummer, it's just a big rock!" Then you guys began rounding the other side, and it suddenly began to look like a giant creature of some sort... maybe from a scifi book. Then it started growing, and getting larger and larger. This rock is spectaular and utterly mindblowing... again, and again, and again. Thank you for sharing it with us, Max.
I had to cry when I watched this video…I got goosebumps…OMG!! For me there are 3 places in the world which are magical: one of them is Uluru❤️ I can’t describe this feeling, you just have to be there…there is such a strength…you can feel it!! just wow…wow…wow ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for taking me back there! It's so beautiful. That was the first place I actually felt like I really 'saw' the milky-way. Laying out there at night with no light pollution and just falling into the sky. So amazing! Traveled up from Adelaide with three British friends, learning to play darts, drink Fosters, and let them take the piss out of we Americans:-) Great to think about that again. Many thanks!
It’s so wonderful Max when you can see/feel the cinematographer is artfully invested in making a meaningful and beautiful offering. I really appreciated watching this particular story because that quality really stood out…happy for your success!
WOW! Uluru is truly breathtaking. Thank you for being so respectful of its significance to the Pitjantjatjara. Your cinematography and editing in this vlog is exceptional. Glad to see you’re travelling with friends. Shared experiences are the best. Love and hugs to Occy.
Stunning! The waterhole looks like a painting. Thank you for bringing us around Uluru. Australia is a bucket list destination for sure! I love that you're advocating for the indigenous people and their ownership and respect for the land. Love that you and Occy have friends along for the journey!
Uluru is so amazing! I visited in 1999. The. Colours were so beautiful. I was on a tour and the best was going to Kings Canyon as the rest of the group went up and I stayed down by myself in the flat part. I saw small birds and lizards and got to enjoy the quiet. Very spiritual. Glad you are having a good time!
I was there as part of a 2 day group tour from Alice Springs in 2002. Our guide was a brother of Ian Thorpe. It spilled rain on our arrival and there were waterfalls on all sides of The Rock. It was incredible. The guide said he had never witnessed it. Beautiful sunshine followed in the morning and got to see The Rock change through various shades and colours. It was memorable.
Uluru is absolutely stunning! Thank you for taking us along with you. I really appreciated hearing about the Australian Indigenous culture and I had no idea it was the oldest in the world! Just wow! The puppy reunion was so cute! Glad you have company along the way now moving forward. 🚐 🐶 🇦🇺
Thanks so much that was brilliant!!! Stunning scenery I will probably never get to see for myself (mostly due to my chronic pain) but now I have and it didnt hurt a bit🙏. My 1st vid of yours and look forward to so many more if they are like this. Occy is gorgeous. Safe and happy travels, glad you have someone to share them with 🤗
Your vlogs are just incredible, and always leave me waiting with baited breath for the next one! Thank you for all you do, and for being such a quality human to boot! Much love to the good boy, Occy too! 😊😊
So glad you are now with friends, I agree that there are times when being alone is a good thing, but then friends are the icing on the cake of life. Safe travels!
Uluru just went on my bucket list. Looking at the whorls and color shifts of the stone, the caves and pock marks - it puts me in mind of my favorite artist, Georgia O'Keeffe.
I had visited Uluru and the Olgas and it was breathtaking. I remember staying in a tiny home of sorts and the sun rises and sun sets. That trip to Australia had been on my bucket list for years and it was so worth it. I am glad that you were able to experience this magical location.
I climbed the Rock before they closed it off....... Awesome views of the Aussie Outback from up there..... You cannot believe how cold it is in the mornings just before and after sunrise..... Freezing.
You are one thoughtful dad for Occy! As someone who hates drones sounds, I appreciate it even more! Happy for your friends to join! Enjoy the ride! Cheers and lots of love from across the ocean! Pura vida!
Thank you for the tour. I am disabled and on a fixed income, so in no way could I see such sites! Thank you for letting those of us who can not explore the world to live vicariously through you.
There was even more to love in this video, which is saying something, since I love all your videos! Thank you for showing me such wonderful sights - this one brought happy tears to my eyes.🥰
Inspired me… again! I can’t believe I’m an Aussie in my (cough) early fifties and have never seen desert! I so want to road trip with my daughter to see Uluṟu. Love your vlogs! Occy is the sweetest pup. Thank you for sharing.
It's 20 years since I've been to Uluru and your footage made me excited to see it again in a few years. Really gorgeous footage in this video. I had to laugh at the whole rigmarole around Occy & the drone!!! So funny for such a (usually) chilled out doggo ;-)
If you’re ever at Uluṟu when it’s raining… wow 🤩 Water cascades into that waterhole and it looks amazing. The rock is such a different colour with the water streaming down.
Wow!!!! Extraordinary video! So beautiful. I do wish you would do a video that includes seeing how Occy reacts to the drone. Your comments and showing how you have to hide the drone business around Occy made me laugh. 🤣 Thanks for a gorgeous fun filled video. 👍❤️
It's so weird that I was just wondering if the gas prices were affecting your travels & then that ending came up. Pretty painful! Thanks for sharing your travels though. The diversity of Australia never ceases to amaze me!
What a magnificent and sacred place! It’s a someday place, but at 70 and with a health compromised hubby, I’m having my doubts…. Thank you for bringing the beauty and serenity of your gorgeous country to my small (and at the moment very cold) home in Ontario Canada 🇨🇦. Love how smart Occy is with figuring out where the drone is…
Oh Max just to see you and Occy smile -inst ant happy to see your mates Sam, Jess & Alfred. Thanks for capturing this footage you all made me smile too. Uluru rock is spectacular. WOW - the beauty. I wondered about the drone and the Occy drone story is so funny.
Absolutely stunningly beautiful! Thank you for sharing your experience with those of us who most likely won't ever see it in person. There seemed a spiritual feel to the place, even from video. Very special. Enjoy your travels with friends. Best wishes for a safe journey.
Thanks for a wonderful tour Max! Thank you for acknowledging and being respectful of the first people of Australia. Colonization is something that continues to cause them harm and you're right, it isn't acknowledged enough. Have an amazing time with your mates.

So pleased to see this video today. My husband and I took a visit from the UK to Perth, Australia to see my sister in 2002 and I won 600 dollars on a Keeno game. We used the winnings to take a flight from Perth to Ayres Rock. To see it again up close in your video brought back some really wonderful memories - so thank you for sharing Max xx
I’ve been looking forward to this one. Uluru has mesmerised me since I learnt about it as a child. I was lucky enough to visit in 2015. I’d recommend to people to fly in as you really get to see how magical these rock structures are (Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Mount Connor). After hours of flat desert you see these huge rock formations rising out of the ground.
Luv ur videos adventures Thank heavens I got to climb Ayres rock / Uluru before the park banned it Popping back down in October for couple train adventures incl the outback again
Absolutely stunning Max. Although I have been to Kings Cannon a couple of times I never got to Uluru. I am pleased to see how respectful of the indigenous people and their land. Also grateful for the way you are educating further traveler's in showing respect. Amazing shots of the rock without showing everything as it does make a bucket list must do if you can. Enjoy your onwards travelers especially with friends. Stay safe.
If you and your friends get a chance to visit Kestrel Falls can you please take a moment to reflect at the seat dedicated to my daughter Zoë. Sadly lost but made a huge difference for future travellers safety as I believe you are doing with mental health awareness. It's a beautiful place with amazing views.
Tears in my eyes as I look at Uluru...will get there sometime - Max, thanks for the amazing cinematography and editing in these vlogs - the music is so perfect.
I have to say my day walking the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta is on my Best Day in My Life list. We were the first to walk through the valley that morning and all the wildlife was there and the birds, too, we even saw a falcon hunting.
I agree, the Valley of the Winds at nearby Kata Tjuta (aka The Olgas) is a spiritual experience. According to a leading tour guide and writer there, Uluru is spiritually ‘dead’ as the Aborigine spirits have deserted it for Kata Tjuta. I certainly felt the spiritual difference when I walked both, without having known about it beforehand.
Ah yes mice can be a problem no matter where you live in the world or in any type of home. We had them in the wall of our bungalow. I was cleaning and pulling all the cupboards apart and fridge and stove were moved. Didn't find them until we had a gas furnace put in and they had to put a vent in the wall by the kitchen. They found 2 dead mice! ... You at Uluru reminds of the book my sister in law sent my son (in Ontario Canada) when he was 3 ( 29 years ago). He loved that book and I read it to him every night for I don't know how long! ❤️😀🇨🇦
So amazing, reminds me of our trip to the Grand Canyon. Literally will take your breath away. Occy is such a character. Your videos make me so happy. TFS
Australia is a stunning country. Thanks for highlighting your travels, it’s very inspiring. It’s also great to see someone in warm weather, not the same in Melbs at the moment
Thank you for the visit to Uluru. Very cool to see more of it than the traditional photos and amazing to see all of that plant growth that I didn’t expect! Big hug to Occy and happy traveling to you! (Yes these new gas bills are shocking!)
Loved your tutorial on how you use the drone. Especially enjoyed that you had to white noise the sound of the drone and your description of Occy behaving like a pinball if he hears it! Laughed my socked off! Our lives wouldn’t be the same without our animals! 😘❤️🤣
Buy 4 solar rechargeable motion detector lights. Put them on motion detection mode only setting and place in four spots front and rear and side to side almost under your vehicle or all the way under if you want. All lights must be facing towards the center and not facing outward. I have been using this method for over a year now and it works better than any ultrasonic mouse trap blah blah blah that I have ever tried and if you try this you will see what I’m talking about. It scares the crap out of the mice and raccoons and any other critters that come under your van or RV When that light suddenly comes on and they don’t come back! Try this! You will not regret it and it’s a cheap remedy as they never come into your van at all at least in my case over the last year. Good luck!
Terrific video! Thoroughly entertaining! So good to see your spirit returning! And I can’t imagine that anyone thinks they know more about caring for Occy than you do! Too many people do not understand how a dog’s coat works as insulation from the heat as well as the cold. Thanks for taking us with you!
I went to Uluru roughly 10 years, it's an absolutely majestic place. We had champagne and hors d'oeuvres at sunset with a front and center view of Ayers Rock. It was pretty fking dope.
Uluru is beautiful such a rich colour and the artwork is wonderful and to think of how many years it has been standing their is mind blowing thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks for sharing these great pictures with us. When I was in Australia some years ago I missed visiting Uluru. Your video makes me think about coming back to aus with my family and catch up on these missed memories.
I was in Australia a number of years back. Went on a Rock Tour. Spent 3 nights sleeping under the stars a few spots including Uluru. Amazing how the colours change with the sun. Gorgeous except for the same flies. I had a head net so made out better than the rest. Lol. Have fun!! 🇨🇦
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful views from the rock, specially the paintings just amazing, thank you for sharing Max. Give Occy a big hug, as I wish you & your friends a great journey. Stay Safe & Healthy... Abrazos
Aww so many memories in Uluru. I traveled around Australia for a college class 20 years ago. I remember the flies were killer on the dark side of uluru. It's so much greener this year! It's good to hear that the opinions about the aboriginal culture are getting better. Especially in Alice I remember that there seemed to be a LOT of tension. But, we did get to speak with an aboriginal man at the old telegraph station who opened our minds and hearts to his experience growing up an orphan at the station after being taken from his parents. So sad. I'm excited to see King's Canyon again. Be careful on those roads. Our trailer hitch broke on the way to kings canyon and we had to leave our luggage trailer... as our guide sped away blaring his SpiceWorld CD.
That was incredible. Your filming on this one was superb, right down to the mirror shot in the van window. I got a little shiver down my spine with your first close-up of Uluru. I can understand why it is a spiritual place. Would love to experience it in person with a member of the Anagu people.
Last time I visited Uluru was in 1996 and I always wanted to go back, this made me cry a little. Had plans to go in 2020 which obviously fell apart. I’ve been waiting for exactly these pictures since you said you were going to travel Australia. I wish you safe travels from Germany. Christian
The whole 'Occy stealth' mission is so relatable! I have a border collie and she hates telephones (ringing, talking) and there's a whole process to work around each time 🤣 Always worth it, wouldn't have it any other way ♥️
You really did Uluru justice. I am so honored that I got to visit in my lifetime. I camped at the campsite in a tent. I am grateful to have your video to refer to now as the walk around is so similar except my friend & I started at 4 pm with hardly any water & did at least 1/2 in the dark. We sure felt like we had a lot of warm company on that walk that night.
Still have great memories of Uluru! I was there in 1998 with a group and the tour guide explained the significance of Uluru to the indigenous people and that he would advise/suggest not to climb the rock. Some of the group still insisted on climbing it and the rest walked around while the guide explained so much and showed us many fantastic rock paintings. Was an unbelievable experience!
Hi Max, Just watched your video from May 2021 about your friend Lee. I have also dealt with my own depression and able to fortunately survive it(took about 10 years). I'm sure you must still be grieving for you friend Lee in your own way...just take it a day at a time. The reason I felt moved to contact you, is that you said you would feel guilty for the rest of your life about not doing more to stop the mean social comments on line. I'm sure the only thing your friend Lee wants you to feel is the joy and love you shared together. If you can have a quiet moment and bathe yourself in one of those memories I'm sure she will come to you and tell you that herself. All any of us is expected to do in life is simply be who we are (and that's the good, the bad and the ugly) and to love ourselves anyway, as well as loving others. So as tough as that is, when negativity starts chasing you, bring forth one of those grand memories of fun, love and joy. Remember, you have an angel on the other side now called Lee who'd love to help you be you. Love Mary-Anne ❤️
Wow, I'm an Aussie and I still haven't been to Uluru. It's been on my bucket list forever. It's so beautiful. Thanks for the tute on how you set up your drone, I've always wondered how you filmed yourself when driving. And the fuel costs!! 😱😲
Awesome video mate!! The hairs were standing up on the back of our necks watching you drive through the boggy sand at the start lol 😆 Yeoww the Iveco! Awesome tutorial on how you follow the van with the drone. I’m sure it will help lots of people who travel on their own. Uluru looks so beautiful. I have never been but Max was their last year. I definitely can’t wait to take the van. Max says he loves the shot of ‘Fooluru’ at 9.33. It’s amazing how many people at first glimpse think this is actually Uluru. Love how you highlighted the indigenous culture and talked about being respectful 🙌🏼🙏🏼. Can’t wait to see Kings Canyon 👍👍👍
Max, you did it justice in my opinion❣️even the shots of the native flora were stunning. glad you’ve got travel buddies now sucks about the fuel prices, I’ll shut up for paying $2.30/lt on the sunny coast 😂

Luv ur videos adventures
Thank heavens I got to climb Ayres rock / Uluru before the park banned it
Popping back down in October for couple train adventures incl the outback again
THAT is MASSIVE! What a treat for you to see it and with your friends, and taking us along ❤️ Wow!
So Happy to see a big smile on your face,Occy too! I will love following you & your friends on this new adventure, take care & good luck.
Lol Occy. Even looks in the side mirror 🤣 what a smart kid you have. Thanks for always sharing your travels. Beautiful place you shared ❤️
Ooooh............ I am sooo hoping I can get back out there again............ Truly stunning country!
Let is chant NAM MYO HO REN GE KYO this is only way to be happy
convert to nichiren shoshu
Good luck!
It always cracks me up when our fur babies end up being too smart! 🤣
Wow wow wow! Absolutely breathtaking. Thank you so much for sharing 💐🙏💕
Uluru is beautiful such a rich colour and the artwork is wonderful and to think of how many years it has been standing their is mind blowing thanks so much for sharing.
been there almost 11 years ago, and still have amazing memories about it. Such a magical place.❤
Another stunner. Oh Max- it is so good to see you and Occy! Thank you! Much love!
Lol. Have fun!! 🇨🇦
Thank you so much for allowing me to see such beautiful images! What a wonderful place. Thank you.
You are the sweetest guy Max💖Such a good bloke. Happy and safe travels 🙏🌏
This makes me think of Robyn Davidson and her trek with her camels so many years ago. I am so intriged with the Australian outback.
'Bloody insane" says Max and I agree. Beautiful landscape. Looks like you are in your element with your buddies. Love Jess' white top.
The sheer vibration of that place is intense. I never had interest before, but I do now. I feel like I got zapped by the huge force of Mama Uluru.
Christian
How stunning in the heart of Australia, a raw and deep beauty!
The whole 'Occy stealth' mission is so relatable! I have a border collie and she hates telephones (ringing, talking) and there's a whole process to work around each time 🤣 Always worth it, wouldn't have it any other way ♥️
Max, What I liked most about this vid, well after all the Occy moments, is that you never once said the words “Ayer’s Rock”. Good on you!
Hi Max,
Just watched your video from May 2021 about your friend Lee.
Thanks Max & Occy! 🌈
So beautiful - just a simple thank you for the beauty you and sweet Occy share.
Wow, I'm an Aussie and I still haven't been to Uluru. It's been on my bucket list forever. It's so beautiful. Thanks for the tute on how you set up your drone, I've always wondered how you filmed yourself when driving. And the fuel costs!! 😱😲
Just Stunning! Always love your channel....and you. Your are a kind soul. Love you lots Occy!
Max sweeps floor, next shot, occy rolls on the dirt 😆 🤣 classic.
Gosh ..if you every consider writing a book..I would be into that. Such a wisdom from a young fella. "Better together ..the journey is."
I didn’t realize that Uluru was more than one gigantic red rock. It was wonderful seeing the different views you gave us of it. 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥰
