Driving on the same road 20 years ago I got a double flat ! Phone service not extensive at that time. Many pulled over to help but none could help fix two flats. With the sun starting to set I started tp contemplate hitching a lift to Hermansburg and call a garage. The next car that pulled over was part of a family group traveling together. I told him the problem and he just smiled. 'Of course I can help mate, I'm a tire mechanic" He then set to with his compressor and tire plugs. He also offered me a cold beer from his travel fridge.....
I love how as Arizona kids, obviously growing up in desert environment, you have a deep appreciation for our outback desert environment that probably most from overseas don’t It’s a beautiful thing
Lived in Australia all my life and NEVER seen "The Bush" captured so beautifully and intriguing as you show it.Your photography is OUTSTANDING.Your Enjoyment IS OUR Enjoyment.WELL DONE to you both.Thank-you so much ! 🥰
I really enjoy your videos. I don’t know if anyone has mentioned it before but whichever one of you handles the music has a real talent for scoring a frame. Music is a major aide for storytelling and your becoming masterful at this.
The red you see everywhere is what's left over from the great oxygenation event eons before life existed on the planet, when the oceans that were previously saturated with iron molecules became oxygenated and the iron turned to iron oxide ie rust. That's why Western Australia is one of the largest producers of iron ore in the world
The moment you conquered the road that beat you last time, priceless ❤️ (thanks Mazda). How magic is the silence of the Aussie outback ( apart from the 3am parrots 😂). Also congrats on hitting over 80k subs, I wonder how many are Aussies? Xxxx
I visited Uluru in 2019. Even though I have aboriginal ancestry, it ended up being a much more spiritual experience than I expected. It went far beyond a tourist destination for me. I'm so glad they've stopped people climbing on it, even though I wouldn't have even if allowed. It's a must visit landmark for foreigners and Aussies alike.
You know what I appreciate about your travels most. Is that you spend a decent amount of time somewhere really travelling the roads not so travelled. Unlike other RUclipsrs, you guys literally live the experience. I also appreciate that your travels are more realistic for most of us.
Have done a lot of what you are discovering, it was a great time in my life. At the end of a stressful week, I turn you guys on, and it makes me happy and restores my faith in my beautiful country. Great content guys, you have unbelievably bucked the trend of the atypical American tourist. Wishing you all the happiness in life. Safe travels.
Oh, you guys always make my day when I see your next episode pop up. With so much negative stuff on the telly and the cost of living and life's stresses, it's just so lovely to sit and zone out and watch your video. You're actually helping people, you know that? Keep up the good work, guys. Much love and Stay safe❤❤
My Hubby carried our 18 month old on his shoulders around the whole King Canyon walk. OMG this land is spectacular. Truely loved it. PS the Star scape was gorgeous too.
Cockatoos will also squawk at ungodly hours of the morning too. Loved that night shot of the stars. Soooooooooo happy you decided to go back to Uluṟu 🥰
Every week of the year there's many species of wattle trees flowering somewhere in Australia. That's why it was chosen as our floral emblem and our national colours of green and gold.
Just found your channel in my feed. Your videos are wonderful, and you are born for each other. Please keep posting. Greetings from Adelaide South Australia.
Temperature wise: if you were warm enough camping overnight in those freezing temperatures, you should be mostly fine in Tassie. The difference however: Tassie ground doesn’t warm up through the day, so the ground is freezing all through the winter & if you’re in a tent, you’ll feel the cold coming up from the ground- I recommend getting a mat or woollen blanket for underneath you….
I know it seems counterintuitive to non-Aussies, but many native plants flower during winter, because that’s often the best time for seedlings to sprout and get established before the worst of the heat and dryness.
The majority of Australian natives flower in winter and spring, because water is often too scarce for plants to have the energy to put into flowering in the summer… late winter and early spring is usually the best time of year for wildflowers here! 😊
I love that you returned to Uluru. I've driven to her 6 times from Victoria over the past 30 years and are planning my 7th. She keeps on calling me back to her. Much love and love much guys
As you probably know by now, it did work out and AGAIN the colours never cease to amaze!!! So beautiful! It is such a phenomenon the way it can reflect all those different wavelengths!
“You know what it’s still warm enough for though…. Sandals!” 😂😂😂 Yes I’ve also noticed the MANY foot shots you’ve put into your videos since we told you to get boots 😂😂😂😝
Tia and Cheveyo im really getting serious fomo here I'm now researching Google Maps in remote places of Qld and NT, Normanton, Barkley, deadset I'm ready to take my leave from work your videos of the outback are just Spectacular. you captured Uluru perfectly. cheers.
Love your videos...The beauty of Uluru is breathtaking on its own but your timelapse was masterful - like a moving painting. Stargazing is also amazing in the Outback and the fact that you took the time and effort to capture our amazing Southern Sky...enduring cold winter nights..THANK YOU
Arkaroola in the Flinders Rangers in SA is worth a visit. The Ridge top tour (while awesome) would be out of your price range, but there are some 4w4 tracks you can do yourself in the area.
I went to Kings Canyon and Uluru on a year 11 school trip. Never have been back since but I want to revisit one day. Thank you for showing us. Hope when you are back in SA you visit the Flinders Ranges; the towns of Quorn and Hawker and go for a bushwalk inside Wilpena Pound. I drove to the Flinders Ranges from Melbourne last year and loved it. Also, since you love photography (and if you love trains as well) when you are In Port Augusta you should check out Yorkeys Crossing. The only spot in Australia where you can photograph an entire length of a 1-2km long train inside one picture; this is due to the S shaped curve to the north of the road. The Ghan, the Indian Pacific and all cross country freight trains come thru Port Augusta.
Glad you two did the rim walk. We remember it well, particularly the descent which was a bear after all those hours of hiking. But then again we were in our mid-fifties.
Your aerial vista shots in this Australian series continue to be incredible. It really highlights the beauty of the landscape, but also the vastness and emptiness, and isolation of the area you are travelling through. Makes for the best cinematic footage you have ever delivered!! Well done.👌
Go to bcf and get yourselves a pair of aqua dive boots… roughly $35 Australian… I cannot handle you guys wearing sandals all the time… Yes aqua dive boots are ment for water BUT they are super comfortable, they keep your feet clean and mosquito free and they can also handle all types of terrain especially red dirt!!! I WAS SO EXCITED FOR THIS! We were at King's Canyon in late-June, 2011 and it became one of my favorite places on earth. We wanted to drive the short cut to Alice Springs but only had a 2WD rental that explicitly said "No Dirt Roads!" in the agreement. Still, I was tempted to do it anyway. We did both the canyon walk and the rim walk. We spent one night at the resort there, which was having a mouse infestation at the time. Dead mouse smell everywhere and live mice everywhere, including in the very modest dining room. My favorite memory was trying to figure out what to do about breakfast for our family of 5 before doing the rim walk. The restaurant was way too expensive (we could only accomplish this by tracking costs, much like you do) so I went to a little shop nearby that sold a tiny selection of food items and I bought a loaf of bread and a jar of Nutella. Our family sat on the rim of the canyon feasting on all-you-can-eat Nutella sandwiches for what was probably less than $10. Incidentally, the $AUD was spiking when we were there in 2011 and for that whole trip, was actually worth slightly MORE than a $USD. Made things rough for me as the budget keeper of our group. Thank you so much for helping me relive this fond memory! And yea, we did sunset at Uluru, too. Love you guys.
The best travel vloggers I have come across. You guys are amazing. I too see your post and then watch; it is so engrossing that I can't wait for the next one. Have fun always.
First nations people traversed the land for thousand of years without shoes so I think they'll be fine. Plus being from Arizona I would assume they're used to being careful where they walk so they don't upset a local scorpion etc
At Uluru when you walk around the rock you can feel the life coming from the rock, it literally lifts the hair on the back of your neck and makes you feel the centuries of culture that has past. Truly a unique and precious place. Everyone should at least once in their life visit this place you won't be disappointed. Just sit in a quite place near the rock and you will feel it's sole.
My wife and I went there a number of years ago in our Mazda 3 but we took the bitumen road from Uluru. We walked the canyon bought fuel in the small town and travelled back to the roadhouse on the Stuart highway in one day arriving at the roadhouse in the dark. Not good travelling in the dark but we got there. 400 kms between everything out there. We loved it. And we were in our fifties.
I've only recently discovered your channel and I have to say, you two are an absolute breath of fresh air. You are both so warm, kind , loving, interesting and funny. Your filming, photography and editing are just amazing. And talk about informative! I've lived here my whole life and have learned more - and seen more - about my country watching this channel, than I have anywhere else. And I'm already sad because I know it will have to end eventually - LOL. Thank you both so so much. 🌈💜🙂
We drove the kings canyon shortcut dirt road back in 1998 in a little Nissan Pulsar (Sentra in USA speak). Let’s just say it started out white and we handed it back brown, caked in mud. It made it though…. After shallow but vast water crossings and many bumpy patches…. Happy memories…. Back then the road was free, the park entry was free and there was little or no accommodation at Uluṟu. Back then we were permitted to climb Uluṟu which was mind blowing…. We have some photos from half way up and tourist buses down the bottom look like little toys…. Must go back some day and pay our respects to the Local people and again enjoy the monolithic icons of our outback.
Thanks Tia and Chevy (ozzie abbreviation) for all your videos showing parts of my own country that I haven't seen yet but would love to one day...including some I never knew about! Winter here is the time when the stars, star clusters and nebulae of Scorpius (aka Scorpio in horoscopes) and next door Sagittarius (towards the centre of our galaxy) shine directly overhead. Scorpius was beautifully framed in your timelapse! I'm lucky to live on a rural farm where you can see the full glory of the night sky...but the Outback probably is even better.
Wow what a coincidence. We just left Kings Canyon this morning 23rd July. Stayed 2 nights. Saw a dead camel that was run over! Enormous! Loved our time but Uluru was magical. Lots of wonderful walks right close as well as sunset views. So pleased to see you enjoying so much.
FUN FACT???My understanding the reasoning behind birds making noise so early in the morning, is so the Flowers open from the resonance (sonund)algorithm ect of that pitch, then the 🐝 bees take care of the rest...
Wonderful to see Kings Canyon, just another place I missed years ago….. but you can’t see everything….absolutely amazing…. And you never ever get sick of The Big Rock…..enjoy….many more cooler nights ahead….. looking forward to what comes next.
This might sound ,wacky ,but i felt the spiritual element of Uluru. It really is a special place ,im glad you got to see kings canyon too ,its also beautiful.
You needed to have the song "solid rock" by Goanna pumping as you approached Ayers Rock. That would have been epic! But I guess you get copyright penalties. Loving your travels, I'm enjoying seeing Australia's beautiful outback regions. It's sad that I've lived here all my life and never visited many of these places. Thanks for taking us along for the ride 😊
Most species of Wattle (the yellow flower at 12:15) bloom in winter. The national flower of Australia, the Golden Wattle, blooms a bit later in August.
ooooof! Earlier in the video with the drone footage it looked a little hairy with that height and the trees...and then at the end...I KNEW IT! Sorry Cheveyo. Happens to the best of us man. Hope the drone is okay!
I was waiting for the next BIG thing. I guess Uluru will do. But wait... no Tia for scale! Thanks, you two wonder bundles, for another dreamy ride. And double wow for your time lapse. Colours were amazing.
12:13 the yellow flowers look like a type of wattle…. While you judge early or late spring with a groundhog in America, we can tell if it’s going to be an early spring, based on when the wattle starts to come out…. That said, I don’t know if that applies in the Northern Territory, but if it does, then we should start seeing some better weather soon…
When you pass through Adelaide stop in at The Bend Motorsport park at Tailem Bend They have a free motor museum with about about 40-50 cars $6m McLaren and $7m Bugatti and heaps more
Did you check out the cycads, the seeds are poisonous, but the aborigines use to harvest them. They would leech the nuts in water, then roast them and the pound the nuts into a paste to make a flour and create damper bread. 😅.
I always watch your vids as soon as I see them... love the scenery. I'm glad you got a compressor that is working well. That will give you peace of mind for sure. Yeh the nights can get quite cold sometimes... well it would be more noticeable in a tent. I'm glad you picked up the blanket from Kmart.
Let’s hope this Australian series never ends 🤞🏼 Best series ever!
Agreed!!!
They should move here, quick smart!!

You guys are having so much fun. Thanks for coming back to Australia we love having you here. 😊😊😊
I was waiting for the next BIG thing. I guess Uluru will do. But wait... no Tia for scale! Thanks, you two wonder bundles, for another dreamy ride. And double wow for your time lapse. Colours were amazing.
Once again I’m postponing going into my office because your video popped up. 😊
Still can’t quite believe it’s been a year since your last trip. Time has flown so quickly.
Hey guys. Clicked on this as soon as it popped up. Nice to see you again.

Be silly not to really, pretty hard to resist a OPW video 👍
Maybe that 3 o'clock squawking was flying foxes....they can get pretty noisy.
That is really cool! Thank you for the info 😊

When you pass through Adelaide stop in at The Bend Motorsport park at Tailem Bend
They have a free motor museum with about about 40-50 cars
$6m McLaren and $7m Bugatti and heaps more
The first time I visited Kings Canyon was in 1986 went back there in 2019, what a difference in amenities.
Did you check out the cycads, the seeds are poisonous, but the aborigines use to harvest them. They would leech the nuts in water, then roast them and the pound the nuts into a paste to make a flour and create damper bread. 😅.
Tia your comment about why you need the first aid kit - adorable! Can’t wait for the next one, guys! 🌏☀️🫶🏻
Seriously you guys captures the outback nicely…
I always watch your vids as soon as I see them... love the scenery. I'm glad you got a compressor that is working well. That will give you peace of mind for sure. Yeh the nights can get quite cold sometimes... well it would be more noticeable in a tent. I'm glad you picked up the blanket from Kmart.
