- In September 2018 I left my parents home in Nova Scotia and started hitchhiking my way to Vancouver, British Columbia.
The goal of this trip was to have a real genuine adventure, to push my self into an uncomfortable situation and see I could make my way through it. And I wanted to try and connect with as many different people as I could. And prove to my self how powerful the human connection really is. I met some incredible people and had some amazing experiences through out this trip and I'm stoked to share it all with you guys!

I shed a few tears at the conclusion of this series. Not out of sadness but at how light my heart felt. It felt like I got to experience the kindness and generosity of strangers vicariously through your experiences. Thank you to all the people who went out of their way to show kindness and generosity when they didn't have to. Thank you to Discover Connection as well for allowing those of us who yearn for this type of connection, but aren't capable to do so, to experience it along side you.

Battling depression...I was in truly bad situation.. fighting court case for last 2 year ... because of a a corrupt police officer false charges ...which finally ended 2 days back ..and i found the cooking for strangers video and i binged all the videos of the channel...i had made myself a stone ..but after watching Canada series and other also .i holded my urge to cry out but still tears rolled down....being alone sometimes feels good but it's lonely nobody is really there when needed ..but I still believe maybe I was the wrong to think that ...still I will try one more time...thanks bro...keep making more videos like this....maybe I too will do something soon... nothing to really loose.❤🎉

Brad. I am watching your whole series in the middle of the night and man this is so inspiring. I just did the same hike as you the day before watching this. The next day I went to work and within 4 hours I had to go home from feeling sick. Also with altitude sickness.
Stumbling upon this series, I myself am moving from calgary to chilliwack in 3 weeks. Watching these videos have given me so much strength. I have grown up my entire life in calgary. I don’t know anything else but it’s giving me so much encouragement that I can move to BC and I can do it! Thank you for putting these videos out!

I cried so hard last episode. 1 to final episode. You're amazing Brad. I am also lost and depressed, I got thyroid cancer, having anxieties and traumas. I am still recovering but I came across your channel and it makes me question my life. I was an adventurous person just like you. Meeting lots of people ,hiking ,making new friends, finding new adventures and places . now im 26 asking myself what happened to me. But watching your videos asking myself why not. You gave me hope to trust people again. Thank you Brad. It really help me.

I've always wanted to travel, especially around Canada, I've lived here my whole life and haven't seen anything outside of Ontario. That's one of the reasons I wanted to do this trip, I had lived 23 years of my life and never left Ontario! There is so much beauty and incredible people and in this country 🙌🏼

Hey Brad I just bing watched the entire Trip, I absolutely loved it and it made me reflect on my own experience of travelling the east coast of Northamerica on my own two years ago, I was 18 at the the time and am from Europe so this was a whole new experience for me, in Montreal my credit card was blocked, and without ever asking for food or water or a place to stay I got all these things provided to me by various strangers, I got taken out for breakfast, A guy at the airport bought me a bunch of water bottles, and when my plane was cancelled and I had no money to crash anywhere the pilot of the plane who I bumped into later in the airport provided me with a ticket for a airline exclusive hotel.
I connected with so many strangers on that trip and made some of the most powerful and life changing memories. This video series of yours really takes me back man. I had to cry a few times while watching this too.

Hitchhiking has always had a bad reputation but watching strangers treat you the way they did was amazing. Definitely will make me think twice about if i see a hitchhiker or someone wants help. Keep it up with your videos man. I tried backpacking before with friends here in our country and it is surprising that it is one of the most memorable trips I ever had.

I'm quite surprised that no one picked you up at Kamloops! Most cars leaving from there are headed to Vancouver. At the same time, I completely understand as in BC we have a large number of murders related to hitchhiking. I'd highly recommend trying this experiment one summer in the Okanagan as it is a fairly common thing as a large number of Quebecois fruit pickers are trying to get from one small city to another. I enjoyed this series so much, thank you for making such a nice series out of it! There is so much to do in Vancouver I'm sure that you got lots of more opportunities to hike!

Great journey. I hiked from Ottawa to Vancouver and back in 2010. It is an experience that can only be planned daily, hourly even. You may want to be somewhere at a certain time, but it rarely happens that way. I enjoyed your travels very much. Has me craving another adventure.
