Dr Shah and Dr Maxfield, because of you guys I finally met a dermatologist last week. You guys set the bar so high, I was a tad disappointed with the dermatologist I saw because your energy and smiles are the best
Weird. Because I have acne prone skin and St Ives has actually helped my skin a lot. I think people forget that skincare products are pretty personalised. Everyone’s skin is different.
I only use st Ives, my skin gets rough fast, and it does wonders, been using for years and have had no problems. I don't wash my face with it daily, so that probably helps
It helps me too, it’s about common sense and experimenting with what works for you, I use it when my hands are really rough and dry as then emollients work more efficiently on me 🤷♀️
However, look at St. Ives Medicated Apricot Scrub, yes the particles may be similar, but it has salicylic acid and worked as a great economical mini-mask to help shrink pours and exfoliate. People just need to know to not scrub aggressively, it made a huge difference in the texture of my skin.
🙌🏾 I’m with you on that. It’s crazy that a 4 dollar product works wayyyyyy better than Paula’s choice without having to wait 4 weeks to see results and spending $40😢. I don’t care what anyone says, this stuff is great 😊 especially (like you mentioned), if you don’t scrub aggressively.
DO A REVIEW OF PONDS FACE MOISTURIZER PLEASE. I have been using this for so long, my grandma use to use this and had amazing skin. I just want to know your thoughts🤩
Can someone explain how scrubs are harmful but microdermabrasion and other procedures that cut and tear the skin are not harmful? I've never hurt my face with apricot scrub. Seems to be working fine. Maybe it's a matter of how hard you smash it into your skin?
I am allergic to nuts and didn't know it had walnuts in it for years. So many of these "popular" products made my skin worse too! Sea Breeze...astringents...😬😖

Check out the James Welsh videos about the St ives court case. Turns out most of the 'evidence' is not as solid as people thought. Most were from one publication source in New York that posted a few articles. The shells are quite rough but apparently well within regulations. Well at least that's what is happening in the court case. Would love to know what these Drs say.
The court case failed to prove the microtears claim, still doesn’t mean it’s a good product. Dr. Shah didn’t make any unsubstantiated claims about microtears, just objectively pointed out how it looks under a microscope. Just because it doesn’t cause microtears doesn’t mean it can’t be a bad product.
Twice I ended up with walnut shell in my eyes. The second time I was putting on my jacket, headed to the hospital to have the shell flushed out, when the piece finally popped out of my eye on its own. It was that painful. Never Again, St. Ives!
I never liked using that stuff. I was always afraid those little pieces would get stuck in my pores. But now I prefer a BHA exfoliator. And my skin feels great.

All of you guys are saying things like “St Ives sucks” or whatever but I’ve used it since I was little and it works perfectly fine. Not everyone’s skin is the same and it might do that to some skin, but not mine. My grandma has used it since she was my age, and she’s never had one issue with it, or her skin. Honestly nobody should stop using it because people say it’s bad, if you’ve been using it and nothing has happened, your perfectly fine.
Oh heck no that will tear up your skin big time! The vees is a good cleanser and moisturizer they sell that at CVS too so don’t knock CVS for everything there’s actually dermatologist approved cleansers out there and scrubs but sometimes you as a patient don’t always need to use a scrub just because others do it doesn’t mean you need to do it as your skin care regimen because you might not even need it at all

This stuff is horrible for your plumbing, as well as being very hard on your skin. Try using a linen or linen/cotton cloth to wash with - it has a slightly rough texture and doesn't clog your drains.

Hello dr Shah, can you please help us decide if Nivea’s Luminous 630 is safe for removing dark marks on skin ? Its a secret ingredient, how do we know if it doesn’t have any other effects on the body ?
The ingredient, Isobutylamido Thiazolyl Resorcinol (Thiamidol) has some really nice and emerging data on it for treating dyspigmentation. Generally is well tolerated. Eucerin has a similar product, Anti-Pigment Dual Serum, which also has licorice root which can help as well. I'm personally intrigued by these -Dr. Maxfield
As a microbiologist I was so excited when you brought out the microscope 🦠 I would love to see a video on skin texture. My foundation always ends up sinking into my pores and making my skin look dry. I've tried everything makeup-wise. Send help
I have this problem and found that less is more. I use a tinted moisturizer/BB cream and powder foundation most days and my skin looks SO much better and I don’t have the pores full of foundation problem. I’m actually loving Laura Gellar powder foundation right now which makes me feel odd and old, like am I a QVC shopper now? 🤷🏻♀️
Another question, about Eucerin? It said to be made from urine, urine can cause ammonia buildup in the brain which leads to dementia? Can you maybe make this clear to us, if it is the truth? Thank you

Salute!
Also if I wash my face with the CeraVe SA renewing cleanser and use the Paulas choice 2% BHA do you think it would be too much for my skin and irritate it since the cleanser also has silicic acid?
I use a cleanser with salicylic acid along with a BHA toner. It has helped decrease my pimples. I had no irritation and I think that is because the cleanser washes off so it not part of the leave-on treatment.
@@teletubbiestunetwister9570 oh okay so you don’t leave it on overnight ? Because some ppl do
@@entisarrahmedd1026 what are you referring to? The cleanser or the toner?
@@SebastianoZanda no the BHA exfoliator
@@entisarrahmedd1026 To be clear.... The cleanser is rinsed. That is what I said washes off. Then you apply the toner and let that absorb into the skin. The toner is not rinsed.
