Reminds me of the older actually half ton fifth wheels 😂. We camped last year and there was an old forest river no slide fifth wheel that had just a bed over the fifth wheel like that. The owner said it weighed just over 5,000lbs and around 800 tongue loaded it was like 26-30 overall I wanna say.
This is a Vintage Cruiser, a line of RVs by Gulf Stream. They also have a product line called "Vista Cruiser" which are the same floor plans but with modern decor. If that sleeping area can fit a residential queen sized mattress, or even an Olympic queen, it would be a great couple's camper! I have a Ford Maverick and it's rated for 4,000lbs towing and 400lb hitch weight, so those specs are about perfect for my vehicle.
We had one by Shasta 16’ my parents first trailer. It was a 1963 or 1964 first trip to Yellowstone, Tetons and Mount Rushmore 3 weeks swing through the west. It works well.
Awesome trailer and design, except for one MAJOR flaw - I don't see any outside storage compartments!!! Hopefully someone addresses that before it goes into production!
As i just ripped out ALL my underlayment and insulation to find rotten wood all over my Jayco, id love a aluminum framed trailer. Btw the insulation is like a sponge against wood, it rotted out a LOT of wood, and the thermal cover under my trailerhid it for years, keeping the wood from drying out. Rip all of it out, let your wood breath!
Reminds me of my parents' first trailer. It was a Commanche and had a bunk in the overhang. I'd suggest a trifold sofa where that storage bookcase was, if there's room. Cute!
Interesting, I know their playing out the idea but, take it to a bigger level. Duel axle, 6 or 8' longer, stronger frame, full fiberglass molded top, forget roof top ac use mini split system, forget dinette idea use barstool bar. Area under bed at front wall make a wardrobe closet etc, or full length sofa.

What a smart idea! Love the idea of having a bed out and above the bed of the truck without needing a fifth wheel hitch. One way that the hitch weight could be offset a bit would be to put a storage rack or bin option on the back for larger items like chairs and grills and such.
Like most people when we see something like this we say it's pretty cool. Retro seems to be the new style. But why don't they do a standard looking model along with the retro model for people that don't really care for that retro look?

I think that's really awesome! That's a great way to get more space in a small package and no one else is doing it I'm pleased by the weight too.
I like it. What's old is new (but using modern construction/materials). This unit reminds me of a product line from the 1960's and my childhood.
