- P770 v PXG... a CLEAR WINNER?! - Can these PXG 0317T irons dethrone the hollow body kind in the P770 ? It all comes down to performance but also down to price and how much you want to spend on your irons to lower your scores this year!!
I just bought a set of PXG 311 P irons which I was fitted for. I have switched from Mizuno 921 forged. I was also fitted for a set of Cobra Forged Tech irons as well. The PXG's won out for me because of looks, feel and forgiveness. They also produced the best dispersion as well. I am fortunate to be able to take advantage of their HEROS discount program.
I have the Cobra Forged tech also and love them but also have the Takomo’s too .Best Irons I have ever played and I had the Hot Metal too! TAKOMO!!!! One third the Price! Oh and Beautiful Clubs too!
Maltby TS1-IM’s are $500-550. They are exceptional in terms of feel, looks. Performance is truly unbelievable for such a small sleek head.
Big fan of both these irons in the video as well but they don’t come close to the Maltbys when price comes into play.

Would like to see you compare them to Wilson Dynapower forged irons. Fantastic hollow body forged clubs for a much lower price point.
I went for the Takomo 201 irons just over a year ago. Price was a major factor and since playing these irons I have been very impressed with them. I love the feel of a forged blade.
I'm giving the P770s some serious consideration. I currently play to an 11 handicap and have played New Level (DTC) irons for the last 6 years. I'm getting fitted at the end of this month -- will also try the P790s (possibly a combo P770/P790). I'm expecting to pay about ~$1,200 for 5-PW.

I’ve just switched to the 317t irons. Look great. Fantastic feel and are forgiving too. Best irons I’ve had off a 10 handicap. Just feel good playing them

Exactly the comparison I was looking for. Wonder what your thoughts are on the difference in feel. The P770 does look a bit thick to me.
