I recently bought a set of the PXG 0317T’s. I’ve been gaming the PING I230’s for the past golf season and I loved them. Super consistent with distance control. My miss tends to be hitting the ball more on the toe side. The PXG 0317T’s have a 15 gram tungsten weight in the toe. I found them more forgiving than the Ping’s and equally consistent with distance control. The only downside to the PXG’s compared to the Pings is that they are showing more wear. The Pings look like new after months of play. My PXG’s are starting to show more wear after a month. Both are great irons. I just think that the PXG’s forgiveness wins for my game. Another great review! Thanks
Recommendation for yall, when Ian is talking about the looks of the clubs and the thickness of the topline/ length of the clubhead, it would be very nice to actually see it. Just show us what he's talking about, as right now we have no idea what they look like from this video.
Love that idea!! Get more synced up with the images and the description. 👌🏻
Also the price point for the 0317T vs the rest in the category is really good. Best bang for buck in a quality iron.
I was waiting for this video...and it did not disappoint. I currently play TM combo P7MC and P770. I walked into PXG to buy the 0317 CB. I wanted solid bodies with more forgiveness than the P7MC...but walked out w a full set of 0317T's. They felt like solid bodies to me. 7 iron swing speed is about 87 mph, a little slower than your test. My numbers and dispersion were close but the T series was amazing. I bought the extreme dark version. They look awesome. The shaft I'm having installed at Club Champion is LA Golf AXS 105x. Can't wait to play golf with the new sticks!
Glad we'll be able to help your game and install those shafts for you! That sounds like an awesome set of clubs for you.
Thank you, I agree!
The last three sets of irons have been Mizuno, Callaway, and Titleist until I tried PXG. I was fitted for the 0311P Gen 6 and have not looked back. I added the Black Ops Driver and Hybrid, along with the 0311XF Gen 6 Hybrid. The Bat Attack putter is excellent as well. I agree the brand is no longer inferior to any other brand.
Ian needs a combo set of the T and CB sounds like a contender to kick the 150s out of the bag? But I’ll tell you what. Over the years of watching this channel your swing has become tremendously better. You can visually see the work you’ve put in. Good on you Ian
You guys consistently cover all the details that REAL golfers want to hear. Good Job!
That’s why I put in a hybrid and pulled out my 4 iron. My 5 and 4 iron were going to close of the same distance. Still carry a 3 and 5 wood.
My 0211st are 🐐. I actually bought a t150 set and the pxg blades so far are still better. Equal performance but better feel.
Great having you in the #PXGTroops, Zachary 💯 ^Chelsea
They look great. Be great to see an 0311t vs the 0317t looks to me like they just lost the screws from the 0311 and otherwise are a very similar head. may be a great looking combo with the 0317 blade short irons
Yes lets see this comparison!
I wish these were out before I bought my Pings’. The black finish would look great in my bag!
Going for a full bag fitting tomorrow at PXG Orlando ! 🤞
Thanks for the vid. Was stuck between the t150s and the 0317 ts.. The feel and the Consistency of the pxgs eventually won me over
I was thinking about getting the 317CBs, decided to go with the Takomo 301CB/MB combo set instead. Absolutely love them.
Surprised you didn't build the t with same LZ shaft.... since you're being so detailed and sincere on results
Also surprised hollow body wasn't longer! Club head speed accounted for difference...
I have a set of the PXG Gen 3 Ps/Ts combo and I have loved them. Fantastic irons. It might be time for an upgrade with the new Ts.
Not sure if this is helpful for anyone, but if you're a "blue" fitting on ping (one degree up) go standard on these PXG 0317 T's. I went 1 degree up on the PXGs but it's half a degree more than the ping one degree up AND also a quarter inch longer shaft. Standard in these would play very similar to the blue ping fitting
Very interested in the comparison of this with the new Mizuno 245, T200, etc.
I can’t wait to get fit for these. Going to PXG in a couple weeks and hoping to build an awesome set
I am starting to lean more and more to these. I tested the i230 and loved them but will need to try these to compare before deciding
I play gen3 t, havent really loved the look of the gen5 and 6, so im so excited to check these new 0317t out.
Very impressive! I will need to look into PXG one day for a new set of irons.
I think people write off pxg when it comes to their newer “pro” level irons. I recently got fit into the 0317 CB irons and they’re the nicest irons I’ve ever had. Super soft and forgiving. Wouldn’t be surprised to see more better players gaming this line of iron
I have been waiting in anticipation on this one! Great feedback. The T's will be my next set - in all black 😛 Going to get fitted next weekend.
We're excited to welcome you in! 😄 ^Chelsea
I would like to see a comparison between PXG 0317T and Mizuno 243. I have hit the Mizuno 243s and they are super nice. I have a fitting with PXG next week after which I will decide which irons will be in my bag for 2024. Thanks
Please update after your fitting. I am looking g at the exact same clubs as you
My next up coming purchase. I think the 0317T’s look great
Like to know how they’d match up with Callaway Pro’s
Would like to see how these compared to the old 311t
Tested these vs Mizuno 245, these for me felt better. Look great at address - can’t see any junk in the trunk but enough top line for confidence
Which one was more forgiving?
Ian, do you think these are more forgiving than T150s? I was fitted for both and found these to be significantly more forgiving and at $40 less an iron it seems like a great deal!
I didn’t notice that but I feel my T150’s are really dialled in for me so that always makes a huge difference.
I found the pxgs to be more forgiving than the t150s🎉went with 0317ts
Have they gotten rid of the occasional flyer? That's my only complaint about my old 311t irons.
At some point in your iron testing can you show how an iron performs with a shaft comparison? For example: PXG 0317T data with Nippon Modus 120 vs. Nippon Modus 115 vs. Dynamic Gold Tour Issue 120 (120g class)….or Nippon Modus 125 vs. Dynamic Gold Tour Issue vs. Project X (125g-130g class)? Seems like this data could be beneficial to see how an individual/specific iron may perform better or worse based upon shaft selection.
I have played mizuno MP range my whole life and thought I needed some more forgiveness. Thought about PXG but didn’t like the marketing loved the look of the irons. Went I 230 and I have struggled with them all season thinking I will go back to forged rather than hollow body playing of 6
Did anyone else notice the giant jump in swing speed with the 4 iron? 97 mph with the T compared to 95 with the CB? Looks more like a few misreads rather than better efficiency from the CB.
What was the feeling difference? And sound?
The iron swing looks so dialed Ian. Is this from the elephant trunk work with Cowx? How do the 0317Ts stack up against the ZX7 mkii? You guys don’t seem to be as high on the new ZX7s as you have in the past. Will these spin a little more and be more forgiving on thins?
This seems like a much fairer test, the 0317T versus the T150. The 0317CB vs the T150 test didn't really prove much, other than a slightly stronger loft club with more tungsten down low hits it farther and higher.
Any comparison between 0317T vs 0311 T Gen5? Thank you,
Guys in your opinion is the T as easy to hit as the gen5 or gen 6 irons
Beautiful looking irons 👌
curious what happens with these sets they test afterwards 👀
How would you compare the Gen 5 0311 T irons to these?
Had a PXG fitting and thought I would get the P but the T was much better feel, look and dispersion. Really no difference in distance either.
Still watching the ads but I have been waiting for this review
I currently game the 0211 ST irons. How will these compare ?
Good stuff fellas… The Wee Man got it going … nice to see that for a change!!!!!! #thatshammered
Can't wait until you guys test the new Mizuno 245 irons
we need a head to head with the P770
How do they perform vs gen 5 iron
Something to note. These aren't a distance iron. They are the first hollow body iron designed only for spin and accuracy while completely disregarding any distance motivations.
Is that the difference between this 0317t and the 0311t series? Or just marketing differently?
I play the gen1 0311t. I never thought of it as a distance iron but maybe... I'd like to know what changing to the 0317t would add for me.
Nice! I'd love to see you guys test out irons from a company called Arias, also Canadian. They make irons with absolutely zero offset, would be cool to see how you guys break down the effects of no offset, if any. I've been playing them for a while and like them alot
I just bought those. Comboed Cr16 & D23. Paired those with Axiom 105X. Best irons I have ever hit. By far.
Good build MIkey!!
Don't sleep on these. Already seeing (4-9) sets winning on tour....
should have compared the 317t to the gen 6 p
Loved the comparison. Great video as always. I don't miss any.
So i am a 12-14 handicapper currently using Mizuno Hmb irons with a light steel Shaft for the past 2 years. I live in India so getting fitted for pxg is out of the question. Usually getting properly fitted for anything here is an issue. I have been wanting to change my irons and switch to graphite shafts. Considering I play on hard courses with a lot of trees and my age being 46, what would you suggest. In advance thank you for the suggestion.
Hey there Abhi,
Switching to graphite shafts can definitely help aid in your game in several ways. Those shafts can get you to swing faster, produce more ball speed and affect your flight too. However, there's too many variables at play to make a general recommendation. The next time you travel to the U.S.A. look us up and we'd be happy to get you in for a fitting!
@@clubchampionmedia thanks for the reply. I look forward to getting fitted by you in the near future
I had a set of 2021 T100s. Bought a set of these 317Ts and they are a great iron. I also have a set of 2023 T150s on the way. We will see how they pan out. Proper fit is key. We may need to head to Canada. How’s the schedule looking Ian?
I'm buying a set of these.
We're excited for you to take them for a spin! ^Chelsea
Ian, why are white wooden tees your go to? Love the content, and the additional videos lately. Not a better duo than Ian and Mikey!
Thank you brother!! I’ve always loved white wooden tees because it leaves an imprint on the face which gives me an indication on lateral and vertical strike pattern.
Ian hits his irons so dang good… dispersion is ridiculous
I would like to see how a high handicap player would hit these. It is great watching good players hit. But as a high handicap like myself. I would like to see just how forgiving these clubs are.
As a 14hc I found them pretty forgiving!
Rather an odd set of results at least when you look at spin. 0317Ts consistently spin less than the CBs but both have good spin with the 4i, mediocre spin (given Ian's swing speed) with the 7i and PW (although PW spin is where I would expect given the 7i spin allowing for c.800-900 rpm extra per club as you go from 7i to PW)
Of course it may be that Ian is naturally a lower spin player but that 7i spin is what I get on a launch monitor from my 7i (i210) and my swing speed with the 7i is around 80 mph, so 10-12 mph slower than Ian
T spin is less on the 7i and 4i as it is stronger lofts than the CB.
@@ITS_BOBBY47 I agree, and a good spot of the loft differences which complete explain the 7i and 4i spin numbers, but PW has the same loft so the spin should be very similar which it is not - as it is a small sample it could be strike related but Ian is usually pretty consistent. IMO PXG consistently produce irons which are a touch too low in spin and much as I like the 0317T (and I really like them!) this does look to be a continuation of that.
@@justinstephenson9360Not neceaarily the same spin as they are different models, but should be close which the pw are % wise, but more % difference in the 7i and 4i.
@@ITS_BOBBY47 IMO you are mixing up your arguments. There is a 1 degree difference in lofts between the 2 7i which I would expect to translate to a 200-300 rpm difference and a 1.5 degree difference between the 4i which should equate to a 300-400 rpm difference (I work on a 800-900 rpm difference between clubs). We actually see a 154 rpm difference between the 7i and 324 rpm difference between the 4i so pretty close to expectations. Loft determines spin which is why the PW spin differences stand out, but as I said with such a small sample size that could be that Ian just struck the CB PW better
Remember when EVERYONE hated anything PXG
Nice
Old irons 😅
Gen 3 T series is the best….
Lots TT's in this video. Some would say too many.😂😂
Naaaaaaaaaa
