Yes, though that's not saying much. Much of it has to do with Burr actually having a family while Maher is a lonely old guy who loves to hear himself talk. And I say this as a fan of Maher.
Bill Maher's just addicted to disagreeing with people, but the other Bill handles it so masterfully, that a discussion that's supposed to be annoying, actually becomes an interesting one. I thank Bill Maher for giving us this demonstration, for how to deal with someone like himself. Bill Burr, is a true master in human relations. It was as entertaining as it was educating...
It helps that they´re both comedians, and that underneath Maher´s grumpy demeanor he can still take a joke (even about himself). These two area always like an angry couple together.
Subtle distinction. Bill Maher is addicted making people believe he's both the smartest and funniest person in the room. He gets increadibly pissy if its becoming apparent he's not.
Bill was arguing that 12 years are still in the same generation lol. I’m 28 years old, everyone I know are buying houses and starting families vs SIXTEEN YEAR OLDS worrying about homecoming and algebra tests lmao
Burr is no stranger to prickliness. I would actually argue that it is a comfort zone for him, and this podcast is evidence for it. His comedy generation were the all-time ball busters: Patrice, Norton, Kelly, Quinn, Robinson, Di Paolo, Kelly, Vos, etc. All they did was talk trash to each other. Billy B. has talked about it on his podcast many times.
Lots of love from India. Burr is my all time favourite..Bill's rants are absolute truth bombs. His combination with Conan during Conan's podcast is unmatched..
Maher saying he doesn’t lose his edge reminds me of when I went to see him and he used all jokes from his specials. I was mouthing the lines, ended up falling asleep. Ol’Billy red nuts on the other hand had everyone howling when I seen him.
He actually seems to think, that not challenging himself beyond his fan audience doesn't deteriorate his standup. Reminds me of Seinfeld, whose jokes were mostly funny 20 years ago, but now he's such a national treasure, that he could recite a cookbook and people would be still in stitches. But at least Seinfeld has the decency to repeatedly say that he doesn't give a flying fuck. He is disrespectful, condescending and douchy, but he's not being a petty asshole like Maher.
@@68MalKontent At least with Seinfeld I’ve genuinely enjoyed any standup I’ve seen of him and I went into it being skeptical. Maher is just high on his own supply and doesn’t understand why that’s not interesting.
I saw Maher expecting some new material, but all he did was BS about current events like he does on his show. I'd never pay to see Maher live again as he didn't prepare anything new, it was just a live bitch session of opinions I've already heard. Burr on the other hand was the funniest shit I've ever seen. Saw him at MSG and literally had to hold my mouth closed to take a few jokes off, because my jaw was hurting so much from laughing.
Maher isn't anywhere near the level of a standup that Burr is. Maher is better with his monologues. And clearly he's not good enough to produce new material so that he's not copying from his past specials
Holy sweet Jesus, I never anticipated a guest that would challenge Ol' Billy Red Balls so much and in the end Billy is the one with the emotional intelligence! What a tremendous podcast episode.
Bill Maher is a corporate establishment shill who repeats state department propaganda. When you become one of them you exchange whatever emotional intelligence you have left for apathy and a brainwashed narrative to spew. Tired of these fucking far right pro war Democrat and Republicans. Bill Maher is one of them. Bill Burr is not. Keep speaking truth to nonsense Bill Burr!😃

Bill Maher, I liked the way you both honestly talked about the contrast that one sees in a city like Mumbai and yet highlight the beauty of that. God bless. Would love to see your show in Boston next time. 🙏
Episodes like this shows you how much more open and matured Bill Burr is, compared to his peers. He could've easily ended up like Maher, who feels like a dinosaur that's bitter about the lost good ol days. But unlike him, Billy boy kept his heart and mind open to the new generations, and evolved amazingly with it
At roughly 138,000 square miles, Germany's area size is somewhere in between Montana (approx. 147,000 square miles/380,728 square kilometers) and New Mexico (approx. 121,000 square miles/313,388 square kilometers).
@@4realtime783 Part of the joke is (speaking for myself) how Americans perceive the size of other countries in relation to their own. The ones that make Alaska look like it's the size of the entire West coast?
He did an interview with Richard Dawkins (15 years older than Maher) and was treating him like he was his great grand father. I see Dawkins as at least 25 years younger than Maher

I listened being a fan of both Burr and Maher. I listened without being biased toward either one of them. I was kind of shocked seeing how many commented negatively towards Maher. But then I realized the majority of the people who commented negatively are fans of Burr and it wouldn't matter who he interviews. People only know how to stick with there tribes. I think Maher challenged Burr and made him realize he has "potential", but he has a ways to go .. Lol.. 12 yrs age difference usually isn't that big of a age difference. Bill and Bill are among the two most cantankerous comics I know of. I love how they are just bickering constantly and yet you do get the feeling that they like each other.
I like both of them, they actually complement each other's style. Maher has become a public intellectual/commentator and Burr is relatable to the public at large. I am glad we have both of them.
I keep coming back to this podcast. Its so prickly its almost tangible. Burr so effortlessly drilled right into Maher's core, it rattled him. It'd be fun if they collabed again, it's a great tango! 🤣

Bill Burr is by far the best bus comic that has ever been. Being a bus comic is the hardest job in the industry. You have to tell your jokes in between stops, your audience can leave the bus at anytime and the bus driver is your MC.
If that were to happen at some point bumbling Billy would get irrationally angry over a meaningless sports opinion that Maher did not agree with and it would ruin the show. Just ask Bert Kreischer.
It’s too bad we didn’t have podcasts decades ago.. just imagine Pryor, Dangerfield, Carlin, Dice and Murphy all talking to each other about life back in the day
@Brian Meen Absolutely on of the best "What if's" is that. I would love to hear about Prior in Cuba or Miss thang Mooney. Lol Or prior putting a hit on Mooney. Carlin talking road stories. Or what they think about Cosby now? Lol So much treasured stories lost.
For real. He figured out he can't really pull anyone younger so he stayed in his age lane. He knows he doesn't gain from working out around crowds that have no reason to understand his jokes.
Maher has settled so firmly into his own little echo chamber that he can't even fathom the idea why he would want to leave that for a minute. And you are right, that is why he has become so detached, aloof and stale - especially since the pandemic hit. That really did a number on him and very much boomerized his comedy. Yes, though that's not saying much. Much of it has to do with Burr actually having a family while Maher is a lonely old guy who loves to hear himself talk. And I say this as a fan of Maher.
When an unstoppable Bill meets an immovable Bill. haha this was awesome

And we know which is which, too.
It was a blast seeing two of my Favourite Comedians, talking about my Country. Really didn't Expected that. Love from India, Guys.
Maher is a comedian?
I thank you for this masterful comment
Bill was arguing that 12 years are still in the same generation lol. I’m 28 years old, everyone I know are buying houses and starting families vs SIXTEEN YEAR OLDS worrying about homecoming and algebra tests lmao
“It’s understanding that makes it possible for people like us to tolerate a person like yourself.” ~Ferris Bueller
I like how Bill B. rolls with Bill M's prickliness, makes for a great podcast. Love them both.
Yeah, I love them both, Bill Burr for a proper good laugh and Bill Maher for curing my insomnia -Zzzzz!
Dude prickliness describes it perfectly!
I love how Bill wants to get upset with Bill, but Bill's so hilarious its hard to not like Bill. Bills so good at "letting it go" and keeping it fun
Which bill you talking about here haha

Maher saying he doesn’t lose his edge reminds me of when I went to see him and he used all jokes from his specials. I was mouthing the lines, ended up falling asleep.
Ol’Billy red nuts on the other hand had everyone howling when I seen him.
You were mouthing the jokes.... What the actual fk
What a tremendous podcast episode.
this was the first thing i could not turn off since the super bowl or something
Bill Maher is a corporate establishment shill who repeats state department propaganda. When you become one of them you exchange whatever emotional intelligence you have left for apathy and a brainwashed narrative to spew. Tired of these fucking far right pro war Democrat and Republicans. Bill Maher is one of them. Bill Burr is not. Keep speaking truth to nonsense Bill Burr!😃

Bill Maher, I liked the way you both honestly talked about the contrast that one sees in a city like Mumbai and yet highlight the beauty of that. God bless. Burr’s ability to flow flawlessly from topic to topic is god damn perfect.
Episodes like this shows you how much more open and matured Bill Burr is, compared to his peers. He could've easily ended up like Maher, who feels like a dinosaur that's bitter about the lost good ol days. But unlike him, Billy boy kept his heart and mind open to the new generations, and evolved amazingly with it
ehh Maher comes off pretty well here
To be fair Maher is also a lot older than Burr.
Bill Maher is the picture of Fading relevance. He hasn't been to a grocery store in 20 years and it shows

@@4realtime783 Part of the joke is (speaking for myself) how Americans perceive the size of other countries in relation to their own. @user-vq7jd2rh4u how do you sleep at night you pos?
@@janesackville-faught668 that's right.. I totally agree.. Bill Maher outsmarts Burr in every way. I feel like he made Burr uncomfortable, because Burr realizes he is outsmarted.. Everyone else here who sees it any other way, clearly doesn't pay close attention. I think the comments here are based on being fans of Burr instead of listening with a open mind.
But in this situation 12 yrs age difference is huge! ... Maher is clearly wisest. No. Billy Burr is actually an angel. His crabbiness is his schtick. Maher is a condescending jerk. Always has been.
@Oodles of Noodles lmao ya except for the first 30 minutes of the pod where bill picked his brain about literally being a working comic in the 80s

@@joescad nah Burr let me down on this one, one thing I took from this he's got too much undeserving respect for Maher.
@@eduardoescobar1906 so what do you know about Maher that burr doesn't know? What do you mean?
Bill Burr is by far the best bus comic that has ever been. Being a bus comic is the hardest job in the industry. You have to tell your jokes in between stops, your audience can leave the bus at anytime and the bus driver is your MC.
THE BILL AND BILL PODCAST!! I could watch the two of them do this every day and it would NEVER get old!!
If that were to happen at some point bumbling Billy would get irrationally angry over a meaningless sports opinion that Maher did not agree with and it would ruin the show. Just ask Bert Kreischer.
Bill Maher only gets old.

Or prior putting a hit on Mooney.

So much treasured stories lost.
Bill Maher loves his self so much! Good for him.
Bill Mahers shock at Burr being around young comics at the clubs is exactly why his standup feels 25 years outdated
"I never lose my edge" might actually be the funniest thing Maher's said in a decade.
For real. He figured out he can't really pull anyone younger so he stayed in his age lane. He knows he doesn't gain from working out around crowds that have no reason to understand his jokes.
The lack of curiosity about what Burr might say about today's young comic. That's an indicator of insecurity, among other things.
Lulz nah
Maher has settled so firmly into his own little echo chamber that he can't even fathom the idea why he would want to leave that for a minute.
And you are right, that is why he has become so detached, aloof and stale - especially since the pandemic hit. That really did a number on him and very much boomerized his comedy.
I respect Burr so much more for challanging himself and going out of his comfort zone.
These two are the Odd Couple. They need to be on a show together.
