What happened with the turbo kit for the 2.2 I didn’t see it and when I went to the article on your website the link for it lead to nowhere but a error
We are currently redesigning the 2.2 turbo kit. Unfortunately we do not have an ETA at the moment which is why the product listing was pulled for the time being.
There are no conversion kits available, but it is possible to do the swap. It is quite involved, and you'll need to find a donor car with the transmission and all applicable parts (including the firewall plate to hold the clutch master/pedal). You'll then have to reprogram the ECM and BCM using a GM Tech II to reprogram them to manual versions. For most folks selling their auto and purchasing a manual is an easier route.
@ZZPerformanceChannel I understand, thank you for the info! That's been my only issue tho, it's clean other than rust on the hood but I've been trying to sell for 2 years now lmao nobody wants an automatic I feel like I'm kinda trapped with it, so that's why I thought the swap was more possible, but you're right after all that. Just because it's 14 years old doesn't mean that it's in poor shape. I would recommend doing at least a timing chain tensioner if it wasn't done at 100k miles, if not then a full timing kit would be recommended. Past that, run a compression test, if compression is good then we say send it! -Tyler-

But what if i do what todo something if i have a 2.2 2006? What if i want to drop the engine? How or could i really do anything?
Can you do the suggested exhaust mods in California?
I have a 2010 2.2 but it's automatic. Is there any conversion kit to swap it manual or is cheaper to buy one manual?
I should just keep trying to sell
I have a 2009 chevy cobalt LS and I found a m62 eaton cobalt ss supercharger and I was wondering if it’s possible to put that supercharger in my car if you could get back it would be much appreciated 😊
I own a 09 tc but thus was still a great video and btw your car looks great
Thank you!

If you have a 04-06 model, can you at the very least get a Standalone ECU for it and learn how to tune it yourself with the basic bolt ons just the same but learn how to set up base maps and fuel settings and such? Very good video btw!
would i have to make my own wiring harness?
Important for considering my ecotec miata build off a 2.2.
My question is I wanna make my car cobalt SS 06 to have 450hp what should I do? Do I gotta do a swap or what? Please lmk 🙏🏽
Thank god I got a 2007..lol
Bought it about 2 months ago, only 120,000 miles on the clock.. Runs and looks brand new..
I always wanted a cobalt or Pontiac G5 modded af like bird man and lil Wayne used to have in the midnight club, mtv cribs days 😭
They didn't even really own those cars!! There's a documentary about it on. RUclips. They were rentals.
What’s your exact exhaust setup? Like the brands and everything’s I got a 05 Ls that I built into a SS and no exhausts seem to sound good, their all high pitched and fart can sounding, looking for a deeper tone
All of the exhaust parts he mentions and uses are ZZP parts. Check the video description for a full list of them and the link to our website.
@@ZZPerformanceChannel okay thank you! I love your guy’s parts! I bought a turbo kit a few months ago from you guys and plan to put it in soon!
I got a 06 cobalt that had the engine and rad go on me. So I have to swap the engine and replace the rad. Anybody have any tips on how to go about it with a budget?
junkyard call around.
Yep mine was like $150 for a "running" engine rebuilding it so it didn't matter
I have heard that the 2.4l 2007 SS has forged internals
i have a 2006 chevy cobalt gives me a stiff ride dont like it maybe its my struts and shocks i,m changing over to the fe1 struts and shocks for a softer ride .
Building an l61 2.2 as we speak.... decisions decisions
Do I need to get control arms or will I be fine if I dnt and lower the cobalt with springs and struts? Can I still install the sway bar without purchasing the control arms??
You can install struts, springs, and a sway bar without replacing the control arms. We only suggest new control arms because the stock ones are often shot in older models, but everything should fit with or without them.
@@ZZPerformanceChannel my cobalt just hit 70k miles so the control arms should be fine I bought It 2 years ago with only 25k! Sadly it's the Ls model but the paint and car is in great shape by the way when will the zzp intake tube for 2.2s be available been trying to purchase it for weeks and it is still out of stock
Yo man I’m having such a problem with my flex pipe breaking I have replaced it like 4 times wth is goin on i read up an seem that hhr/cobalt/Malibu have these problems anything to help
I got a 2010 2.2l ls 4dr 5 sp m 214,000 miles on the engine. Is it worth puting money onto a worn engine.
if i put a different engine in my 05 cobalt would I be able to tune it then ? as long as it was 2007 or after?
You would need a whole new wiring harness, PCM, and the different engine components to even get started. Unfortunately you're better off selling and buying another if you want to tune/mod further.
Trying to put an m62 on my 2003 cavalier never considered it might not be tunable whats up with that anybody know fs
See I have a 07 2.2 but on the sight it doesn’t show any pcm with 2 plugs just 3
05-06 can be ran on fueltech ft550
My 03 Cavalier has the 2.4......I wonder if any of this would work on it.
Is it worth putting a cold air intake into my 2009 Chevy cobalt??
One day my cobalt will do that 🙏🤣
Okay anyone know where id go to get all this put on? I kinda dont have the tools to put it on and was wondering if thered be a place thatd do it

For the Cobalt?
You can tune a cavalier pcm and change the wiring harness in order to tune a 05-06 colbalt
It maybe possible to do custom mapping the ecu with an oe replacement aftermarket unit, as for the original A/C Delco- GM unit, its probably locked and can't change any of the ecm mapping in it, without the GM specialized ecu programming equipment.
Not 100 % certain, but seems like it could possibly work out, with the aftermarket ecu unit.
I’m getting a 05 Lt colbalt in a few days and I’m not wanting anything special for it I mainly just want it to have some deeper sound to it and some exterior mods for looks it’s going to be a daily driver so I don’t want to go overboard I grew up around v8s so having some sound to my colbalt is the most important for me ya I know it’s not going to sound like a v8 😂 but I would like some sound to it so I was wondering what type of exhaust should I look into I don’t want to do a full exhaust system I’d rather just do the muffler so what muffler should I look into for a somewhat deep sound
Hey Jordan! Fortunately there are several options for you. Contact us at customerservice@zzperformance.com and we can give you some suggestions.
First mod you need is a new transmission, my over drive went out at 150000, still to this, even drove it like that from ga to oh, to move and still kicking till I fix it up lol, and still with it like that it still does 120 with 3 gears lol
I've got 175k on my original, still kicking!
Just bought a 09 HHR LS 2.2 auto for a daily. What can I do to make it more fun to drive?
Follow my steps here, if you want some more power I would recommend the supercharger kit we sell!
I tried looking for a supercharger for my 07 ls cobalt and couldn't find any with all the connections. Can you direct me where to pick one up. I've got my exhaust system and my intake set up but looking for more. This has given me hope lol

Running a m62 supercharger kit on my 2009 cobalt 2.2 been running it for 2 years on stock pulley and wanting to turn it up a bit it’s tuned on 91 octane with 60# injectors I’m going to be adding water methanol injection with the pulley upgrade just wondering what size pulley you guys would recommend
Do a 2.9 pulley
With meth you're definitely going to have some more room to go down, I'd start with a 2.9 and see where your boost and KR levels are at.
How much power you making? 👀

Yo question, so I have an 2007 Lt 2.2L cobalt now the engine is 14 years old so if I wanted to put a turbo in it would my engine handle it or should I buy a new one?
The engine is fine but I’m not sure if I should buy a new one first
Just because it's 14 years old doesn't mean that it's in poor shape. I would recommend doing at least a timing chain tensioner if it wasn't done at 100k miles, if not then a full timing kit would be recommended. Past that, run a compression test, if compression is good then we say send it! -Tyler-
I got the zzp 2.5 exhaust. Think 2.5 is to big for the 2.2l. Should just bought a muffler of my choice an had a shop do a custom 2 1/4 exhaust
Awesome video. What kind of tail lights are those?
I got a 08 cobalt lt what should I do with it to make it look better and faster.
Curious to know what the max output for the K04 is? Psi and whp? let’s say the car has internals and exhaust can be put to 3” if needed.
Usually 330whp is maxed. I think anything over 24psi is not efficient. Seen someone push 30psi. Turbo didnt last long
@@mattneal4309 my goal for “street/track” is 8-12psi on the street and 20-25 at the track. Ultimate goal is 10’s for 1/4mi but can’t afford that just yet 😅.

Can you convert on 2008 cobalt ls 4 lug to 5 lug and what's the best way to do it
Yes, you can! You would have to swap the wheel bearings, rotors, pads and calipers from a Cobalt SS/5 lug Cobalt.
When are you guys restocking? I’ve checked several times.
Unfortunately the entire auto industry is at a crawl right now due to shipping shortages. We do plan on restocking but we don't currently have an estimate on when that will be.

Hey guys just want to say Trifecta Performance will tune the 2005 and 2006 2.2s if you contact them directly not a huge HP increase but they can do a little tuning
Interesting! How recently did you get with them for tuning? As far as we knew they had discontinued support.
@@gbrunner24 yeah so like I said you have to contact them directly it's not on their website it cost about $300. It was last September 2020

@@christopherloewen1433 Ahh, that's odd, if it's about the 2.0s (even though it's really the same block pretty much) maby they were worried about people not realizing the compression differences and tuning it like a 2.2/2.4.
