All music is from Streambeats, a fantastic initiative by Harris Heller.
I usually don't watch tutorials and stuff, but your voice is so soothing and your expressions are so inviting that i had to watch it. Great vid btw, keep up the good work!
Haha thanks so much. Super kind of you to say.
Another tip I'd like to give is, instead of following the written rotation on the website, try to follow the rotation in bench videos, or even better if you know how to read logs. Compare your own log and the benchmark log, see where you are slow and losing out on time. Most of the case for low dps in GW2 comes down to being slow.
Great points! I like to watch rotation videos on half speed (which I why whenever I include rotation sections in guides I always slow them down). Being able to check your log against the benchmark is super useful as well (definitely a topic for a future video). Spot on, after a certain point low DPS is basically just not pressing buttons fast enough.
a big part of why people are doing bad dps is that they cancel their auto chains.
like on necro gs or scepter, engi hammer etc.
a lot of weapons have backloaded auto chains, so cancelling them is detrimental
ngl 10 years in and I still feel moderately skilled at best lol
Don't worry after 12 years I sometimes feel like that as well... especially when you pick up a new build for the first time.
@@connorconcarne Yea that is true I am also very hard on myself lol
Can confirm, after watching this video I am now professionalism at the vidja gaem.
You are of the upmost professionalism!
Great video as always, but now with even more quality than before!
Thanks so much mate! So glad you approve.
Such a great guide Connor! New to your channel and subbed now! I can't agree more regarding your advice about taking just one section of a rotation and practicing that a bunch, then adding a little more at a time. When I was just getting going, I thought I had to memorize the whole thing and then just... yolo/wing it at the golem 🤣 of course with massive amounts of mistakes. Looking forward to more of your content!
Thanks so much 😊 I'm glad you found it useful. I always found just learning bit by bit on the golem was a gamechanger.
Subbing because you’re informative AND a studddd
Haha thanks. Glad you found me informative.
I strive to forever be bad! Great Video! Love the " Cool beans!"
Regards, Miss Badger
Haha you underestimate yourself, you will never be bad.
Ronald Weasley 😂😂😂😂
GetGud at GW2. Opens with Wardrobe tab and shines harder 🎸🎸🎸
Your videos are really helpful especially the class guides
You deserve more views
Why thank you :) So glad you enjoy them.
I'm a casual player and would say that most of the groups I've been into for raids and strike missions, if your dps output is over 20k you're more than golden, 15k for offensive support. Maybe for organized groups instead of pugs they'd be looking down on you.. on t4 fractals I don't know, but they're (in my opinion) the hardest content to get into and get a steady dps output. Oh, btw, I'd love to hear more tips on how to git gud at fractals! Sometimes they're too fast or you need to move too much so I'm constantly juggling between rotation and mechanics to be consistent, even when being able to perform okayish on the golem & 10-man content. Thanks for the video, really appreciate how accessible you make the game appear for the newbies (like me)
Thanks, your videos are absolutly fantastic!
Thanks so much :)
Thanks for this video. I especially liked the explanation of the benchmark and what is considered decent DPS for content. One thing I didn't understand was why adding conditions to the golem matters.
Some classes do more DPS when certain conditions are on an enemy. For example, any thief build using the Deadly Arts traitline will have the intrinsic trait Exposed Weakness, which gives a 2% damage increase for each unique condition.
You're very welcome :) Conditions on the golem are super important. Like @WaterYaDune mentioned, some classes do bonus damage per the number of total conditions on the target. Most important though is Vulnerability which is just a straight 25% damage increase when vulnerability is capped (which it basically always is). for a build doing 40k+ DPS, Vulnerability accounts for 10k of that.
@@connorconcarne Thanks both of you for taking the time to explain.
these numbers are really scary
Which numbers in particular if you don't mind me asking?
Everything in the game is easy and power creep is off the rails. There's no point in learning anything just face roll
Why
4:23 Small correction here as per Snow Crows Guide to setting up the Golem: the correct options for a benchmark would be average size and average health pool, not small, as you said in the video
No, SC don't publish benchmarks done with hitbox size other than small. It is just the standard at this point, small hitbox, 4mil hp.
@@sh1ro9 what he means is that on the hitbox selection you pick "average" since its the smallest available. The three options are average, large and huge.
@@miguelfernandez4416 i see, misunderstanding i guess since most people call them small, medium and large hitboxes
step 1 : player virtuoso and spam your 3 damage spells with 42k benchmark
I know it's an exaggeration and I don't even play virtuoso but you need to be properly resetting and playing fast for 42k on cvirt. Laidback rotation with just the main weapon skills is 30k ish. Though that is still not bad considering the range, sustain, cc and others tbh.
Condi Virt is definitely one of the easier classes to play and you can easily get in the high 30's with relatively little effort. Getting it to 42k though still requires just as much effort as most other builds though.
I will be doing this as I only possess the ability to play bladesworn.
