- How to get your first mining fleet set up in X4: Foundations 4.0. Some tips on where and how many miners to use so as to not oversupply a sector's stations. Also how to use the mimic command, setting up that fleet for the first time can be a bit confusing. The miner comparison was actually using Antigone Republic ships, I misspoke and didn't catch it.

X4: Foundations is the latest title in the popular X series of space simulation / sandbox games, played as action games from a first-person perspective in a living breathing universe, with TRADE FIGHT BUILD THINK as the common tag-line. X4: Foundations is unique in its depth, simulating an entire universe of NPC ships and stations, forming a realistic economy. It consists of a huge universe, simulated from the bottom up. Hundreds of stations, and thousands of ships, trade goods among themselves. Prices change based on supply and demand; resources are mined and processed in several stages. This economy is linked directly to the simulation of major conflicts in a universe with dynamically-acting factions. Every player decision can dramatically change the future of the game universe. Step in and live your very own space adventure!

Egosoft should hjire you creating more content and guides, just saying. I started playing few days ago and your guides have made my life a lot easier!
The most concise and infomation dense mining guide out there. Cheers !
I greatly appreciate the effort you out into your videos and content. Thank you!
I've been cruising around the X4 tubespace, and you have the best visuals and scripting I've found. It also helps that you typically make me laugh out loud about once a minute. Enjoy my 0.001K subscription.
Thank you for this! Clear and concise, as a brand new player the only place i got lost was figuring out where you clicked on the UI
Thank you! Which part was I not clear on with the UI? I'd like to know so I can plan for that in other videos. More feedback is always good!!
@@JKNinja just had to rewind to follow your cursor to find out how to set up sector auto mine 😊
This looks very useful... I'm just not at the point of being able to use all of this yet! So I've saved it for later... Hopefully in a while I'll be able to understand enough of this to come back and use it! 🙂 Thanks for the video guide!
Thanks for the content, I'm following your videos closely, especially now that I've embarked upon my first ever Pirate start based on your earlier video! Having tons of fun capping small ships, but haven't capped any medium ones just yet, debating what I should capture as there's so much to consider.
Keep up the excellent work, you go into some very good depth which makes this game that much more fun.
Thanks!
I'm glad that I could help, and good luck on your first pirate playthrough!
Thanks for the guide! A long time X2 and X3 vet thats just trying out X4 and even for me with over 500+ hours in the older games its a huge learning curve. They dont make it easy to learn in game, fortunately theres people like you helping make guides! Thank you.
You should do a video update of this since ice now is much better to mine with the Boron. Your videos are THE BEST! Thanks for making them!
this channel is my happy X4 info space
Amazing! Thanks for the help!
I've never thought to do the fleet thing personally. Always thought the mimic wouldn't work unless they at the same experience level for the task the commander is doing.
They need to set it up for sure for Cleaning up your property list. Gets crazy when you're rolling 10 scouts, 15 small miners, 10 medium miners, then 30 traders small and medium. That's only early game for some people lol.
Can't imagine how late game empire makers handle it all 🤣
Good info!
Lol, I love that in every video you take the time to shit on the Elite Vanguard
I think I'm in love with your voice
"Don't mine Ice as demand for it is very low."
*Queendom of Boron has entered the chat*
lol yeah, that quote did not age well
Ice is back on the menu boys!
To all:
Kayaks are NOT dangerous and NOT part of this game ! ! !
Kayaks are awesome small boats for fun and competition...
-
Kha'ak however can be deadly !

Thus remember:

How can you controll where the autominers will drop off/ or sell the mined minerals?
I never use ctrl+click for setting up a fleet. It''s just leftclick on the new ship, rightclick on the fleetcommander.
👍
can you use a medium miner to haul ore from a large miner to stations? essentially strip an area with a couple large then using mediums ferries. or do you have to use a station as an intermediary?
that won't work, you will need a depot station
Large miners can dock small ships is there a way of setting small miners to dock and mine with the large ones
can you please explain how resource probes work, both with player mining and autominers?
it shows the resource amounts in the given radius. Does nothing for the player but the autominers will use that information for deciding where to go
How do we configure the sell range?
Station sell range is determined by manager rank: 1 extra sector per star
I tend to go for two medium miners per faction just to build up Rep passively, the income is more of a bonus.
Since it also trains the Captains, i use them as Universe Traders later on and replace them with a new cheap Captain, creating a training pipeline. Albeit not an outstanding one.
But as of now i have looked down on the Couriers mostly, the idea of using them for Nividium mining didn´t occure to me, that is valauble input.
the small miners are very underwhelming, but when it comes to what they are good at (mining missions and nividium) they perform very well
@@JKNinja That´s pretty much what i took from your video, yes.
I have yet to properly play X4, as i have a mere 39 hours play time and not played since May 2020, most of my X experience comes from the X3 games of which i have several hundred hours, possibly even more than 1000 since i first started playing Terran Conflict as a non-STEAM game.
But the small miners weren´t a thing in X3, neither were the big ones.
1:37 I try to get a Station and solid storage for mining nividium as early as possible for my research later.
nice, clear a lot of stuff that i can't figure out myself. but when i try mimic it just don't work....i have all small courier mimic one of them and created the fleet, and have the leader buy and sell stuff, but the subordinate will just sitting still. so guess it only work for auto mine/trade?
the leader of the fleet needs to complete a trade before the rest will mimic. It can take a few minutes before the rest starts moving
@@JKNinja ah thank you sir
My brother in X4, can you explain how carriers and fleets work to me? I've gotten on an X4 binge and forgot everything.
One question I've always had is how in-player gas mining works. For all the solid resources, you have an asteroid to shoot at and/or scan. But what does gas mining look like?
You have to space walk and insert a hose into the asteroid
What about advance mining
You mention that one refinery can support 2 miners. Are those 2 S miners or M miners? Or L?
2 mediums per refinery. Once the AI economy starts to stabilize after 10-20 hours you'll get a feel of how each sector works. It changes every game seed but that's a good starting point
Thanks!
Ummm, is it me or did you forget to list those seven systems for nividium?
the nividium sectors showcase starts at 1:20, there is also a list in the description
But there is no description ^^
Anyway, @Deo Vindice here's the sectors :
Hatikvah's Choice I
Hewa's Twin I
Holy Vision
Grand Exchange III
Ianamus Zura IV
Black Hole Sun V
The Void
:)
Now with borons ice is somewhat valuable
But...what about resource probes ?
sad thing i just got miner and all it does is go around the resource probes looking? for free things instead of actually trying to mine the asteroids for their sweet insides :S
Still not sure why people dislike the Elite so much. It is perfectly capable for combat. With a MK 3 combat engine, comebat thruster, MK 3 shield and MK 2 Pulse Laser it can survive quite a bit. You can even pirate medium ships with it. It can take a hit and keep you safe as you take out 4 S ships and a M ship. I have done it many times. Drop a couple of distractions in the form of Laser Towers and you have a ship that can do a good bit. I'm really starting to think anyone who says it's bad just can't fly well or are not good at combat.
Please stop harrasing the poor vanguard :) . Half of your tutorial videos should be flagged for "offensive" against that poor ship :D . Everytime this video starts I wait for the line containing the word "Vanguard" and at least "garbage/ trash" and seeing a ship being rammed out of screen by frigate.
Vanguard is the best choice for fearsome people. No matter how much pirates are around you, you will never need to fear any of them wanting to steal your ship :D . But you run the risk of them destroying it simply cause its a insult against all space crafts out there.
How the fuck do you collect what you have mined?
Press O
Mining drones collect it for the large. Press O for the other side miners
this what u shitted out here is not for beginners. not even close. this fo playaz hu playad at least month in this isanely complicated game
Skill issue
