  • Timing your turn and paddling onto a wave is crucial if you want to be catching a wave on a SUP! There’s nothing worse than seeing the best waves pass you by or not having your board point the right direction on the wave. SUPboarder explains how you can time your turn to perfection and what the best position is for your board to ensure you get on and stay on your next wave.
Using this technique along with 'paddling in surf stance' (watch video here www.supboardermag.com/2016/08...) will help you to catch even more waves. So get out there and practice putting the two together, so you can catch the wave of the day!

Loving these videos- still having difficulty paddling out through the rough stuff- I guess practice and water time is all important.

I am a newbie and when i catch a Wave the Surf Starts good. I Point the nose to the Beach. The Problem is that i am too fast and let the Wave behind me.
Than i Slow Down and Wave come and Throw me from the Board.

Hey Tim, sounds like you are just running down the front of the waves and out running it? As soon as you catch the wave you need to trim along the wave and then you wont have this problem. Check out this video which will help. www.supboardermag.com/2018/04/20/the-basics-to-riding-along-a-wave-how-to-video/
Loads other video here too : www.supboardermag.com/what-are-you-interested-in/?_level=beginner&_interest=technique-tips&_activity=surfThanks Reuben / SUPboarder
