The best moment I ever had in this game was when I was playing as Snake. I triggered an alert and was being constantly pursued and just couldn't find a good enough place to cool it down. I eventually ended up in a room that had a large line of lockers to hide in. I immediately went into the farthest to the right and waited. Not five seconds later, almost a dozen guards file in, some with riot shields and block off the exit. One of them shouts, "Check the lockers!" I held my breath as one by one, a riot shield wielding guard knocks in the locker doors farthest from mine and slowly inches closer and closer. Just as he kicks in the locker right next to mine, the alert cools down, they're all called off, and I live to fight another day. I almost pissed myself in fear.
In the part where you have to escort Emma when she keeps freaking out about the bugs and you have to use the coolant to scare them off they seemed to be coming back to fast, so I just tranquilized her and dragged her the rest of the way.
Strange. I got rid of them all by a basic sweeping method, and they never came back to me. Regardless, you are awesome in the original sense of the word for the way you took care of that situation.
To everyone who hates Raiden. Raiden has the most traumatic experience in terms of any character in MGS. He is literally brought into the game thinking he is doing something for the good of all, and later finds out it may not even be REAL. Not to mention all the shit with Otacon and Emma and fucking Solidus and Vamp. To quote a certain loveable comic "I JUST SAW A VAMPIRE RUN UP THE SIDE OF A BUILDING!"
I was hesitant to play this because I knew beforehand that you would play as Raiden instead of Snake. But I ended up really liking it. The more I played it the better it got. I even found Raiden more relateable than Snake because his reactions to events in the story were like mine. So overall this was a very good game with what I feel to be too much unnecessary hate behind it.
Raiden's supposed to be more relatable - he's basically an avatar for the player. Lots of analyses about it and whatnot. Check out "Critical Close-Up MGS2" and you'll see why this game is genius.
You know, it's actually quite tragically hilarious listening to Caddy talk all about how smart & tricky the enemy A.I had become from MGS1 all due to one night when me & my friend decided to play this game. We were just kinda fucking around with an early save file he had on his memory card & came accross the room where a group of people were listening to some kind of speach with MG ray behind them. I decided to be stupid for the sake of a laugh & just kicked down the guard on the edge, but what happened as a result was an unforgettable peice of comedic genius. As the guy tumbeled over, it created this domino effect that knocked down the entire audiance of people. That was hilarious enough, but it get's even better. Not only did the guy who was talking not even pay attention to the fact that his entire audiance went down like a mass of bowling pins of ice, but soon every single one of em' would just get back up & not notice a god damn thing! So we just stood there for a solid minute. Staring at the spectical of what just happened. And then, a riot of endless laughter for a good 5 minutes over it. That has always become a bit of a legend to me at least & we sometimes like to poke fun at that from time to time. We never did proceed with that playthrough, which is a damn shame. I guess deep inside we just knew that we couldn't top something as gracefully funny as that in this excperience.
I'm 9 years late to the party here so maybe your grandkids will see this but it was even better when mgs4 (online) had a dlc called "meme" and people would argue and treat you like a peasant if you didn't have memes.
maybe it's because mgs2 was my first mgs game, but I actually really liked raiden. More than that I identified with him much more than snake(at the time) because of his vulnerability and his tragic back story.
+DaManHibiki ! Yep! That's what they did with Ground Zeroes.:/ So I bet if MGS 2 was made today Konami would of just released The tanker Chapter as it's own game.
Now, THAT would be telling..... Haha, in all seriousness, I'll do it whenever I feel ready for it. I can't tell you when that would be, or how many Retrospectives I'll cover before it. It'll happen when it needs to!
Why does everyone hate Raiden? Dude held his own against up to 20 Metal Gears depending on what difficulty you played at. Raiden destroyed more Metal Gears than Snake ever did. He also becomes an absolute badass in MGS4 and Metal Gear Rising.
+rockah12 Well.. uh.. If you have listened to codec conversations between Snake and Otacon, they actually have hunt down metal gears all over the world. BUT it's not told how many Gears they've blown to pieces - not to mention were they even active
TheFranssiBrother I know, they're part of Philanthropy, but if you play Extreme Raiden literally destroys 20 in a row. He then proceeds to destroy a Metal Gear with nothing but a sword and his robotic augmentations. He's a pretty rad hero, in my opinion.
Left out the best part in the game in my view. The Ai freaking out and telling you the player to go to bed as it was late and stop playing the game. All ties in nicely in the story which Sodius mentions afterwards. 👍
This is my favorite just for the insanity that ensues towards the end of this game along with its message it tries to relay to you in its closing scene. Mind blowing game and so trippy.
And it had the best feature after you beat the game! Changing the characters in the cutscenes!! It was sooooo awesome to see a bloodsucking government official (instead of Vamp)
It won't change my opinion. I went in expecting a stupid, action-packed Indy movie, and that's what I got. I don't understand what people were honestly expecting.
I like Raiden. He's like a competent Dan Hibiki. I just wish there was a cheat code to make him cry through the whole game. Colonel: Raiden, your sniveling may attract enemies if you get too close.
I just finished this. The mind fuck was real. Also I can relate with how you played the end bit really late. It was super scary. This is miles ahead of MGS1 and is my favourite so far. Though that's not saying much, this is the 2nd one I've played. Now, forward to MGS3 ~~
haha - be patient! The next part will be up tomorrow - every Sunday. The next one is a long one as well. I'm dying getting these out for you guys ;-) haha
MGS2 was my second one; my first was MGS: The Twin Snakes (yes, I know Caddy doesn't like it), which I believe I got in 2009, my high school freshman year. I got MGS2 last Christmas.
DashieSparkle I think it is, but Caddy has a fair reason for not. It all comes down to what changes to the original MGS you think work and which don't.
caddy, I wanna thank you, Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, 3, and 4 have been a part of my life as long as I remember, those memories are the greatest thing that remember
I personally like the constant stream of unexpected comedy. Your editing is VERY good and all your videos are just sooo enjoyable to watch :D thank you!
I found one of the Easter eggs in the game. I was hiding in one of the storage rooms and there were cardboard boxes in there. The boxes had the Zone of Enders logo on them. I'm not sure if it's another Kojima game, but it was also created by Konami.
***** I played the original versions about ten years ago. I don't really remember what it was about, but I remember that it was a mech game and that it was good.
michael hall There are a few ZOE posters in MGS2 and in MGS3 there is even a statue/figurine of Jehuty, the main Orbital Frame/Mech, on a desk in one of the cutscenes. I think it's a scene w/ some alcoholic officer or something.
One little secret I remember was toward the end of the game, while you are fighting numerous RAY's. If you die during that, rather than saying "Mission Failed", it will say: "Fission Mailed". Actually, I can't remember if it was that part or not. I am pretty sure it's toward the end, however.
I was 11 years old when I played MGS2 and I also played the Arsenal Gear part at night in the dark too, when the colonel went beserk I couldn't sleep for a long time.......awesome game for traumitizing me
I would argue that "Incest" and "Child Abuse" aren't exactly genuine complaints. Also, I disagree with him saying none of the bosses are like Psycho Mantis. By the way, spoilers ahead. Granted, Hal Emmerich was seduced by his "mother", but it wasn't his actual mother. It was his stepmother. Not to mention he would be in his mid to late teens by that point. And about no battles being as surreal as Psycho Mantis...Fission Mailed. That's all I have to say. Those two words explain my point enough. Fission Mailed.
Your Gay Father I think he was refering to the relationship between Emma and Otacon... every time Emma mentionned her "love" for her brother, it felt off... She wanted to be seen as an adult and craved for attention from Hal. I think she loved her brother and wanted her brother to love her back like two adults would do. Not like siblings would do. (also taking advantage of a lonely teenager as a grown adult pretty much sounds like abuse/rape to me)
Man, you put so much effort into this video and got so much information for everybody. Nice work. I got the Big Boss Rank for this the other day. Maybe I should play something else? But, I just love it so much!
Though she can get annoying sometimes I didn't mind Rose all that much. But that's my opinion, in MGS4 she got less annoying. This opinion is based on watching LPs, so I may just have to play the game myself in order to fully understand. I wish I could play it myself tho, only played MGS3D cuz I don't have a Playstation.
I loved Portable Ops. It's part of the series, so I'd have to include that one as well. I may review some of these in the future, but no - not another retrospective. An MGS game a week is real difficult to do.
I'm loving these. Metal Gear Solid 2 is an underrated masterpiece. The amount of detail put into the story and gameplay is still unrivaled. And I don't give a poot what anyone says, Raiden was always cool.
The gameplay was vastly improved. From the core mechanics, to the AI, to the graphical detail. Just amazing. The story, boss fights, and characters on the other hand... The story was so much less emotional. The characters were less interesting. And the voice acting was worse than the first game.
I just watched a couple of your videos, subscribed and i can easily say, youre already one of my favorite youtubers and another fact that i love about you is how i have similiar tastes as you, i also ABSOLUTELY love MGS and Crash Bandicoot. Fun Fact: Crash Bandicoot 2 and Mgs1 were both the first games ive played when i was a little kid, I REGRET NOTHING!
Benjamin Yourface as you said Its what a certain indian tribe called themselves. If my memories correct they were located in the area now known as new york So snakes code name was an elaborate refference
This series of videos got me into Metal Gear thanks Caddy :) Its one of my favourite series now! And I was sorta thinking since for caddy's retrospectives you've done PS exclusives maybe follow with the first 3 resi games or Spyro games
Joseph Semil KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD!
This review, even though I'd never grew up with a PS controller in my hands - except for some Disney games play session with my young cousin when I was about 10 - just made me want to play this game... and above that, get myself a PSone and just play what I missed. Thanks for your video and the humor you're so able to put in it
Kojima himself said it best - 'a trilogy is a nice round number'. I can't physically complete the ENTIRE MGS Retrospective in 10min plus videos once a week, unless you want me dead. Not only that, but 3 weeks on the same topic is enough for everyone, I think. Oh, and my opinions on MGS4 would expand to an hour long video, not including spoiling anything, which is impossible to do, as the whole game closes the entire plot.
I'm only one guy. You try making a 15min video every single week covering every single MGS game. It's humanely impossible, unless you want me dead. That, and I own every single MGS game, and I reckon that people are gonna get very fed up with another MGS video every single week for about 10 weeks. 3 weeks covering the first 3 games is fair, I think.
Haha, I know exactly what you're talking about at the end, I was playing that part for the first time around midnight too, house silent as the grave, and I nearly had a heart attack. Man, so good.
That scene made me cry the first time too. Though she was only in the game for a small amount of time, the amount of backstory you get flooded with (see what I did there) is overwhelming, and it's so unexpected when she gets stabbed when she's so close to safety. The acting during the scene is amazing too cause it's pretty much made to make the player cry, or at least have their eyes water to the point of almost crying. This game is amazing.
I agree with everything you say. But the main reason I really didn't shine to him immediately is the way he was portrayed, hence why he made it on to my 'Top Ten Moments in Games I couldn't Take Seriously' list. His voice acting, the way he says some lines, and just some of the things he asks and the way he acts....sometimes it's a little too hard hitting in terms of childish and silly. But yes, I do agree with you! More people need to stop hating Raiden JUST because they couldn't play as Snake.
Not bothered. I really want to make a video explaining WHY I think this, but I don't want to start making rant videos on this channel....perhaps on another channel some time in the future.
Honestly I've already watched these like 2 or 3 times now, but I rewatch them because your a damn funny gent and it really shows that you put alot of time and work into your videos. Also fucking hell some of your little silly things you throw in are absolutely hilarious and incredibly memorable. You have no idea how many times i started saying I FUCKING LOVE THAT. over the last few days.
Hands down my favorite of the series I also love the boss battle with "the end" and if you kill his bird and eat he's not to happy about it lol, I also like how you can avoid the boss battle completely if you snipe him while "boss" is pushing him into the facility. So many hidden goodies
That Patriots bit near the end was a helluva mindfuck, even more for the fact that MGS2 was the first one I played so I was unfamiliar with the series propensity for memes.
the 'main series' would also include Peace Walker and Portable Ops, as they fall under the 'Solid' subtitle. But yeah, as I explained, I couldn't possibly do it! or could I?
I really really loved the first MGS video and I'm dying to see this one, but I'm currently playing Sons of Liberty for the first time and I don't want to spoil anything. Damn you Caddicarus! Damn you for making your videos so deliciously tempting!!!
Oh gosh darn I remember the part you talked about in the end. I actually had to pause the game on my first playthrough years back just to get over the shock.
Caddy, I had that EXACT same experience with the post-torture twist. I was playing it late and it was dark out, and I didn't see it coming at all, it was awesome.
It is a brilliant game which is still quite impressive today with the obsessive amount of detail put into pretty much every aspect of the game. The tanker level is one of the best levels in any video game ever.
This was actually the first metal gear game I ever played. A friend gave it to me before he moved away. I loved it, tough that part near the end really freaked me out too. The only other game I played was the fourth one, it was amazing. I still want to play the other two someday.
MGS2 was the first game of the series that I played and finished. Then I just sort went sequentially up to MGS4, finished that, then went back to MGS1. Now I'm working on finishing Peace Walker so I have some context for MGS5.
Farmeryeti i was like that too, kind of, as yes, i never finished mgs1 before the recent days, but i saw getting finished a lot of times by my father and brother, the only game we all played together, at the age of 4.
I remember the mindfuck part. Holds a special place in my heart for being the only game EVER to make me follow a game's advice and shut it off. Dang... that the was weird Also, the 'FISSION MAILED' screen was pretty funny
This was my first Metal Gear Sold game to finish thanks to the HD collection. I loved it the entire way though including the entirety of Raiden's mission. This was the sole reason I became sucked into the Metal Gear Universe.
thank you! But yeah, what gave an impression I was at school? I haven't been at school for nearly a year and a half, and I'm not planning on going to one ever again. Fuck school, it's got me nowhere. BUT, I have 3 jobs. THAT might get in the way of things....
You know man I can sympathize with you. I beat this game in one goddamn sitting on my first run. That bit near the end threw me for a loop. Particularly one line I thought I got because I hadn't turned the system off, and it knew.
Played through this and the first mgs game for the first time. And now I understand what you were talking about when you said there was a part in this game that scared you, I found it creepy too.
Hey Cadd, I don't know if you have seen the Critical close-up of MGS2 from bunnyhopshow, but is mind blowing. You won't see the game or raiden with the same eyes
I love Raiden, I was one of those few that defended him the moment he came on and like many pointed out, I felt like I could relate to him and his reactions in the game, which probably was meant to do that since he basically is your "avatar". Also, yes he had a young and boyish voice but, man his voice becomes manlier and darker, almost "batman" like by the end of Rising.
God, I know what you mean by the ending bit where everything goes ape shit. I experienced that when I was 9 years old and I literally turned the game off without even saving I was too freaked. Love these retrospectives btw!
For me, my favorites will always be MGS1 and 2. I think it's because they both used the formula they had really well, with the claustrophobic and futuristic settings, and that real sense of isolation and anxiety, since you know that you're not being given all the answers. I never had a problem with Raiden, he actually was a great character with a decent arc and backstory. So yeah, MGS2, one of my all time favorites.
Started watching these metal gear solids retrospectives after the DYK review of the new metal gear that you voiced and was not disappointed. Yes, at the end after the torture scene for this game, I actually turned my system off cause I was freaked the F*** out and thought something had to be wrong.
The best moment I ever had in this game was when I was playing as Snake. I triggered an alert and was being constantly pursued and just couldn't find a good enough place to cool it down. You got lucky. They always find me when I hide in there.
MrDylan9023 Glad to hear I wasn't the only one..
***** did anyone else have nightmares about that?
now thats some movie shit right there

who asked you

***** Yeah, I actually never thought of that. Took me fucking ages.
***** Hahahahaha!! I would use the C4 coolant to disperse the bugs.
Crystal Beale Um, yes. That's what's supposed to happen by default, but for some reason, that wasn't working for someone.
themaninthebowtie You sir are a genius! XD
To everyone who hates Raiden. Raiden has the most traumatic experience in terms of any character in MGS. Is the comic from Hiimdaisy?
AssFantastic
yes it is.
Oh god i love her/his comics!! :D
*Her* name is Daisy, Hence Hiimdaisy=Hi, I'm Daisy
Oh
The cool thing about Raiden was that he was way more of a reflection of the player than Snake was. Just like you, he had *no* idea what was going on.
If I'll be honest... 2 is my favorite in the franchise.
I'm not alone!
Me too
+Sam Geuvenen There are others?!
Glazed Onyx Also, the Tanker Alert theme, Can't Say Goodbye to Yesterday, and of course the Main theme are incredible.
Same

"Some really dangerous and risky themes!" "Such as Memes"
You know the word meme has another definition that doesn't relate to internet memes right?
Jacon Teroch I know but when you take it out of context it's pretty funny. To me, at least.
I'm 9 years late to the party here so maybe your grandkids will see this but it was even better when mgs4 (online) had a dlc called "meme" and people would argue and treat you like a peasant if you didn't have memes.

Hell yeah. I thought adding raiden was genius, for the very reasons you list.
You know today konami would release the tanker chapter a year before the big shell chapter for $40.
+Homer sams And then make everybody blame Kojima.
+DaManHibiki ! Yep! That's what they did with Ground Zeroes.:/ So I bet if MGS 2 was made today Konami would of just released The tanker Chapter as it's own game.
That's kind of what they did, though. Why do you think so many people bought Zone of the Enders in the first place?
They only make pachinko games now.
Now, THAT would be telling.....
Haha, in all seriousness, I'll do it whenever I feel ready for it. I can't tell you when that would be, or how many Retrospectives I'll cover before it. It'll happen when it needs to!

TheFranssiBrother The sword part is from MGR, of course. He also saves Snake's ass in 4. So yeah, pretty awesome guy.
+rockah12 don't forget that he even stopped a warship heading towards snake back in mgs4

I NEED SCISSORS! 61!
This is my favorite game in the series
I prefer this to mgs 3
Now, everyone has opinions, and I respect that, but mgs3 is the most finely crafted piece of video gaming ever made
Jake P never!
Jake P yet there's a tad less interaction with the ambient.
I highly respect this game as one of the first examples of postmodernism in video gaming. Great stuff.
Huehue, My favorite easter egg is the porno posters in the lockers and sending pics of them to Otacon (who saves them) huehue ;>
This was my first MGS and OH GOD DO I LOVE IT. One of my favorite series of all time.
I would argue that "Incest" and "Child Abuse" aren't exactly genuine complaints.
Also, I disagree with him saying none of the bosses are like Psycho Mantis.
By the way, spoilers ahead.

If you struggle to suspend your disbelief over that, I have no idea how you take the entire MGS saga seriously! You have my congrats!
Were you spooked solid by the Spooky Scary Skeleton Caddy?
like every Sunday, it'll be up about 8-10pm UK time.
Daddy, one day I want to fuck around with the codec calls!
I loved Portable Ops. It's part of the series, so I'd have to include that one as well. I may review some of these in the future, but no - not another retrospective. An MGS game a week is real difficult to do.
8:50 wasn't metal gear solid twin snakes like that too.
Yep.TS was actually and improvement of the first game based on the mechanics and the graphics of the second game.
I'm loving these. Metal Gear Solid 2 is an underrated masterpiece. The amount of detail put into the story and gameplay is still unrivaled. And I don't give a poot what anyone says, Raiden was always cool.
I am heartbroken every time a girl dies in the metal gear series.
I cried when The Boss died.....Damn it Kojima...
nobody tell him, or I'll remove the comment! There'll be no spoilers on THIS comment page, no sir!
Caddicarus nobody really replied to this comment so might as well do so
The gameplay was vastly improved.
If im correct
The iraquois were positioned where we call new york
Get it
DeathgGod What's an Iraquois? I've heard of an Iroquois, but that's an Indian tribe and Snake's cover name.
Benjamin Yourface as you said
Its what a certain indian tribe called themselves. If my memories correct they were located in the area now known as new york
So snakes code name was an elaborate refference
it just comes out of nowhere, and it is also built up during the story. Genius
fuun fackt duid yu know
This series of videos got me into Metal Gear thanks Caddy :) Its one of my favourite series now! And I was sorta thinking since for caddy's retrospectives you've done PS exclusives maybe follow with the first 3 resi games or Spyro games
Could you do jak and dexter retrospectives
he should do spyro
A Sly Cooper retrospective!
Caddy, you never cease to amaze me with your comebacks.
Campbell wants me to shut the game off because i was playing the game too long,. so I shut it off,. Kojima! Played me like a damn fiddle!
Joseph Semil KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD! KOJIMA IS GOD!
Cadd, we can wait as long as you need to make a video. You are one of the top game people on RUclips, and it's totally worth it.
MGS2 wasn't a bad game, it was pretty damn good, but The bait and switch was stupid
The switch was necessary for the purpose of the story
Then you would have copy of Mgs 1 without a point
Then you missed the point of the bait and switch. It was actually genius and puts into perspective the question whether a game should get a sequel.
This review, even though I'd never grew up with a PS controller in my hands - except for some Disney games play session with my young cousin when I was about 10 - just made me want to play this game... and above that, get myself a PSone and just play what I missed.
Thanks for your video and the humor you're so able to put in it
I really like raiden (unpopular opinion)
I really love Raiden since the moment I first saw him.
That thing about the torture scene at the dead of night, I had my heart in my throat!
Haha, I know exactly what you're talking about at the end, I was playing that part for the first time around midnight too, house silent as the grave, and I nearly had a heart attack. Man, so good.
I wanted to see more, then I looked at the upload date, just a couple of days ago? Sir, your stuff is hilarious and have earned a new subscriber!
Another great vid Caddy, played MGS3 so many times and it's always been my favourite, the video does it justice!
Dude, Ive learned more from your videos than i have in years of reading the metal gear wiki
Hands down my favorite of the series I also love the boss battle with "the end" and if you kill his bird and eat he's not to happy about it lol, I also like how you can avoid the boss battle completely if you snipe him while "boss" is pushing him into the facility. So many hidden goodies
Kill he's bird and eat it, he's not to happy***
That Patriots bit near the end was a helluva mindfuck, even more for the fact that MGS2 was the first one I played so I was unfamiliar with the series propensity for memes.
the 'main series' would also include Peace Walker and Portable Ops, as they fall under the 'Solid' subtitle. But yeah, as I explained, I couldn't possibly do it!
or could I?
sons is really a fun game I'm in the middle of playing it on the HD collection and I love it so far
I had the exact same experience with the Arsenal Gear segment when I first played it and it will haunt me to my grave.
This is, honestly, my favorite mgs game after playing all of them multiple times.
I really really loved the first MGS video and I'm dying to see this one, but I'm currently playing Sons of Liberty for the first time and I don't want to spoil anything.
Damn you Caddicarus! Damn you for making your videos so deliciously tempting!!!
When he does the Fun Fact segment his voice reminds me of Mighty Boosh.
Am I the only one?
A lot like the moon or any Noel Fielding voice :)
Oh gosh darn I remember the part you talked about in the end. I actually had to pause the game on my first playthrough years back just to get over the shock.
Agree so much on that part of MGS2.... i was also playing that part of night... that fucking bone face scared the shit out of me...
Caddy, I had that EXACT same experience with the post-torture twist. I was playing it late and it was dark out, and I didn't see it coming at all, it was awesome.
And damn it all, I've learned apparantly you've done other retrospectives and RUclips's latest layout just never bothered to tell me. Lovely.
I did that with the Resident Evil games. I watched my dad play them because I was too much of a pussy to do so. Still am.
Caddy, this is why I love you. I have thought this for a long time. Thank you.
I remember the mindfuck part.
Holds a special place in my heart for being the only game EVER to make me follow a game's advice and shut it off.
Dang... that the was weird
Also, the 'FISSION MAILED' screen was pretty funny
Man i love mgs1 soundtrack, thanks for playing some of it over this vid
The colonel voice when he went nuts gave me nightmares. I played it at about 3 in the morning
I recently played this again a couple of months ago for the first time in years. Very awesome game.
I was playing MGS 2 Wile watching your retrospective of MGS 2, MGS SEPTION
NO 'BUT'S! Now if another word is uttered from you, I swear to God I will turn this car around, and there'll be NO DISNEYLAND FOR ANYONE.
I love Raiden, I was one of those few that defended him the moment he came on and like many pointed out, I felt like I could relate to him and his reactions in the game, which probably was meant to do that since he basically is your "avatar". Also, yes he had a young and boyish voice but, man his voice becomes manlier and darker, almost "batman" like by the end of Rising.
my opinion - I appreciate what it tried to do, but the first one is much better.
God, I know what you mean by the ending bit where everything goes ape shit. I experienced that when I was 9 years old and I literally turned the game off without even saving I was too freaked.
Love these retrospectives btw!
God I love this game, I spent so much time playing through, one of the few games I can really immerse myself in. :D
Wow, you're fun to watch! You also have some great lighting in your room.
