  • ✝️ “Then God said, ‘Let the waters swarm with fish and other life. Let the skies be filled with birds of every kind.’ So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that scurries and swarms in the water, and every sort of bird-each producing offspring of the same kind. And God saw that it was good. Then God blessed them, saying, ‘Be fruitful and multiply. Let the fish fill the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth.’ And evening passed and morning came, marking the fifth day.” Genesis 1 verses 20-23, New Living Translation of the Bible
I think these are Sooty Grouse, but not positive. There were at least 15 grouse eating the needles of this Larch tree; September 30, 2023 on the Windy Pass trail near Hart's Pass, Mazama, Washington.

    How cool is that?!
3 times this past month or two, we've encountered grouse on the road while driving the backroads. No grouse were injured😊

We've never seen so many in one place. They were frantically eating the larch needles. We've had them fly out in front of us while driving also, quite startling!
