@yadrummer11 well i dont really like muffling the snare drum because it looks bad but maybe i will put an e-ring on it should i get this or the Pearl Masters MCX Snare Drum???
@tmbasser for some reason every time i record it seems like the quality is higher. when i put the videos up it comes out like shit..... i use a sony handy cam with hq what the hell am i doing wrong?
i am between this, tama artwood 14x 6.5 and pork pie litlle squealer maple snare drum 14x7 can someone tell me which will the best??? i play mostly all the genres and i like almost every snare sound
@emaculate I'm curious to hear how this snare sounds in less than 240p quality. If you could spare the time, would you mind posting a vi....oh, wait...
I can't decide between getting this or the 13 x 7 vented little squealer. I haven't played on either (and have no ability to) Anyone have any suggestions?
@xxxnityninexxx i would go wit the tama art star. The pork pie is a great drum but it isnt versatile enough for some who plays all genre. the tama sounds good in all tuning ranges. high medium and low.
@spikeman23 Black Beauty is definitely one of the best out there, but for one third of the price I would much rather get one of these Pork Pie knock offs. And plus in my opinion the snare sound doesnt effect the quality of the music any more or less past a certain point, it only matters to the percussionist.
If ya''ll want to hear more of this snare in a live band situation chek out some of my videos with pistol packin mama..... got to my channel check out the tracktor song. This snare takes on a whole different vibe when played live.
people settle for black beauty clones. every company tries. falls short. I wish the black beauty was more affordable. black magics nice with some mods come closest
I just picked this up, such an awesome snare
Sounds great!
I just got one of these for only $260 and it is amazing. Definitely worth buying.
I own this snare and love it. G2 head and 20 strand puresound custom pro wires and it cracks with body also. Sounds great in the studio too.
this snare is really kick ass.. want one...
ring is good for a snare drum. i love the sound of this thing tuned high.
Just bought it used half price never been played this snare kicks ass

@yadrummer11 will the puresound blasters snare wires and a evans reversed dot eliminate the ring???

i have mine tuned low. i love the body it has when its like that. just grab a moon gel and your set
Gotta get one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how does it compare to the ludwig supraphonic?
@emaculate I'm curious to hear how this snare sounds in less than 240p quality. If you could spare the time, would you mind posting a vi....oh, wait...
@spikeman23 For sure!!!
Why are you cutting off that ring? That's what makes these brass snares so awesome! They have character and attitude!
how this one compares to the Ludwig Black Beauty? is it true that sound alike?
World max has the same snare drum. It sounds great.
@xxxnityninexxx well if u want it to look good and muffle then i think the evans EC2 head would be good it kills the overtones
I can't decide between getting this or the 13 x 7 vented little squealer. I haven't played on either (and have no ability to) Anyone have any suggestions?
I have the vented snare.... Its like a shot gun going off.... But iv just ordered a BOB lol
Try a Genera HD Dry, or is that what you have? Otherwise try moon gel.
@xxxnityninexxx i would go wit the tama art star. The pork pie is a great drum but it isnt versatile enough for some who plays all genre. the tama sounds good in all tuning ranges. high medium and low.
between the joey jordison and this pork pie snare what would choose? which is better?
Pork Pie. You don't want to be a drummer using stuff with someone else's name on it. Plus it's much more affordable.
Tyler Hushour yeah i always thought that jordinson snare was super duper tacky. and doesnt even sound that good.
@xxxnityninexxx well you dont need to worry about the snares or really the head for the ring just get a moon gel and ull be all good
i know. my friend was on my account.
@xxxnityninexxx i would get this drum or the little squealer
Oh my, why would you want this to sound dry like aluminum? This has the perfect amount of ring.
@spikeman23 what does
@emaculate probably using a USB cord. You need to do Digital Capturing.
@tmbasser sorry bout the quality.

If okay for the money is what you want then buy one. They don't come close to the Ludwigs or other top end snares in sound or versatility.

@xawno113 lol yeah seriously. can't hear a freakin' thing.
black beauty is better but this gives more attack and is like half the price if i recall correctly.

you don't do any muffling to a brass snare drum, if you want a warmer sound, get a wooden shell snare
Not as good as a supraphonic.
