I truly appreciate all of your work Jordan. Working through your inner work essentials has been so inspiring, heart-warming, and insightful. This idea of value intelligence as the core pillar of how we orient our lives makes so much sense to me. Without that pillar, we can achieve any measure of success and we will still feel empty in some way. None of it really matters if we are not following our values or we don’t have any. It feels to me like having vq is the antithesis to nihilism and I’m all for that.
Thank you Jordan for lifting up this vital topic of value intelligence. In a world that hypnotizes us to aspire materialism and prestige, what’s lacking is inspiring people to embody strong values. As a mother of two teenage daughters, I’ve been tempted to persuade them to go after things like good grades and having a resilient attitude. While those areas are important, all I’m truly hoping for is that they grow into women who have a deep moral compass and make a positive impact in the lives they touch. Because as they live from a foundation of values, God will see them through the rest of life’s day-to-day necessities. Peace🌼

Thank you for this video 💞 I have cptsd and ptsd, parentalized as a child and couldn't ever tell you what my values are for so long, as I put myself aside for decades in every relationship, cycling through relationships with people who abused me in the same patterns of my childhood. I learned to identify my morals and identify when someone went beyond my boundaries of my own moral standards. However, that's where it ended. I've come along way in my trauma therapy, but I am blessed to have attracted you into my life 😊 thank you for this gift. Your channel is extremely transformative.
Mandy, thank you for taking the time to comment and share - well done on all the healing work you've accomplished so far, and I'm happy to provide value to you at this next transformational period. Long journey, always worth it.
For a moment there, I thought you might be drawing in Lawrence Kohlberg's theory of moral development, but you might have already (and I just haven't happened upon it yet) or you could have it in mind for another time - or it could just be wandering too far afield of the topic. My gratitude for your work is just ineffable. Either you're presenting something I'm yearning to pursue or validating something I have worked at. It really does (to me, anyway) defy explanation. When you were comparing the person developing consciousness (I believe it's an ongoing, constant work in progress) and the one without that component who might be lost in substance abuse, empty material gain, etc. - I was struck by the idea that separated them being the nourishment of their souls. The one ignoring his consciousness with no clear view of his values will always be feel a yawning emptiness he can't fill - in spite of the fact that he is doing the life work that he wanted. That makes me feel so sad. Also, I understood what you meant about being the better version and your hesitancy to place a judgement on that. Comparing can lead to lots of nastiness; I could sense your awareness of that. I would add that being on the path to consciousness development/self-actualization is... a double-edged sword. While worth the sacrifices, it can be a lonely place. I keep thinking about Plato's Cave Allegory. Many people won't understand and many have NO DESIRE to. It's simply too painful to confront at first, and it requires a certain level of humility. Anyway... all more of me trying to express how thankful I am to have found you. ❤️
Thank you again for taking the time to leave such an engaged and well-written comment, I really appreciate you making the effort and sharing these ideas. Happy to be encouraging these reflections!
@@jordanthornton I will definitely! I'm halfway through "Letting Go, the pathway of Surrender by David R Hawkins, then the books you recommended. In the meantime will listen to all your videos. So grateful, thanks!
Guess i got a new jordan on my playlist. I really enjoyed your work, and i appreciate your input, very educational and it brings me a nice feeling listening to the topic i heard in this video. I am very curious about consciousness, and states of mind that would lead anyone who reaches such levels will live a better life. I am glad i struck gold on youtube.

Sarah, thank you for taking the time to comment and share gratitude. This is a hugely important topic, and I will certainly speak more on it in the future - sending you the bes tin the meantime!
I appreciate your metaphors and sparks to awaken others. As you state, there is great depth and are many levels, as well as channels to potentially develop. The potential is exciting.
I found your videos last week, I think. there's a lot to take in here, and I will probably have to rewatch these once or twice to comprehend these subjects, but I will say that I appreciate how you teach. I don't know if I can articulate why at the moment, but once I know, I'll add it in this comment later.
I receive your feedback with a smile! Thank you, Diane! I look forward to hearing more from you and connecting further - thank you for your attention and I'm glad you're finding value here!

Very interesting 🤔........ I can tell what level people are at.... It works like this. You can tell what level people are at, that are below your level or at your level. You can't tell about the people above you..... Enlightenment has levels and each level has skills that are associated to each level. I can easily tell you're at level 1.... Anyways, I am very happy that I found your videos..... I am ignorant of the authors you spoke of.... I am definitely excited to consume the books you are talking about. I am like a kid in a candy store....🍭🍬
Ahaha - I am mostly certainly still learning many things, but I appreciate your sentiment, Joel! Happy to share these books and resources, really trying to save time for everybody who watches - sharing only the best!
@@jordanthornton I imagine the top level of one of your scales is what I call level 2..... But that's just a hunch..... When I speak of enlightenment; it's not of the kind that yogis and Buddhism speaks of.... I would say, that's the type your shadow work is dealing with.... I call it collapsing false realities..... I am still learning, the terminology you use and thinking about, how to bridge or equate what I am talking about..... When I speak of enlightenment; I am talking about dimensional enlightenment. You develop your consciousness of the otherside..... It's actually quite complicated.... Not because it is, but only because it's hard for me, to put in understandable language. The fault lies with me.... It's much easier for me to teach it, through your experience. Anyways anyone with observing ego is at level 1..... You are definitely there.... I can easily see it, through your language. I say it's complicated, because most people are not really here, in this dimension. They are trapped in the next dimension or the mental dimension.... As you say projecting the golden shadow and the dark shadow.... However, it's not just the shadow that gets projected..... What you think you're seeing right infront of you, inside this very moment, is also a projection.... So it's deeper then when, we project from the shadow..... The dimensional enlightenment levels bring you closer, to actually being here in this dimension. There are skills that come with each level... The observing ego is an example of level 1; lucid dreaming is also an example. Being able to feel inside your body, in the present moment is also an example. In other words doing somatic work requires you to be at level 1. Being able to heal yourself, is closer to level 2, but still in level 1... Anyways I think 🤔 you will be very interested in what I am talking about; just like I am in what you are talking about. I really do appreciate all the time and work you have put into this..... I definitely understand what you have and are doing.... Oh yeah, you're right about the VQ. It is actually the key to the dimensional enlightenment process..... However I am not sure if it's exactly the same as what they mean. I might be projecting my own understanding. I will launch a channel, very soon. I think you will get great insights from it. Keep up the great work my friend.... We are all blessed by your efforts.
mazlow's being values exclude 'cooperation' does it not? refers to it in playfulness, but ppl are significantly more successful in healthy valued relationship. and as for perfection? that isn't even possible
I respectfully disagree. Perfection is possible with a reasonably established goal in mind. People get perfect scores on tests all the time. Perfection can be relative and subjective. With definition, it's absolutely in the realm of attainment. Also, as far as people... in the lower levels of the hierarchy is the need to feel a sense of belonging (to a group, community, etc.) If the lower levels are not satisfied, one has little chance of the opportunity to reach the ones above it - especially self-actualization. If all your energy and attention is focused on obtaining food, water, shelter, and clothing; then you have very little to devote to relationships (and on up the hierarchy.) Since people (relationships) are addressed on the lower levels, presumably those relationships are satisfying enough to allow one's attention to be devoted elsewhere - inwardly, as we're referring to here. --but I could be completely wrong. I welcome input. I'm here to learn and grow; probably just like everyone else.
@@leeannschaffer1433 nothing wrong with respectful disagreement ) i don't see proof that perfection exists in the relative or man-made, tho it is man's upward striving towards that goal in whatever area of interest or ambition that could be considered the act of perfecting - tho that is rarely if ever free of neurosis ... i only see perfection in the design in nature, the fruit returning to the tree, the vine were the monarch butterflies cocoon, etc ... as for relationships, we forget in this classist, 'made in china' disposable, factory-farming spoiled western society, where the effort of a low-wage worker is responsible for our essentials, that community and family and those collaborative relationships was life, and a far better one imo
as well, love bw ppl provides the best results for self-expansion. but that is just an ideal these days... the degree to which one can be self-sufficient is in fact very limited.
@@sardonyxsky I believe that the completion of wholeness would be perfection - and what you say about nature involves that. I also believe that the quality of one's relationships with people (the quality of the love that could be shared) would be vastly enhanced by what self-actualization develops in him.
@@leeannschaffer1433 i suppose that's true for the complicated neurotic self-obsessed western mind, but very simple ppl throughout the ages have been known to love their families too without much effort or inner-struggle. what is this 'completion of wholeness' that leads to perfection - whose concept is that?
So it's not hard to see how EV is hardly brought up in conversations... This type of intelligence is up a notch in terms of demanding more capacity for unvailing subconscious motivations behind our actions. It's next to impossible to develop any moral or value ethics based on false premises and have it actually represent progress in our relationships. I have this former student, a teen, that every once in a while sends me messages to talk about his existential inquiries and crises. And he's been infuriated lately because he can't figure out a middle ground between being authentic and blowing everything up into space. And mainly because he won't accept the shades of grey in the infinite aspects of motivation. He's not yet able to see what brings him to dwell in such extremes, he can't be aware of his unconscious needs just yet. So, to him, the problem doesn't seem to have a solution. From his point of perception, he's doomed forever, either he keeps himself and loses all the rest, or he ditches his authenticity to be able to socialize. And, frankly, that is a picture of us all, in various degrees, right? I saw myself paddling in different subjects and depths but inside the same dynamics. That is one hell of a challenge, right there right there! It's hard not to tiptoe around the spiral, and we often try to keep one foot on each side of the loop risking to fall, out of fear and incomprehension. Damn, I should go sleep! Incredible how the videos are becoming ever more pro and fluid! It's amazing. Cheers! : )

Happy to be encouraging these reflections!
this recommendation is a gem! very helpful in working on the "Self"
Anna, thank you! Happy to show up and serve - highly recommend the books featured if you want to go deeper!
Christopher, it is my absolute pleasure to show up and teach in these videos - thank you for your heartfelt gratitude! It's great to connect, and likewise share these passions!
Thank you! Time to re-read Ken Wilbur.
This is beautifully presented, well done sir. Will absolutely be checking out the rest of your work, and thank you for sharing!!
You are most welcome! Make sure to pickup some of the books to go deeper!
Wow! This is a incredibly engaging video! Well done.
Sarah, thank you for taking the time to comment and share gratitude. This is a hugely important topic, and I will certainly speak more on it in the future - sending you the bes tin the meantime!
Loved this video 💗 Keep up the amazing work my brotha ❣💗🦋🌸
Thank you, sending my best your way!
I'am new here but i love the message. Thanks for sharing and opening humans eyes.
Nancy, welcome - enjoy the series and thank you for taking the time to comment and connect!
I appreciate your metaphors and sparks to awaken others. As you state, there is great depth and are many levels, as well as channels to potentially develop. The potential is exciting.
Speaking in metaphors used to be a problem, thankfully it's now a benefit! I agree, the potential is exciting!
I needed to hear that 🙂💛
I'm glad the message resonated, Lea! Sending you all my best!
All about the book collection.
Never trust a man whose television is larger than his library! Appreciate you leaving a comment my man!
Just found your channel! You're awesome great work! Very inspiring and extremely well articulated. Subscribed! 😁
Magnificent, thank you - I see you're talking about esoteric and archetypal themes too, always great to connect with more people who teach in the space!
@@jordanthornton I'm just getting started haha only have been uploading for a month. Just have done mostly conscious creation/ manifestation content but currently editing my first Jungian and kabbalistic in depth videos. As someone trying to synthesize a lot of complex information right now.... I really appreciate what you have accomplished here! Thanks for seeing me haha I've been dabbling a bit with integral theory for future work but I definitely am new with it! Glad I found you looks like I have a lot of videos to watch! 😁👍
@@jordanthornton also thanks so much for the fast reply! 😆👏
@@solaraesoterica The secret is spending years privately working before 'suddenly' emerging onto RUclips hahah - lots of planning and learning, which always helps for a smoother presentation! Video topics sound excellent, very cool topics to be weaving together!
@@jordanthornton yes I can definitely see the years of learning and preparation are working for you man! 😁😆👏 I've been doing integration work and delving into the subconscious for a long time but my biggest fear for years was actually putting myself out there and sharing. Sharing was my biggest fear, but as the Joseph Campbell quote goes: "The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure that you seek" 😆👏 so I'm trying my best because I know it's important! ♥️
Great video, Thanks.
I like that you brought in embodiment. Not much benefit in intellectual values alone.
Thank you Ahmed, I appreciate your comment!
@@eloymaes3756 Eloy, it's my pleasure - I agree, we need to be well-rounded in our efforts towards growth!
Thank you for this video :)
You are most welcome!
Have you considered writting a book on consciousness development? You seem to have a good synthesis on the topic.
Yes, Joseph. I plan to spend roughly the next decade creating thousands of videos first, however. Aiming to hit my 'writing years' between 44-66 - I know I will have a lot more to share by that time!
If I understand it correctly VQ refers to the structure. Do I understand it correctly tho? What would the state be if anything in here?
You'll enjoy reading Gardner directly, far more to go into than in the comment section - enjoy!
Great video, greater voice
Thank you, little raspy though - thankfully I've been given a breathmint hahah

@@miscellaneousSLUDGE Yeah, kind of crazy how this video has somehow blown up so quickly compared to the others! Happy to connect!
❤️
mazlow's being values exclude 'cooperation' does it not? refers to it in playfulness, but ppl are significantly more successful in healthy valued relationship.
and as for perfection? that isn't even possible
@@leeannschaffer1433
nothing wrong with respectful disagreement )
i don't see proof that perfection exists in the relative or man-made, tho it is man's upward striving towards that goal in whatever area of interest or ambition that could be considered the act of perfecting - tho that is rarely if ever free of neurosis ...
i only see perfection in the design in nature, the fruit returning to the tree, the vine were the monarch butterflies cocoon, etc ...
as for relationships, we forget in this classist, 'made in china' disposable, factory-farming spoiled western society, where the effort of a low-wage worker is responsible for our essentials, that community and family and those collaborative relationships was life, and a far better one imo
as well, love bw ppl provides the best results for self-expansion. but that is just an ideal these days...
the degree to which one can be self-sufficient is in fact very limited.
I reported the inappropriate comment usage. Just thought I'd let you know.
Cheers! : )
