- This 50 year old John Deere Tractor was not an easy project but it was one of the most rewarding things to see when it finally started up! Tractors have been a passion of mine since I was a kid so getting these old John Deeres up and running again mean the world to me!
See you on the next one,

This was cool, but it would have been better without the music at the end so we could listen to the tractor.
That tire looked like it was pretty much falling apart before you even started
The everything looked like it was falling apart before they started
I love old tractors, the ones without flimsy frame rails and Chinese diesel engines.
Love this been a John Deere fan since I was about 4 now I’m 17 I can’t get enough of them I love the sound of them so much
try that with your Prius 50 years from today..how true..i grew up with JD's..loved the sound, the color, the feel..thanks for the memories...now..get tires..
You guys rock, today generation wouldn’t know what to do with it.. make it run great again 😊
This makes me appreciate my Grandfather and how he must have lived. Oh to have been able to spend a day with him back in his day. 🙏🙏
I feel ya, Jason. My Grandpa was everything to me.
A couple of friends of mine restore old tractors it's amazing how easy it can be to get them to start
That so cool I remember having a old John deer like that ours was a 1950 it goes to show people that alot of these tractors will run thanks for the memories of me on the farm
Glad to see the old boy still runs, love the sound of old engines. Be safe. Peace.🇺🇸
"Try and do that shit to your prius in 50 years " thats fucking gold
When thattractor came out of the garage. Engine sounding mixed with that music it's like epic glorious moments. Well done ✌✌✌👏👏👏👏
Years ago I had a tractor like that and I still use old tractors
When I was a young kid my gpa had a old johnny pop. his was old enough you had to spin the fly wheel. As a young kid I learned how to crank it over and start it. After he died there was a farm auction. So when it came time to sell it I cranked it over and fired it up.The farmer who bought it said if a young kid can start it that easy it must be a good tractor.
Hey Steve, there is nothing more satisfying than getting old iron like that running again. 👍
I got 1 of my own and I’m 15 I bought it when I was 11 and my dad has 4 more 2 cylinders and I’d buy that one from you in a heart beat
I also kinda didn’t like what you did with those rims cause if they are factory round spokes they’re something a lot of people are looking for and people are payin a pretty penny for those and if that front single is a factory round spoke I’ve never seen one and that whole front spindle is worth a pretty penny to I’d restore that thing to the fullest
You're absolutely right. There is something satisfying getting these old gals running again. I'm currently rebuild a 52 jd b. Can't wait for the bock to return from the machinist to put it all back together!
Steve, that old girl is older than 50 yrs!! This beast was made in the 1950's. Tractors made in the 50's had the dually front wheel, or the single front wheel, which makes this thing 70 odd years old!!!
Steve Skrobot well true but also not that tractor is a BN a model b narrow front looks to be a 45 to 47
I think he means it hasn't ran in 50 years. It's quite obvious it's not a 1970 model tractor!
Nothing’s more rewarding than getting old tractors running again
parker mehlman true that
parker mehlman I’m waiting to get my John Deere Garden Tractors to run ones a 1964 John Deere 110 and the other is a 1974 John Deere 140
It means everything to a young man like men that's what I learned to drive on and would love to find that or a john deer h would buy it right now
When I hear a Johnny Popper it reminds me of when I was a kid on grampa's old farm. Grampa was the best mechanic I ever knew. He tuned these old beasts by ear.
I have a 1952 A John Deere still at work till this day.
cool!
Technically I recieved what I was promised. But I'd give my left lung to spend my Friday night wrench turning on an old tractor, at least this simulates it 😏
So many memories hearing that engine run I spent a lot of time driving around on an AR.
These 2 episodes are some of the best ones I have seen and I have enjoyed them a lot. Thank you and I totally agree that it's more about the feeling and the experience than it's about speed or power.
We come from that age of - If it's broke hit it with a hammer, if it still don't work get a bigger hammer. If it breaks - it needed replacing.
Nowadays you need to be a surgeon to fix stuff.
Perfectly said!
I've got a couple old Farmall's, an M from the mid 40's and an F-20 from the late 30's or early 40's. The M gets put to work regularly moving snow and stacking hay. But you're right, there is just something satisfying about working on an old tractor.
I can't believe you did that to a 40" round spoke. That one wheel is worth more than the truck I drive.
That's y I love my ole 82 k10 I give her hell doing my yard work and fixing my driveway and dirt road it has couple bad spots in the starter ring but if need be it's a manual so I can pop start it and it constantly gets overloaded but is just a loyal old truck and never let's me down
Steve:" It's just an old John Deere tractor "
It's a piece of history!
Sounds like a good old low hour John deere sounds awesome. Love the sound of the old 2 cylinders
My first tractor I got was a 1958 John deere 620...I loved it always fired up even in the cold NY winter's lol
That's bad ass man! Cant belive how clean its running and little smoke that has to be a first. Rim in wheel burn out cant wait to see the tractor clan roll down the strip
It's a piece of living history. Really like all your shows and videos, but the old iron tractors are special. Now you have to get that planter going and put some seed in the ground. Good job to the both of you on the JD.
Johnny popper, put kerosene in the big tank gas in the little tank. Start it on gas when it’s warmed up switch to kerosene. Then switch back to gas before you shut it off. Drive it to the field on gas work it on kerosene drive it back to the barn on gas. Kerosene was about .05 cents a gallon, gas was about .20 cents. The best part is you can start it by hand. Spin the fly wheel and away you go. The early ones the starter was an add on. Killers to, that front tire will walk straight up with no problem at all and flip over in a heart beat. Very cool tractor indeed.
Literally just posted video the other day on my 95 Jeep Cherokee the alternator quit working I beat it with a screwdriver and it started working again
Correction. The spark plug covers arent so you dont get shocked or anything like that. It is so if out in the woods or such nothing will break the plugs or wires off. When i was a little kid we were cutting wood at a friends so we had the A at their house to pull trl in the woods. Dad started the A with the can on the muffler and when she hit. Boyyyy! that can went flyin high
I remember when I was a kid, we lived in a farming community here in Michigan, in the summer when the farmers bailed hay you could hear this old John Deere coming down the road, no exhaust, I can still hear it....
Awesome video series on this tractor I love old machines like this coming back to life. Can’t wait to see you driving it up and down the strip. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there.
A B model was the first John Deer I ever drove!
Awesome job love them old deeres
Just curious, how much are new tires , are they easily available and easily replaceable? lf anyone knows ld appreciate it.
John Deere carries a line of antique and vintage tires. I have seen some on eBay but best to see in person before purchase. They range from $50 to $800.
Wait a minute Steve actually owns. A pair of long pants. LOL 😂
Til the wheels fall off ...just a great find...sounds great...thanks for sharing.....✌️
Nothing but american history
I love seeing good old American iron come back to life
Thank you very satisfying just watching it!
Let me know when the Vegas Covid tractor drive is, I will bring down a couple of old Farmall's
Up where I’m from in northern Maine I see those old tractors all over the place
Steve, there's a reason old guys like us are still around. We're built tough, and made to last! "Try that with your Prius in 50 years"! Hah! I'm still laughing!!! Can't wait for the Tractor parade!!!
Hi i am alan from India, can you make a rat rod with tractor. Please🙏🙏
Now this gives me some inspiration I got a 1936 jd ar great grandad left me I’m hoping to have running by the end of summer
Such a cool piece of Americana
Me and a buddy got an old 52 International truck that we pulled out of his field running
I do like my tech, but sometimes old skool mechanical engineering is the best, hip hip to steve
Awesome! I was hoping this would post soon! Thank you!
hey jace do you live in australia,
because my last name is the same as yours
That would suck to have to hunt down a good rim when you had one to start.
Just polished up the bead a bit... no biggie..
What a blast!
when it's running and sitting, the clutch should be in gauged-set the brake, take it out of gear, engage the clutch - reason- there is an oil slinger that lubes the bearing inside the clutch, you don't want that not being lubed!Good Job! 2) don't use the clutch as a break, just disengage, and let it flop! use breaks to stop!
Thanks for the tip!
History brought back to life that's amazing
These AR models are a good old tractor , Did you happen to change the oil in the oil bath bottom of the air canistor makes a giant difference if it has Duct build up in the bottom .PS use your wheel brakes to steer .
Thanks, great idea!
That popper is my childhood. Back in the day we had to work.
Nothing quite like the sound of an old farm tractor engine
The farmers all around me use old farmalls and John Deeres. Only the big corporation farms use modern stuff
When the battery runs down, I seen a guy turn on the switch, check throttle, put 4or5 raps of rope on the flywheel and start the engine
Got a more rare tractor then u might think. It looks like a BHN which mean is a John Deere b with one wheel on the front instead of 2 like a standard b would have. Love the videos and drive the strip idea.
I'm always happy to see the videos you post fun and informative. I love my old John Deere keep up the good work.
Instant like from me!
WelderUp fan from Europe here haha
Awesome, thank you!
Show us some more tractors man, you have built some wicked cars/trucks. Let's see you properly restore a tractor. I have 2 myself.
Keep up the good work and have fun doing what you love . And a blast. Stay focused and stay strong

Nice 👍
Johnny Popper. Grandpa was an orange tractor man.
More of a farmall fan but still good to see it come back to life.
Burning rubber never gets old!!👍
I dont care who ya are or what it is. But a 50 year old JD.. Even better!👏
Screwdriver trick👍🏻works great with Allen wrenches and nut drivers when impact isn’t feasible
Sweet.
Nicely done sir. Is welder up still have a tv show?
We have gone to You Tube and am unsure about our future on TV. We will keep you posted.
It reminds me of my dads john deere 70
I’m an international harvester man but that was really awsome
Unicycle front end even more dangerous than the double wheeled versions haha they follow those ruts and work your arms hard
I think your like me. Anytime I get something with a motor that I find i get so excited i feel like i can work on all day and forget about eating and sleeping... oh and work lol. Great job. I'd love to see more of this
Exactly! Once it's in my head I can't stop!
@@WelderUpVegas Yes.... You get me!
That is just too cool Steve. Great to see it up and running!
now thats a mans trike =) should paint a mural of choppers and trikes on it =)
STEVE!!! STEEVEE!!!! I GOT AN IDEA FOR YOU!! BIG ASS CHAIN WELDED AS RAT ROD FRAME! a frame made of big chains
Great job and video guys 👍👍🇨🇱
That is going to be sweet watching that Deer going straight down or up the Strip . Nice and it dose sound solid and if you keep it great and if you sale it great so therefore you made out however you look at it.
The video was fun to watch until next time later and WELDER UP .

Top show, thanks for sharing.
Badass Steve. Love the passion and hard work. Keep the sweet videos rolling
Any engine, gas or diesel, where you can count the RPM's while it's idling is badass!
There's not a better sound than a Poppin Johnny
I got a big green tractor in a four-wheel-drive country boy will survive
More junk yards and storage units PLEASE sir.
Very cool 46 was last year of straight steel frame, 47 went to press steel frame and straight 6 speed, does the Tag say Bn cause it's a nice find if it's an original BN model on Factory Round spokes.
that got the bead clean....
I have a 1956 JD 420 at home
