OK...Early on I say "according to Genesis" which most people will recognize this as Biblical, When referencing the migration out of Egypt and the conquest of Cannan. The basic facts stated in this video from Assyrian, Seleucid and Roman periods are commonly accepted and have non-biblical accounts to back them up. The earlier Periods use the book of Judges, Kings and Chronicles as primary sources...So, if you have a problem with that...well I feel sorry you are offended so easily...I think based on the evidence this is the most likely course of events to have taken place....Interesting Mesopotamian kings lists with way less detail (also including mythical aspects) are accepted without question.
In my Roman video, I reference the early Roman mythical kings who were probably based on real figures and in the China video I reference the state of Xia because again these basic facts are usually loosely based on real events (ie Longshan culture)
I think logically looking at the Old Testament account the more macro the facts stated the larger the likelihood of that event having taken place, that is why I did not include more of the micro-narratives during this period as those are less likely to be varifible at any point by an outside source
Whether you belive this narrative you can either enjoy it and study it more...or you can cry about it.

The age of Judges does not have written sources outside of the Biblical account...But there is plenty of evidence for kings such as Ahab 871-852 BC and the divided kingdom period written from Assyrian accounts etc...but it would make sense a state of Israel and Judah did not just appear in the 9th century BC...At this point, there is not a continuous record going back to the 14th-15th centuries BC but I think given the bronze age collapse, it makes perfect logical sense that the power vacuum would be filled...just as the Phoenician city-states filled the power vacuum in the north Levant. I think the narrative from Chronicles, kings, Judges makes sense until proven otherwise...(ie written accounts from that time and place)...So far Assyrian accounts etc jive with that narrative.

YAHUSHA is Torah Catholism isn’t the true Christianity read in the bible. Catholism is based on Roman paganism, it’s been mixed in with the ideas of Christianity. But it’s not the truth. The minority’s of true Christians follow exactly what happened in the account of Pentecost when they were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues and were baptised by full Emersion, not with sprinkling of water on babies heads. I myself am filled with the Holy Spirit and I disagree with all the Christian churches out there that say they follow God when truth is they’re all backslidden and based on paganism even the cult Christian groups. The Jews follow the Torah and reenact what is it in, so the Christians are supposed to follow every step of the whole old and New Testament including receiving the Holy Spirit with the evidence of Speaking in tongues just as the 12 Apostles did and the 120 in the upper room on the day of Pentecost this included Mary. Modern day Christianity has basically done away with this through the belief that it stopped happening after the apostles died, but they were so wrong.

While I agree, many people refer to the Torah or the first few books of the Bible as Genesis because those texts were usually together (as all those writings were from Moses)
@@joshuapinkham They referred to the first five books as the Pentateuch, with the first book being called Genesis (the beginning). It wouldn't make sense to call 5 different books with differing genres the same name.

Before the establishment of Israel the Canaanites already lived there. The Israelis had to get rid of them first. So they dehumanised them (Sounds familiar) and said they worshipped false Idols such as "El", which is strange as "Israel" is derived from worship for the God El "Isra El". This, plus the lack of evidence of an exodus out of Egypt and zero Egyptian influence on their pottery and homes etc leads archeologists to think the Israelis were just Canaanites. And there is quite a lot of evidence to support this, as the first Israeli settlements resemble Canaanite structures and their pottery also resembled that of the Canaanites..

Just finished the book 2nd book of chronicles there ( that was a hard read). Your video really helped me understand all the different clans and the area they controlled. I always find it alot easier to get to grips with complex history that involves so many different kings when you have a map for content. Thank you 👍🏻

Just as a side note, when hearing about history one of the most pervasive issues that most people (including me) have is actually REALIZING the sometimes very long periods of time involved. For instance, it is really easy sometimes to forget that when someone gives a start and end date, that could span a 500 year period. Just step back and consider what 100 years means and how much can change in that span of time, let alone 5 times that. History is really amazing and interesting, but my aforementioned point is ALWAYS a good habit to consider. Wrapping your head around an idea, but then taking it that one simple step adds SO much context, and your understanding can grow exponentially because of it. Thanks for the summary!

@@terner1234... we are more aware of it as well which means we subconsciously feel as though 100 yrs is a long time. Personally I believe humans have been around for hundreds if thousands of years. Just going by our propensity to kill ourselves and erase our histories, not to mention the unquestionable fact that tyranny ALWAYS destroys knowledge and erases it to keep it for themselves, I can almost guarantee that there have been hundreds if not thousands of generations before us. We probably simply killed off the other cousins of ours like the Neanderthals simply because they were competing with sapiens...
@Gary Allen When I was as child I played on the mounds in cahokia park and always felt strange as if I knew this was sacred ground. I'm glad they have closed it off and is a historical site now. My great grandmother is a Mississippi Chatah(english name Choctaw) and I was fascinated by the fact they had people on a reservation in walking distance from my grandparents home. People from that era say we were here before the ships and I believe them over the lying writers of our history. There's a direct correlation with Haran, Morocco. Bolivia and north America

He did this to insult the Jews by renaming their land to what their arch rivals, the Philistines, called it. I'll explain the stupidity of your argument, although I know it's pointless because you already made your mind and you're not gonna change it, arabs are not an ethnicity but rather a linguistic group, a common Arabic saying is (العربي من تحدث العربية) meaning an arab is one who speaks Arabic, Arabia is the origin of adnani and qahdani arabs who are the original speakers of Arabic, but arabs living in the Levant, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, etc... aren't arabs by ethnicity, but arabs by language, so the Palestinians aren't from Arabia, but from Palestine, they've been arabized after Islamic conquest, and they speak Arabic, and the south of Palestine(that territory is now undisputed Israeli territory) some arab tribes immigrated there, that's why some Palestinians dress traditional arab clothing.

Ibn Khaldoun in his book (the history of ibn Kahldoun) classified arabs into two classifications, the surviving, and the Perishing, and he acknowledged that they both come from different origins, the ones who went extent were called perishing arabs and are from Babylon, and the surviving are from Yemen and hijaz, modern arab historians classify the surviving into three classifications, also acknowledging that every class is from different origin, which are, 1-العرب العاربة (roughly translated to the original/pure arabs who are from Yemen also called Qahdani arabs)
2-العرب المتعربة(also roughly translated to adopting arabs, they are from hijaz and they adopted Arabic from the perishing arabs who lived north of Arabia)
3-العرب المستعربة( the arabized arabs, they are from the Levant, Egypt and north Africa, they have been arabized after Islamic conquest)
The arab league defines an arab as:" someone who speaks Arabic, has an arab nationality/citizenship, has the hopes and ambitions of other arabs"
In conclusion: Arabs are no ethnicity, Egyptians were never called arabs before Islamic conquest, could they have transformed or changed their ethnicity to arabs? No they just learned Arabic and adopted Arabic traditions so they became arab

I just want to thank you for your awesome videos. I watched a few of them dealing with Japanese history when I was busy with my PhD ( I had a section on Japanese Samurai armour and I needed to start somewhere on the historical background). I've since graduated and I'm now supervising a Master's student who is focusing on the plight of ancient refugees during the Exile period. This video helped to refresh my mind on the region's history.
People are getting offended easily by Biblical facts
most holy readings (books) are based on hearsay and stories, but a large percentage of bible stories have been authenticated by archeology.
There is no denying for instance Roman coins found in Jerusalem prove that the Romans occupied the city; stones under the Al Aksa mosque have been found with high levels of ash; proving the story that the city was burned down by the Romans. Crusader Temples and fortresses are built throughout Israel showing that Christians claimed the Holy land. You get the idea; Ottoman artifacts, Christian, Jewish artifacts and archeology prove the glorious, devastating, destruction and history of ancient Israel.
And then...……….. there is the rebirth of Israel and modern history.
@@avi3860 "authenticated by archaeology" not at all. there were never Jewish slaves in Egypt for example (verified by Egyptian historians and Jewish historians and many more). they were never deposed by the Babylonians (and as a result partially were held as slaves en mass) as well. just because one part of the story is true, that does not give credence to the rest. we know that Rome had occupied isreal not because of roman coinage, not because of coins found under ash layers, but because the Romans talked about it. they made administrative documents. they marched armies. we know it because the Jewish people had a massive revolt (the Maccabees revolt) at around 70ce. neighboring cities and nations noticed these armies and wrote about them. its called cooperating evidence, to which the bible is lacking in several eras (such as no census being taken in the area from 40bce - 100ce, and earlier stories). where as most instances of evidence biblical moguls tend to cling too are straight from the bible itself, while ignoring the mountains of evidence that most of the time bring forth the conclusion that: *archaeology in fact does not authenticate a large percentage of the bible as true*

Only Jews used the mikvah for ritual purposes.
There are hundreds of references in the bible which have been proved factual by archaeology for instance; the cities of Solomon - Hazor, Megiddo and Gesher.

Today, with photographic drones, modern rock penetrating scanners, lasers and hi frequency sound waves and equipment; archaeology has advanced to such a sophisticated degree prove ancient buildings, documents and the bible are important references and jumping off points for archaeology.

@Adam Price did I say that Moses was Jewish? I mentioned the laws of Moses (the Ten Commandments) according to the myth was handed to the Jewish people for the betterment of the world...obviously that did not work very well as the world is inhabited by trashhumanisation
Your videos are good. Just two things I suggest you do. Longer videos with a little more detail and a better conclusions, your videos sometimes feel like they end out of nowhere, especially as I'm getting more into the content. But like I said you're videos are really good and I'm not going anywhere as a subscriber.

Judah Benjamin and Levi makes up the tribe of Judah and Israel are the remaining tribes. The tribe of Israel is still over around abound Africa and Judah was scattered throughout the four corners of the earth as the bible says. All the tribes are BLACK! Judah is the so called black people that everyone hates so much. Read Deuteronomy 28:68. White folks are always telling blacks to go back to Africa. Deuteronomy 28:68 tells how we got here.
Israel is the entire group of all 12 tribes. All the descendents from Jacob, who had 12 sons and his name was changed to Israel. Judah is one of the 12 tribes and the one where christ was set to come from.
Solomon sins against the Lord.. and God appoint another king to reign in Israel. but he left Judah to the family of David

sometimes wish some of your sentences were a bit clearer/contextualized or less abrupt-- @1:16 for instance, why does David have to flee Israel after becoming popular? It's implied he lost favor with Saul, but even knowing that, we still have to speculate why someone would be very popular but lose favor with the monarch--and it seems like it provides context for the ensuing war. could guess that Saul might feel threatened, but if that were just stated plainly in a few words it would make that transition less confusing imo
It doesn’t need to be explained for those who have actually read the Bible. He did lose favor with Saul because Sauls throne was promised to David and the people loved David. So Saul was jealous and tried to kill David (Sauls son in law) multiple times. To state that plainly would make this a lot longer than 5 minutes. We should listen to this video and then fill in the gaps ourselves with research.
The Book of 1 Samuel also states that David is unwilling to fight Saul because Saul has God's anointing, and so didn't want to harm him. Saul still wanted to harm David, so David fled until Saul was killed I'm battle against the Philistines.

But it's as old as the rest of the planet. Just people haven't written about it - or just don't know :) For me pre-history is also history - there was something even if we can't prove any of it. And even after written sources: how true are they?

Luis Luis, to answer your question, look no further than several archaeological finds for proof (if you don't want to accept the Torah as your answer). First, The 'Silver Scroll': dated to around 700 BCE, is a silver scroll that has the priestly blessing scrawled on it. the dating proves several things. A) that The Jews were in the Land of Israel/Canaan prior to 586 BCE (the date of when Babylonians razed Solomon's Temple to the ground, and took the Jewish elites into captivity, effectively ending the 'first' state of Judea) and B) That Paleo-Hebrew goes back to at LEAST 700 BCE, if not well before then. Second, Hezekiah's Tunnel Tablet inscription; prior to Judea being taken over by the Babylonians, the Assyrian king attempted to conquer Judea. Having knowledge of the Assyrian King's intentions, King Hezekiah, expanded the walls around Jerusalem and fortefied the water access to the Gihon Spings (the only water source in Jerusalem). In order to do this, he had to have a HUGE tunnel built from two different sides so that they would connect the spring (outside the city walls) to the inside of the old city. When this feat was accomplished, he had an inscription scrawled inside the tunnel to forever document the occassion. That inscription was found by the british archaeologist Sir Charles Warren. Lastly, there is an old Assyrian Tablet describing/pictograph where King Jehu of Israel (approx. 800 BCE) paying homage and 'submitting' to the King of Assyria SHELMANASAR, this is just prior to Assyrian conquest of the northern kingdom of Israel. There is AMPLE proof that this area is the native home of the Israelites/Jews and there is written, archaeologic and historic proof of this inside the land as well as the surrounding areas. All one has to do is search with an open mind and forget ones prejudice.

I know is a lot of history to cover in just one video, but this video is so light that leave people with more questions that answers. I would prefer a longer video or a series of videos. And explain things like who are the seleucids
I think as my channel expands I will see which condensed histories have the most interest, and do more in-depth videos on those topics. I.E My India and Spain videos showed people had interest so I did further videos on those regions.
If this video does well I may do a video concerning just the period of Judges, Divided kingdom period or just on the Hasmonean dynasty. My China video did well so I got a more focused video on a part of that history coming up.
I am just one guy making these videos with close to zero funding and limited expendable time so I don't want to spend 20+ hours making a video and no one watch it

I thought you did a pretty good job of melding the various historical sources for this narrative. The Israelites, IIRC, originally went to Egypt to escape one of those periods of hardship you describe in the Canaanite video, and were later treated less favorably by what I assume to be a change in dynastic leadership and therefore left for "greener pastures".
I found it telling that so many of the commenters are so pro- or anti- Christianity as a religion that they can't allow for there to be some validity to the broad historical content of the Bible. It's easy to quote historical sources like the Egyptians and Hittites based on what we have found of their writings, but I hope people keep in mind that each group will report historical events from their perspective and in the best possible light regarding their actions. None of the accounts that we have are unbiased, which is why finding multiple sources discussing the same event[s] is so invaluable for historians - and why historically conquerors have been so assiduous in destroying the records of the previous rulers.

The Bible is not a historical text. The stories prior to Josiah and the Babylonian Exile are not supported by archeological records and accepted evidence-based narratives. Christian theology does not have a problem with this.

I also fully understand that religious texts, especially in this part of the world, were designed to interpret historical events and explain human leaders' actions in the most positive light. As such, I see the Bible in the same light as the religious texts from Egypt and Mesopotamia, albeit from an oral tradition. Basically I am saying that I would no more accept or dismiss everything in it than I would accept or dismiss everything said by the major political powers of the day.

Some parts that probably did deserve to be mentioned was the history of the Judeans under Hellenistic monarchies, where the Jews became integrated into the Hellenistic elite and also the history of the Hasmoneans to a greater degree, including the conquest and forced conversions of the neighbouring peoples, such as the Idumeans.

The original name for Samaria is Shomron.
Palestina is the Roman name for the region.
It was initially Judaea (from Judah) before being changed into Palestina in the 2nd century.
Also in the tribes map, Ruben and Simeon are latinized/english versions of the original names which were Reuven and Shim'on. But overall he got a lot of names right and it's evident that he tried to find the original ones rather than whatever the English translations say.

I was surprisingly old when I learned that the Judeans and the Israelites were different people.
They’re not though, in Antiquity and till today, Judeans (which is another word for Jews and in Hebrew is Yehudim) is just a later name for Israelites (in Hebrew is Yisraelim). All Israelites became known as Judeans after the region was using the name Judea (Yehuda in Hebrew). Even when there were two kingdoms there, the people who lives in the kingdom of Judea were still Israelites, because the term comes from the 12 tribes era before they had established kingdoms.

If somebody is bothered by Bible being mentioned in a video concerning the Jewish people - wake up! What did you expect - where are they first mentioned? Such a small nations, who would write much about them, the great nations during their days of power. What did Rome write about? What did Egypt write about? Mostly about themselves. So did the Jewish - but at least they wote something about their neighburs too, besides when Israel conquerd them. Which didn't happen much.
And they didn't write only about themselves - they wrote also about God. God of all the nations. Ususally when texts are ethnically very self-centered, they stay local, they don't wake up international interest. But Christianity has spread all over this planet. Why have people from so many so different cultures thought God speaks for us from that book? And even though it says we can't do nothing to save ourselves from our own evil, so many find that to be the tuth. While other religions advice 'you should do this and this to save yourself, to enlighten, to purify yourself, to smarten up, to lose your lust for life, to lose weight, to gain muscle, to get money, to disconnect from life, to connect to life' ...
What other sources we have of the Jews, of Israel? Some. Yeah, use them as well, all we can access - and with the same critique you're ready to put on the Bible. People use Veda literature when examining Indian history. Or Chinese religious texts when studying Chinese history. Chronicles of Nestor when studying Russian history. They can't be bypassed, but of course they can't be the only sources.
In the Midde East the Gilgamesh or the Egyptian Book of Death, Greek mythology (which is similar, but not 1 to 1 the same as Edda) or Roman accounts are not necessarily any more truthful than Bible - can be even more wrong in some cases. At any rate they have references to their divinities and beliefs, worldview. Any critical eye when reading those views?
Greek stories sound more like the fables of the folklore, middle ages and later - very fairytale like with their monsters (bogies of our fearful minds), and 'knights' of bronze armor. That's more believable than Bible? The squabbly soap opera of 'gods'? It's like watching the Bold and Beautiful, King Arthur, or any medieval, or modern court schemes. Very human, seldom humane.
How often the very so to say atheistic, scientifique, scholars build schools with Greco-Roman columns, and put the statues of the Greek and Roman gods in their hallways. Not once the answer is: 'Because they represent the human architypes, reminds us of the wisdom in their stories, we're not worshipping them, or course!' Seems no problem to them that gods and demigods jump around in their academically approvable stories. They don't believe they believe the old Greek and Roman mythologies.

The prophets writing the Bible often say: 'This and this year of King This-and-that, the word God came to me'. The relationship they had with God made it very likely a person like that would not easily lie - not likely. They knew from their history that it may result in death. So they didn't play power games etc. Or you can claim that of course, but don't be too hasty to judge. How you can know they were not sincere when writing, you know better what happened then?
What comes to Bible, be critical if you like, it's a pretty good approach. But even critique has it's limits: We have to eat, drink, use toilet etc. without always questioning our needs or even choices available. - God actually wants us to be honest and ask questions. He doesn't want slavish 'yes-boys'.
And the contact can be established, hence the prayer. It's basically nothing more than speaking from your heart to God. Oh, and listening. The ratio is likely 1:2 - One mouth, or heart - 2 ears. He's capable of answering. He made a book series because of that, using scribes. But a straight fast dial connection can be established. Prayer.
Once you have connection with God, it's pretty useless to argue if there is God or not. Like if you have contacts with your mother and father, you know they exist. But if you have never even seen them, it is tougher of course. And the misusing parents - oh b... Yeah. Then it's hard to beliee God is good.But God creates life. Even if your parents did everything else wrong, you got your body from them, and your mind is now here reading these things, thinking.
Knowing God is knowing a person (be it rather impressive one - but a person), the oldest father of our family called mankind. It's not about what's this atom composed of. We can study those too. But he's more interested in - How are you, you feeling fine? Or: Why the anger, fear, despise in your eyes, the glee in your eyes? Why the doubt? Or if you don't doubt, it's: How are you, my dear child?

Archelaus was tetrarch of Judea, Samaria and Idumea (the southern part of Palestine), Antipas ruled over Galilee and Perea, while Philip was tetrarch of Iturea and Trachonitis (north-east). Archelaus was deposed in 6 AD and Judea (with Samaria and Idumea) became a roman province ruled by a prefect (ex. Pontius Pilate). Latter-day Saints Do Not Accept the Creeds of Post-New Testament Christianity
Scholars have long acknowledged that the view of God held by the earliest Christians changed dramatically over the course of centuries. Early Christian views of God were more personal, more anthropomorphic, and less abstract than those that emerged later from the creeds written over the next several hundred years. The key ideological shift that began in the second century A.D., after the loss of apostolic authority, resulted from a conceptual merger of Christian doctrine with Greek philosophy.
Latter-day Saints believe the melding of early Christian theology with Greek philosophy was a grave error. Chief among the doctrines lost in this process was the nature of the Godhead. The true nature of God the Father, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. As a consequence, Latter-day Saints hold that God the Father is an embodied being, a belief consistent with the attributes ascribed to God by many early Christians. This Latter-day Saint belief differs from the post-New Testament creeds.
Whatever the doctrinal differences that exist between the Latter-day Saints and members of other Christian religions, the roles Latter-day Saints ascribe to members of the Godhead largely correspond with the views of others in the Christian world. Latter-day Saints believe that God is omnipotent, omniscient, and all-loving, and they pray to Him in the name of Jesus Christ. They acknowledge the Father as the ultimate object of their worship, the Son as Lord and Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit as the messenger and revealer of the Father and the Son. In short, Latter-day Saints do not accept the post-New Testament creeds yet rely deeply on each member of the Godhead in their daily religious devotion and worship, as did the early Christians.
Latter-day Saints Believe in a Restored Christianity
Another premise used in arguing that Latter-day Saints are not Christians is that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints does not descend from the traditional line of today’s Christian churches: Latter-day Saints are not Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, or Protestant. Latter-day Saints believe that by the ministering of angels to Joseph Smith priesthood authority to act in God’s name was returned or brought back to earth. This is the “restored,” not a “reformed,” church of Jesus Christ. The Latter-day Saint belief in a restored Christianity helps explain why so many Latter-day Saints, from the 1830s to the present, have converted from other Christian denominations. These converts did not, and do not, perceive themselves as leaving the Christian fold; they are simply grateful to learn about and become part of the restored Church of Jesus Christ, which they believe offers the fulness of the Lord’s gospel, a more complete and rich Christian church-spiritually, organizationally, and doctrinally.
Members of creedal churches often mistakenly assume that all Christians have always agreed and must agree on a historically static, monolithic collection of beliefs. As many scholars have acknowledged, however, Christians have vigorously disagreed about virtually every issue of theology and practice through the centuries, leading to the creation of a multitude of Christian denominations. Although the doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints differs from that of the many creedal Christian churches, it is consistent with early Christianity. One who sincerely loves, worships, and follows Christ should be free to claim his or her understanding of the doctrine according to the dictates of his or her conscience without being branded as non-Christian.
Latter-day Saints Believe in an Open Canon
A third justification argued to label Latter-day Saints as non-Christian has to do with their belief in an open scriptural canon. For those making this argument, to be a Christian means to assent to the principle of sola scriptura, or the self-sufficiency of the Bible. But to claim that the Bible is the sole and final word of God-more specifically, the final written word of God-is to claim more for the Bible than it claims for itself. Nowhere does the Bible proclaim that all revelations from God would be gathered into a single volume to be forever closed and that no further scriptural revelation could be received.
Moreover, not all Christian churches are certain that Christianity must be defined by commitment to a closed canon. In truth, the argument for exclusion by closed canon appears to be used selectively to exclude the Latter-day Saints from being called Christian. No branch of Christianity limits itself entirely to the biblical text in making doctrinal decisions and in applying biblical principles. Roman Catholics, for example, turn to church tradition and the magisterium (meaning teachers, including popes and councils) for answers. Protestants, particularly evangelicals, turn to linguists and scripture scholars for their answers, as well as to post-New Testament church councils and creeds. For many Christians, these councils and creeds are every bit as canonical as the Bible itself. To establish doctrine and to understand the biblical text, Latter-day Saints turn to living prophets and to additional books of scripture-the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price.
Together with the Old and New Testaments, the Book of Mormon supports an unequivocal testimony of Jesus Christ. One passage says that the Book of Mormon “shall establish the truth” of the Bible “and shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father, and the Savior of the world; and that all men must come unto him, or they cannot be saved.” In its more than six thousand verses, the Book of Mormon refers to Jesus Christ almost four thousand times and by over one hundred different names: “Jehovah,” “Immanuel,” “Holy Messiah,” “Lamb of God,” “Redeemer of Israel,” and so on. The Book of Mormon is indeed “Another Testament of Jesus Christ,” as its title page proclaims.
Conclusion
Converts across the world continue to join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in part because of its doctrinal and spiritual distinctiveness. That distinctiveness flows from the knowledge restored to this earth, together with the power of the Holy Ghost present in the Church because of restored priesthood authority, keys, ordinances, and the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The fruits of the restored gospel are evident in the lives of its faithful members.
While members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have no desire to compromise the distinctiveness of the restored Church of Jesus Christ, they wish to work together with other Christians-and people of all faiths-to recognize and remedy many of the moral and family issues faced by society. The Christian conversation is richer for what the Latter-day Saints bring to the table. There is no good reason for Christian faiths to ostracize each other when there has never been more urgent need for unity in proclaiming the divinity and teachings of Jesus Christ.

There are some interesting facts presented in this video. However, it's important for us to remember how it all got started. Jacob (Ya'aqob), later known as Israel (Yisra'el), purchased it as an inheritance for he & his descendants forever. Genesis (Bereshith), as well as the Book of Jasher (Yashar), gives a lot more details on how it all came about. We highly recommend it as a useful source for information & history. Hope this helps.

The book was written AFTER the destruction of the temple. The writer had Jesus say that because the temple was already destroyed.
