I'm a Triumph Street Twin owner and rode a friend's brand new RE Interceptor today. Frankly, I'm bloody impressed with the fit and finish, attention to small details, the looks, and the damn smooth engine and even smoother gear shifts.....WOW! Only crib.....the exhausts are oversized and look ugly.
I’d go for RE over Triumph any day.. what a value for money yet the bikes are still interesting enough. These bikes show RE can make sensible bikes too. Altho i’d go for a more characterful bike for my money. They should come out with a bigger and slightly faster Classic with the vibration dialed down a bit at high speed or the kx 838. Then i’d be very excited indeed.
The Interceptor would make a fine tourer , if I was to alter anything, a clock and gear indicator built into the rev counter would be nice as would an LED headlight, A larger fuel tank would be welcomed in Europe and the USA as would a 17 inch rear wheel to give you a much wider choice of tyres.
Love the bike But the biggest negative is a 18 inch rear wheel ( limited tyre choice ) yes a lot of bikes have 18 fronts now - eg new Ducati Scrambler, but had 17 rear . 18 rear bad choice.
Not as upright nor as comfortable riding position as Classic 350/500. It still has slightly forward leaning position with rear set foot pegs and it’s noticeable specially for tall riders. IMO
stomping skipper gaming chanel technically it’s an air cooled engine. Oil cooling is just an add-on. Primarily cooling is through air flowing through the fins on the engine case.
It's still an air-cooled motor. The oil cooler is assisted in cooling the engine oil for better confinement of lubricating property. So, the engine is still air cooled!

Right package with right options and powerful engine which is surprisingly smooth. Wow. RE is ready to Take up Competition with Jawa.....
