Glad to be back with another video! What are some other productivity/mental organization tricks that help you stay focused?
@steven wadley this is so true. If you don’t truly love what you’re doing it’ll always be hard to stay focused on it
I’ve been really poor about taking sleep seriously all thru my 20s and early 30s. Prioritizing sleep has helped in tremendous ways and now I can start to even think about priorities, motivation, focus, etc. This video is helpful for my next steps!
😀😀😀😀amzzzing loving your set. OMG IM LOVING YOUR #LUMIYlightblade lamp SOOOO BRIGHT 😀😀😀😀😀
That tip about starting the difficult task in the morning is very useful. I tend to procrastinate during the morning, then after lunch I feel sleepy which makes me lose valuable time. It’s all about using your physical and psychological energy on your side
I 100% relate to this. The morning tip definitely helps me avoid exactly what you described!
You are right, Mindmapping is the most efficient way to figure out scripts. most of the platforms like Notion or even any word doc run linear and it blocks related ideas and end up blocking the mind too. I too use mindmap the most. Cheers to that.
Yess!! I tried to use notion for a long time for dumping my thoughts. I still use it but not for brainstorming
This was a great video. Totally valuable. Appreciate you sharing your struggle and thought process with regards to scheduling and mind mapping.
Same. I never follow the block schedule. But day-blocking is a good tip. Thank you!
Yes!! Hope it works out for you or helps
I really appreciated this video and I'm going to watch it again at least once or twice more until I can get this idea in my head! I've been feeling a little bit of brainfog the last couple of days and I need to get back on track. But thank you so much for sharing this information with us!
Having a system to dump your to do's and then having something that helps you schedule those to do's was life-changing for me
I like this video’s focus on process over PRODUCTIvity. I almost always know where I want to be, getting the momentum is the challenge. Thanks for sharing the simple, practical tips.
Wow that is exactly how i feel too. Lot's of productivity tips out there but trying to forever get to the core of it all
Really Glad I Came Across Your Space.
Day To Day Is Working For Me. Feeling Productive When I Do. There Are Times When I Want To Drift Off 🤔. However, When My Subconscious Kick In..... I'm Getting It Done.
You Are Appreciated
Thanks for watching!
Watching this video was part of my journey to unlocking momentum 🤙🏼 Loved it
Great and inspiring video. Your thoughts on momentum make so much sense. I am going to use this idea straight away. I enjoy your channel and you give such good constructive advice. Looking forward to more content like this as well as your office and work set up content. Keep the great quality content coming. Thank you.
Yes!! The momentum pivot was a game changer for me. I feel like I can get so much more done now. Thanks for the kind words
REALLY love your desk/office/studio setup. The style and vibe is exactly what I love as well. Great video Edward!
Thanks so much for watching!
That’s so true about creating momentum to keep you moving forward and inspired. Thanks bro!!
Thanks dude!
Great video brother! excited to see you back on youtube.
I think one thing always helps me with planning my week is doing a weekly review to see where and what I did well on and what I didn't, then make plan accordingly next time.
Yeah definitely! I couldn’t agree more. I try to do my recaps on Sundays so I can mentally prepare the night before a new week starts
Wow, this one was fantastic! So much value in this and a great perspective I'll definitely have to try to improve on. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
I will start using mind maps, dude that’s a huge tip. I would love to see more content this year 🤝🔥 great video as always
Trying to post more this year! Mind maps was a game changer for me. Definitely think it will help
Love the video. I agree with the mind mapping. What I recently started to do is a take a small notebook and handwrite random stuff. Later I will go through the notes and organize them digitally, but getting off all devices and just writing is amazing. I think by not feeling like I need to type, there is something just so powerful about it that helps me.
Since moving to Seattle two months ago, I have been struggling with my morning because I have this FOMO of being behind since so many people are working when I am still sleeping. Inherently my phone time has shot up in the morning. This video helped me want to focus on this aspect of my morning.
Thanks for the great videos.
Wow I can relate to everything you said. That feeling of being behind can be real in the morning so it’s always a constant battle to not be distracted. Keep doing you!
Perfect timing on this video. I've been working on my productivity strategy for myself. These tips were way helpful. Thanks bro!
So happy to hear that! Wishing you all the best
A jam packed video with so many great tips. Love this man!
Thanks Gene! I appreciate that
OMG. This is so helpful. I struggle with starting things as well, and I never really thought of trying the mind mapping method. Will start applying these things to my workflow starting today, and hopefully it works for me too! :D
Let me know how it goes!
Thank you for making this video! I found the information helpful especially when you simplified mind mapping. I had a topic in my head and was able to break it down easily. 🤯 Like you, I failed at doing hourly time blocking…multiple times till I gave up and realized that it’s not for me. I was comforted in knowing I’m not the only one that struggled with it. I’ll be checking out your other videos and be subscribing!
So glad you tried out the mind mapping at it helped! It definitely made a difference for me too.
Love this type of videos man. I totally agree on creating momentum for difficult tasks by breaking them down into smaller, bite-size tasks - that way you won't get intimidated and just procrastinate. Wish you the best on your business, and keep the videos coming man. Cheers
Thanks for this comment! I just wanted to create something relatable and not over do it with crazy unrealistic productivity hacks!
Stumbled across one of your Instagram reels which lead to this video. Can’t tell you how grateful I am of your tips and advice Edward, thanks for sharing! My photography business and personal life has taken a toll and I feel like it boils down to staying more focused, organized and optimistic. I’ll be implementing these methods into my life. You got a fan / subscriber 💯
Yes!! Thanks for the genuine comment and support. I appreciate it!
I prayed, "God help me organize and focus" and went to youtube and your excellent video was found. It was relative to my mind being overwhelmed with task; the difficulty of fitting my abstract sense into templates, and most of "creating momentum." Now I will try it. So, thanks and God bless you for sharing to help folks like me with conquering tasks. Oh yeah, 👍 and I subscribed.
Love this! Going to definitely add some of these tips to my routine to be a little more focused.
Yes!! DM how it ends up going 🙌🏼
Note to self - "Create Momentum". Ot really resonated with me. I will work on it 👍🏻
Lets get it!
thanks for the motivation to try mind maps again. never quite got into it but i like that it's basically the opposite of notion which was too. much. lists. love how everything you do basically sets urself up for success. less friction, more momentum. great vids keep em coming!
Yesss. love that. Need that on a t-shirt - "Less friction more momentum" 😂
BRO, THANK U. the advice of the daily block schedule was mindblowing for me, it is really simple but I have had years of struggle with the hourly block schedule
Same here! Glad we could both find that helpful
Ed, how are your mind maps even aesthetically pleasing?! I love it!
Hahaha thanks Kiva!! Trying to more consistent at posting. It’s tough haha
What iPad app do you use to mind map?
Just subscribed! I appreciate the video. I’m going to have to try some of these tips because I have my days where my brain is in a fog.
This is one of the best productivity videos on RUclips. So well though out and produced.
Shoot, thanks so much for the kind words man!
Loved the tip about creating momentum when tackling overwhelming tasks. I am always procrastinating because of overwhelm. So the momentum tip is gold😍👌👌
Yess! Love that tip too and it really helped me
Thank you - this was really helpful. I'm so guilty of starting the day off with wanting to "multi-task" by having a video play in the background while I get ready, but then I get caught up and either get ready slower or wander into the rabbit hole of watching another video
I've created a couple focus settings and will see how this works out for me.
I can relate to this. It's all about getting dialed into that one major task first and then trying to ease off the gas throughout the day
Subscriber here. It’s our way of saying thanks for your wisdom. Honestly, you are definitely a creative genius. Honestly, great work and absolutely love your cinematography. Feels like a great motivational and mentorship channel. I appreciate productivity and essential quality of life hacks. There is always space in my time for people that invest in making the world a better place. Probably rambling on far too long. But needed this video. Thanks a ton. Keep doing what your doing. Your time and work here is so valuable and unprecedented in its universal appeal.
Wow this comment was really encouraging to read. Thank you a ton for taking the time to write it out. Made my day!
thanks Edward. I'm implementing dividing my weeks/months into specific priority oriented tasks. blessings! 🙏🏾
Sounds good!! Let me know how it ends up going for you
finally after a month, i've been waiting for ur videos!!
these help so much man i had no idea i needed this 🙏💯
So glad to hear that. Thanks for the feedback!
Love this man! Been looking for a video like this for awhile! Keep it up!
Thanks for watching! Glad I could help!
Great video. All things Ive been thinking about myself lately honestly. the momentum part is so underrated.
Completely agree with you. Thanks man
This is really good, i just found focus modes on my phone and thought it was interesting but hadn't figured out how I would use it
this sorts that out!!!
Yes! Absolute game changer!
Nice to see you back here again! Great video! I started recently with a power hour. When I start working, I use the first hour (sometimes two - depends) on the tasks, that I really don't like. Can't say something about results just yet, but maybe somebody else can.
I love that idea of the power hour to kickstart some momentum
great tips. I really like the momentum tips.. maybe i can put it in my morning habit..
I do the same thing with blocking my days not my hours/minutes. Made a huge difference in terms of being easier on myself and not freaking out when things don’t get done. Oddly, it made me more productive.
Same here. Literally the exact thing that happened to me. Whenever I couldn’t follow my hour block schedule I’d feel bad but I was just putting unnecessary stress of myself
I will looking into the focus mode setup. Really need it. Thanks for sharing you day planning.
Definitely! Thanks for the comment
I'm going to try mind mapping because a blank page does tend to overwhelm me at times 🙂"Create momentum" is going to be my new motto. Thank you so much for this useful and practical video, Edward! New subbie 🙂
Create that momentum! Yes!
These types of videos are really helpful. Thank you!
Really loved this video! Definitely got some good tips and how you presented the video was just so easy to understand, thanks!
Thanks so much for watching!
Ed, I just came across your video, really helpful. You’re right momentum is the key to begin with, paralysis is probably more of a barrier than getting something right or wrong. Any way, loved the video, & have subbed to follow your journey. Would love to connect a bit more in the future.
Thanks for the comment. I definitely deal with alot of brain fog sometimes and this has helped a ton
the mind map was awesome thanks for sharing that!
your organization and clarity is inspiring! KEEP ON. (& thanks!)
Thanks Blake!
These tips were very helpful. Thanks man! Keep creating more. Love your work!!!
Thanks a bunch! Trying to post more!
i've been struggling with micro time blocking, cuz there are a lot of important and hard task to finish. Once i know i need to get those things done in exact time, i ended up procastinate. Thankfully, now i know i'm not the only one doing that thing, maybe i can try timeblock by day like you did. So, thank you Edward Lee, +1 subscribe! can't wait to see your next content
Yes! I can totally relate to you. This method helped me and hope it can help you too!
Love the video Edward! Subscribed ✔️
Subscribed! Going to try mind mapping. I really think that it's going to help with how my brain thinks! Cheers Edward ☕️

I think you might have just saved me from this downhill trend ive been going on. Lately ive been scheduling my days like you said at 4:10 about the hourly schedule and id always get mad at myself when i didnt finish an assignment in that certain time. Now I'm going to divide up my schedule the way you explained at 4:52. Thanks again
Sick!! Sometimes it's just that slight perspective shift that can really help
