~Inspired~ This comes at a the right time for me. I've been contemplating whether or not I should pursue a passion in fear that I won't make anything of it or be able to make a living off of it but this line, "But if you never did it then you would never know" shook me.
I discovered the home studio setup video, which I loved for how you guys worked around the space limitations to make it so functional and creative, and then jumped onto this one. I'm not creative but I also want to work for myself. "... being ready to fail as long as I saw it through..." really struck a chord. Thank you for an inspiring short film and Ant Kai for sharing his experience and motivation.
What an amazing film. And combining it with a sponsored video? Genius. Usually I see films that are too focused on the sponsor, but you tied in Grovemade's products perfectly with @ant.kai's story. Wanted to highlight a few places where I totally geeked out lol: 0:16-0:20 - That quick burst of visuals with the sounds were so well paced. I can just imagine all the various effects in the timeline you used for just this short segment haha. Shows your attention to detail (AND your ability to not overuse it) 0:39 - Such an amazing and unique way to capture the interview. I've been bored out of my mind with talking heads or generic interview shots, and I love the thought behind this. 0:48-0:58 - Being able to tell a story/scene with just visuals is something I'm still learning, but you did this so well. 1:30-1:50 - Again, how you tied in Grovemade's products with the story was just crafted so well. 4:04 - Also, I don't know why this stuck out to me but I know I would never have gotten this shot.
Thanks for the awesome content. Have you ever thought of doing a video on a McMansion “study” room home office? I’m having trouble on how to actually make the room aesthetically pleasing and functional.
This is so clean! Do you ever use plug ins like dehancer? Im trying to see if it's worth the money, or do you just grade straight out of davinci. Thanks man!
Who said you can randomly just make these amazing short films outta nowhere! This was insane brother, remember what we discussed, this blows the water out of the park, you never need to compare yourself making amazing content like this, like even me now I’m comparing my art to this, but it isn’t bad, it’s more like I know I need to push myself harder to get to this level, you are so dope at what you do Ed, rooting for you and your greatness!
Well done, both of you. I hope to see more projects like this!
Thanks Matthew! Means a ton. Hope I can continue making more videos like this that fuel my creativity
