The one thing that most people don't understand is that a cluttered device often leads to a cluttered mind, too. In order to achieve focus and clarity, a clean and structured setup is crucial.
@@alxluthor Goodluck with that, Alexander! I know it can be daunting at first but I guarantee you that once you start cleaning things up, you'll feel much more motivated to keep going. Once you're finished, you'll have a clearer mind as well as a clear work space! :)

Hi Edward, I liked the way you organize your desktop folders. WORKING, BUSINESS, PERSONAL. Great idea! And your other tips are amazing. I am on a decluttering journey, and my office is a large part of it.
I would honestly love it if you did a more in-depth Notion tour. I love Notion, but I am still learning to use it. I like how your Notion setup looks, and I would love it if I can get some tips from you that talks more about it.
You've probably studied 5S but as a warehouse lead I have to study Toyota's 5S system which is basically a more expanded version of this mindset I am happy to see people practicing this stuff
Thanks brother this was really helpful for me; I tend to get anxious when I'm not organized or have so much to do; and also thanks for the mindset tip.
Thank you for this video. I am very organized but… I recently realized I have too many storage locations. I have files in: Drop box, 3 Google drives, iCloud and of course my hard drive. Also I just started using GoodNotes and notion. And don’t forget the iPhone notes app. Oh my, I need help.
I really have a shit ton of things on the desktop. It's just my working folder, because it's easy to drag things to. If I was concerned about it being distracting, you can just hide them and unhide them whenever you need them back. Also, on macOS there's the stacks feature.
2:35 I would also add a VAULT folder for encrypted documents such as passports, IDs, Certificates etc, and a QUICK-ACCESS folder for a shortcut into any current files.
Yeah the drives can get pretty costly. I usually account for it into my yearly expenses and make sure I dont feel too bad when I have to spend the money on a new drive
Thanks for your great work, we can feel passion through the quality of your video. I will give a try with Idenati & Note, and all your precious advices !
Even I have kid already, digital minimalism is number 1 when it comes to my work! Everything messy on my screen, I feel like I just wanna burn my computer and phone!!!! Almost got an heart attack !!! I can not stand next to my husband when he’s doing his work!!! That multitabs, and messy desktop on his computer makes me wanna kick his computer. I am that crazy 🥲🥲🥲🥲
@@edwardleefilms thanx for reply! I guess both? But totally up to you ^_^ Like do you have a routine of cleaning/archiving/backing up the photos? Would be interesting to know your ideas!
Personally I don't have anything on my desktop. I use Rainmeter skins and only a clock and some task widgets to do not forgot anything. Thanks for the video :)
1:01 bro, i feel personally attacked... LOL but really, I appreciate you making this video and sharing your process on staying organized digitally. I also really appreciate how much thought you put into making this video really concise with little bits of humor. you're definitely one of my favorite RUclipsrs that I've discovered this past year!
Love the way you organize your files on your computer. Wondering if you also use cloud storage like Google Drive and how you integrate this into your digital organization system. I have files in my computer, hard drive, and Google Drive which makes organization a bit more tricky (and time-consuming!). 😵💫
I usually store files on a physical external hard drive and then any important docs (in case of fire) will be on Google drive / Dropbox! I usually use G-Drive for docs and then Dropbox for photo/video assets
Really helpful video! Structure is key for me. I don’t understand how people can live with a desktop full of unorganized files, that completely stresses me out lol.
What kind of routines do you have though to KEEP it clean? I think most get the logic of having a structured hierarchy helps. I take tons of screenshots that piles up in the screenshot folder, and downloads + desktop. I've tried a digital Mise En Place 10 min at the end of the day to put files where they belong but if you slack just a week it's chaos again. There are also tools like Hazel where you can set up rules for folders so it can move files for you and keep it tidy.
These are really good points! I think for me, I upkeep my photos and digital files (like notes app) at least once a month. I will block out about an hour or two one day out of the month to make sure I dont hoard a bunch of useless or non-essential files
Hey would you mind sharing your posters you have on that gray wall? Your room has been my inspiration for mine since i'm redesigning it and i would love something similar to yours for my wall. Thanks!
This is a good point haha. I don't think I explained that portion properly in terms of what I was trying to say! I mainly mean that it's not safe meaning anyone who opens your computer can just click onto the safari tab and access all the tabs. Also with auto login on keychain, its convenient for us but not if we have to let someone else use our computer. I like how Idenati provides an extra wall to access all your important websites.
Super quality and knowledgeable! I would love to see your stats on keeping the viewer's attention though. It seems to me that the film from the middle begins to be too monotonous could use some kick to stimulate. :P

@Edward thank you for this, would you mind templating the dashboard at 10:39 and sharing? For the life of me I am not able to create one like the one you have
Notion is ironically making my life hell, the amount of choice you get can get overwhelming and it lacks really simple features that it would make it so much better: repeating tasks, less cluttered ui, phone app is slow, and so on.. I tried and tried but I'm moving on to something else.
If you see the calendar frames you'll read things like "6 min talk main hall" or "CO visit" from tuesday to sunday. hehe Nice to meet you bro! subscribed
i would disagree with one of your comments regarding being screwed if one of the drives fails in the raid setup ( granted it has to be correct raid setup ) but i like how you have one drive setup per year
Right now my computer is kind of messy, but once I get my new camera, new iPad, and new phone, im going to reset all my devices and install the apps that I need and that's it.
The one thing that most people don't understand is that a cluttered device often leads to a cluttered mind, too. In order to achieve focus and clarity, a clean and structured setup is crucial.
