I'm from Side. I just wanted to say that the restaurants near the marina aren't only for tourists. Locals also do eat there sometimes. Prices aren't cheap, that's for sure. But it's not much cheaper in local restaurants in the city center either unfortunately. Locals don't usually buy stuff from the shops in the old town though.
Hi! Maybe you can recommend us which restaurants near marina are good? Quite often restaurants near tourists hotspots everywhere in the world don't care so much about quality of food. There will always be a new tourist tomorrow 😅
@@OlgaProGoingPlaces Azumare Lounge’s one of my favorites in the old town. There’re also some new restaurants apparently, I might try couple of them when I’m back in Side. I study and work in Istanbul rn. In the center you can try Kibrit or Cihan Pide for a more local taste.

If you spend your entire trip thinking only about the costs, the only thing you will remember from your trip will be money. Don't miss out on the beauties by thinking too much about money.
Visit Greece and if you can Creta and try to rent a house in a village, you ll save a lot of money and the only you ll need is a car to rent..also eat to villages that the food is cheaper and the ppl welcome you and also they respect you and if you ve children they can play with the other children and dont affraid something bas happens to them..also if you go for swimming dont swim to spots that are deeper from you because Crete beaches ve strong winds and it dosent matter how good swimmer you are..
Sounds like a dream life for a family that would want a country side life. We visited Chania in Crete some time ago, it's a cute town. I personally wouldn't choose it for long-term as I prefer bigger cities with better infrastructure and that stay busy all year around. But it was a lovely place for a holiday.
@@OlgaProGoingPlaces Herakleion is bigger town from Chania and has about 300.000 population and its close to Hersonissos with nice beaches..Crete is a big island and you can combination mountain and beaches..

Hi, im from the UK....is it cheaper for us to buy everything with TL, or euros...??? We normally just buy everything with euros, but not sure if we are doing the right thing ...Thanks
Just got back from Istanbul and thank you for sharing about the menu! I noticed that, Turkey is a very nice country and we will be back, just take your time and be cautious about scams, I always use Lira it’s better to withdraw from a safe area or atm. I want to explore more in Turkiye it’s worth it to visit.
Hello, I am a Turk and I live in Turkey. If you are coming to Turkey, use Turkish lira. Unfortunately, the economy has been very corrupt and unstable lately, and the number of these fraudsters has increased. It is possible that people who see you as a tourist will try to defraud you. But with the recent news, public pressure has been created within the country, as the fraud of tourists has further damaged the country's economy, and the public reacts greatly to such events. If you experience such a situation, go to the police immediately. The police will help you with everything. If you need help, know that society loves to help, there are people who can help you with anything. You can see people who speak English in tourist areas. they will help you too. Have fun in advance.
