Vietnam is a pretty country, the people are very nice and they are a very family orientated which sadly the West has lost. Your video is a great summary, thanks.

Constantly moving from place to place can be exhausting and may affect your health negatively. This is what happened to my husband and I. We have been traveling for 2.5 years now, but decided to do slow travel and stay at least 6 months in each destination.

Thanks for the deep dive! I'm moving to Da Nang in January. I have a lot of friends there, mostly teachers. Here's a tip about traveling from the airport to Hoi An: During peak tourist seasons, pre-booking transportation is recommended, but sharing rides can still be an option if you find other travelers. Da Nang airport can get quite busy, so using official taxi services or Grab is safest. While some taxi drivers will offer to share their WhatsApp or Zalo for return trips, it's better to use official booking channels or your hotel's transfer service for reliability and safety. If you plan to stay long-term, a trusted grab driver can be arranged through reputable companies, though expect to pay $100-300 monthly for regular service depending on your needs. Don't try to drive your own motorbike though - I've seen too many accidents. People aren't used to this kind of traffic. If you're not an experienced motorbike driver, stick to Grab.
I just discovered your channel and this video. I was going to buy the guide, but since I missed out on the sale, I suppose I'll just wait and buy it if I have a trip booked. I certainly appreciate how through you are with explaining the fine points and wish you all the best in your adventures. Thanks for the videos.
Thank you! In the guide I also share information that will be valuable before booking - visa, best time to come, neighborhoods and hotels, and in the chat you can ask me any question about Vietnam.
Yes, Vietnam is surely cheaper, but like you both hinted early in your video, Malaysia is nice. Very nice. English widely spoken. Infrastructure better. Medical care quite good. No guns. Excellent mix of foods. Wonderful friendly people too. I agree, KL is a bit much of an urban jungle so I am heading to Penang for retirement. The overall vibe there is just perfect for me.
We've heard good things about Penang, but haven't visited unfortunately. For us Da Nang was almost perfect, price/quality there is just unbeatable in SE Asia.
Thanks for the video. Loved it I'm from Southern California., I was in danang in July/ August. It was extremely hot.... Planning on returning back during cooler weather
Prices are very affordable if you compare to US/Western Europe. Most of the time I was covered by travel insurance. But for example, for a specialist doctor visit + 2 different scans and a blood test + a follow up doctor consult it was around USD200 at a relatively expensive hospital, all done on the same day. A tooth filling is around USD15

There are 33 major cities with over 200,000 residents and 60% or more people speak some English. It's hard to imagine that you could not find an area in the 11 "major" islands and various regions that you don't like. To each their own I guess.
In Da Nang we liked the climate and the air is pretty clean. However, a city like Hanoi is a different story. I know some people who relocated from Hanoi to Da Nang and ave very happy they did.

Love yous presentation skills and thank you for the very good info. (Fly to anywhere from Vietnam. Brilliant. Case by Case. Love it!). Some tips: Humdity is not measured in degrees. 'It gets really hot' is not really a good indicator. (I grew up in Singapore. I love 32 and higher). Maybe good idea to mention why someone would pay for your guide? FB is free. Driving licence not valid? (I am Dutch / Spanish and can drive in Vietnam). 'If you're older'? Uuuum. I'm 67 and have more energy and fun than most 'kids'. You are from another country, the locals are not or maybe, I misunderstood. "Lots of coffee shops". Now, I understand why there are so many Dutch there. 😂
Thanks! Here you can check out monthly averages (temperature) in Da Nang month by month olgapronkina.com/travel/da-nang-vietnam-weather-by-month/ You can drive in Vietnam with a Dutch license, but if you are stopped by police, they most likely will ask for a Vietnamese license. Great to hear that you have a lot of energy at 67. Me at 38 feel like I definitely have less than in my 20's. More responsibilities and health concerns that take that extra energy. For sure if you have the time you can find most of the information on Da Nang for free and ask people on Facebook. Although you never know who will reply and whether their lifestyle and opinions are similar to yours. My guide is for people who share the same (or similar) lifestyle, trust my advice and want to have support via the chat.
Love the fact you say you can survive on such low income I'm heading out in Feb and I'm trying to do it on a budget 1000 €$ sounds preety interesting £ gets more to the dollar both euro so 1000 English sounds like you can have a nice life
Thanks for this video! I will be checking out HuaHin and DaNang as a place to live 3 months out of year. Looking for more of a nice quiet+low key city & not much of a party town. P.S. Nice B-roll editing in your video.
You are welcome! Have a great trip to Da Nang and Hua Hin. Yeah, b-roll for such a long video took quite some time and going through about a 1000 videos. Happy it was useful.
I watched your living in Turkey video, it was very helpful, If you have chance to live in Malaysia and UAE which one will you choose? I am not considering Turkey because of high Taxes on international earnings.
Hi, we have never been in UAE, so can't compare unfortunately. Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) had a lot of similarities with Thailand (Bangkok) - overall lifestyle, costs of living, expat community. We ourselves were looking for expat-friendly and tax-friendly option in Europe. Will share more of what we found in the future videos.
Congrats on getting the visa and have a good time in Da Nang! Yeah, that’s basically our plan, a home base in EU and extended working holidays somewhere warm in the winter 😊 Let’s see how it works out.
That area is indeed very nice! We thought about trying to move there. But I talked to people who had the experience of living there, and they said that it can be quieter overall, but it feels more humid. The breeze and the ability to walk to the beach every day kept us from relocating across the river. Although we did live in a more local neighborhoods too.
Younger people will prefer Danang but older people may prefer Nha Trang I would spend a month or two in each place. The rest of the time in other countries.
Olga how do you find those meetups? . I live in HCMC, VN and here it's hard to extract 1 word from a lady's mouth. Crazy shy and introvert with 0 social skills. I'm looking for a way out of HCMC, and Vietnam altogether. Can you pls share your best suggestion for a SE Asia city to live within 1000-1500 budget range? Thanks
For younger women that don’t speak good English yet I’d say it’s understandable they are shy :) My experience in Da Nang, Vietnamese men and women with better English are quite talkative and fun to have a conversation with. I’d suggest going for a digital nomad/language exchange meetup. I found them on Facebook. For us Da Nang was the best place price/quality of living.
Siem Reap, Cambodia. Easy on that budget, plenty of foreigners and groups to socialise with. Easy to get long-term visas and work permits if you wish. Friendly locals, English widely spoken.
What I know from others I shared in the video, but we didn't do any more research as we didn't plan to go for a teaching job ourselves. If you search online/on Facebook there should be more information.
Hi guys. I'm planning to go to Da Nang in December. How is organic fruit and vegetables there, like is it easy to find? I see in your videos that they have lots of local farmer markets. I'm guessing that they don't have too much certified organic, maybe in some shopping malls. Very informative video, thanks.

HI! We said it wasn’t so nice for us, unfortunately. The channel didn’t grow much during our visit, we tried to be truthful about our experiences ruclips.net/p/PLbukJP9uQAFLlpznRzPRj4QO-CY4V7ZbZ
There are 33 major cities with over 200,000 residents and 60% or more people speak some English. It's hard to imagine that you could not find an area in the 11 "major" islands and various regions that you don't like. To each their own I guess.
I am not surprised, I am Vietnamese speak fluent the language, but could not cope with Vietnamese climate, dirty, pollution, and many others.
In Da Nang we liked the climate and the air is pretty clean. However, a city like Hanoi is a different story. I know some people who relocated from Hanoi to Da Nang and ave very happy they did.
You lived in Hanoi and Saigon I’m guessing

All the best for your next chapter and I for some reason believe you will be back to Da Nang for visit in the future.
Traveling has the good, bad and ugly, embrace it.
Wow, thats a really informative vidoe - thanks for doing it. Btw what microphones were you using?
Thank you! I have boya mics, but don’t think they are that good anymore. I’m looking to upgrade myself
Love yous presentation skills and thank you for the very good info. (Fly to anywhere from Vietnam. Brilliant. Case by Case. Love it!).
Some tips:
Humdity is not measured in degrees.
Thanks!
Here you can check out monthly averages (temperature) in Da Nang month by month olgapronkina.com/travel/da-nang-vietnam-weather-by-month/
You can drive in Vietnam with a Dutch license, but if you are stopped by police, they most likely will ask for a Vietnamese license.
My guide is for people who share the same (or similar) lifestyle, trust my advice and want to have support via the chat.
so where we are going now??
we'll share in the next videos!
Try Vung tàu much cheaper and better.
I am from USA and research to see which city’s is working for us to retire in VN and Vung Tau is the best.
Most can only get a 60 day visa. Unless married or working. Some ed visas.
Very helpful suggestions!
Glad it was helpful!
ooh you've lived in Vietnam for 1 year, you understand almost everything about the culture, people, and historical sites in Da Nang
I watched your living in Turkey video, it was very helpful,
If you have chance to live in Malaysia and UAE which one will you choose?
I am not considering Turkey because of high Taxes on international earnings.
Hi, we have never been in UAE, so can't compare unfortunately. Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) had a lot of similarities with Thailand (Bangkok) - overall lifestyle, costs of living, expat community.
We ourselves were looking for expat-friendly and tax-friendly option in Europe. Will share more of what we found in the future videos.
@@OlgaProGoingPlaces thanks a lot for replying, so far what's your favorite place to live?
@@OlgaProGoingPlaces I heard, Montenegro, Cyprus, Teneriffa are good options to go as expats or retire
@@OlgaProGoingPlacesyes, please share with us what you found. Personally I found Romania/Moldova to be the hidden gem of Europe!
@@ashvojHave you been to Romania or Moldova?
YOu should have a "basically" counter hahaha, lots of basically! Great video guys! I got my 3 months visa, will stay in Da nang most of the time
Congrats on getting the visa and have a good time in Da Nang!
Yeah, that’s basically our plan, a home base in EU and extended working holidays somewhere warm in the winter 😊 Let’s see how it works out.
The Han river is actually the nicest place of Da Nang. It feels to me you only lived in the tourists area.
The rest of the time in other countries.
the people in DaNang are much nicer and the vendor don't have the haggle price compare to the other cities
Are you moving to my hometown cologne?
We visited Cologne for a day, liked it a lot! But we decided to move to another country in Europe, will share more soon.
Grate video.. if you wanted to teach English who and where would you go to or contact..what qualifications do you need to teach English
What I know from others I shared in the video, but we didn't do any more research as we didn't plan to go for a teaching job ourselves. If you search online/on Facebook there should be more information.
I am from Seychelles I can live there
Chúc bạn vui vẻ
Except for the growing out-of-control too-loud open-air drunken karaoke craze, Da Nang is probably the best East-Asian city.
How come your guy didn’t visit Cambodia 😊😊😊😮?
Vietnam government is happy with limited tourism...the last thing they want is to turn the place into Thailland or Bali....thank heaven.
Hi guys. I'm planning to go to Da Nang in December. How is organic fruit and vegetables there, like is it easy to find? I see in your videos that they have lots of local farmer markets. I'm guessing that they don't have too much certified organic, maybe in some shopping malls. Very informative video, thanks.
@@MrBojo-jv4qq you can check out Vita Market and An Phu Farm. They have organic veggies and fruits. You may find some others but I don't remember.
Sorry to hear u lost phone... but not just vn. U could get rob any where... People got rob in EU lost 5 passports, cash, tickets ,all papers that could identify themselves.... this ruin their trip.....
You don't mention where your going
we'll share in the next videos!
Don't. Don't EVER trust anyone with your business and money in Vietnam.
👍🙂👏🙋
