Its been a long time since I watched a TCS video and this as great. I am a keen Panasonic user and I really like this model. I am still very happy with my ancient G5 and slightly newer GX8. They are very decent cameras for work and pleasure and the menu system and lens choice are second to none.
Thanks for watching. Glad to hear your Panasonic camera is working well for you. We love our GH5, and can see that the G95 will be a great option for the line. It's nothing groundbreaking. But, the G95 has a great combination of their existing technology.
Thank you for posting. Very informative video. Sounds like a great camera. In regards to fishing, I hear your pain. I am lucky if I catch a cold. Gave up on fishing a looooong time ago.
Excellent review, very clear and very nice location. I am a beginner and I am between the G95 and the Sony A6600. The use will be for family photo, travel, and sports. What do you recomend me? Thank you very much! Greetings!!
I wish it had more G9 packed in. Having the G85 myself, I would certainly move up to a G9, but this one isn’t too inspiring over the G85. The headphone jack is nice.
Agreed. It would have been nice to have 6K photo mode. But, I think they did a good job combining a bunch of desirable features into a more affordable body. A headphone jack is really key for any video camera. Audio is *almost* more important than the overall video quality.
Daniel Dougan that’s true. But it looks like there are some limitations in the 120. A used a6300 might be a better option if those are someone’s main interests.
I wish the G9 had been made with the G95's body to begin with - it's a very nice and comfy camera, but just a tad too large and heavy to use as a daily driver. The G85 felt way more 'packable' and ready to go.
I dont know if I have a faulty unit because I just bough this camera and the oled display is really nice. BUT! When I focus in live view on the screen the picture looks absolutely gorgeous but when I actually take the shot the final result is nothing like it looked on the screen right before I took the picture. In Live view it looks sharp and when I take the picture, its soft and looks almost out of focus….I dont get it, my phone takes sharper photos. And yes, this happens even if I use high SS. Very dissapointed. Good review video though!
Can I trade off my Older Nikon Gear and switch over to a Panasonic Camera System; is there a major difference between the G9 & G95? Thank You for your Rundown!
Which focus settings did you use for video vlogging? I saw some other RUclips videos of the G95 where the video was back focusing during video vlogging instead of focusing on the vloggers face.
Hi, thanks for watching. That was a while back so I don't recall exactly the settings although typically we try several ways and settings to get the best results. We got good results during our time reviewing it and don't recall any issues with back focusing. Thanks
My concern with all these modern cameras is the battery power, or lack of there of. Why rechargable battery?.Wouldn't it be more convenient to use either AA batteries or CR123 batteries, not risking no battery power at critical moments. Some locations around the world, there may be no access to electrical power, making it impossible to recharge your camera.
You mentioned "Heavy crop factor in 4K" are you talking about about the 2x micro four thirds crop or does it actually have even more crop in 4k like the g85 had?
It is weather sealed to the same level as the G85 which was great. The OLED LVF (Live View Finder) is 2360K-dot resolution in approx. 1.48x / 0.74x (35mm camera equivalent) magnification capability.
Just need to know 1. how to just turn it on and shoot in auto mode? 2. How do I shoot a PANO picture? How do I look at what I just took a picture of? TY in advance
Hi Edward. The on/off is a small switch labelled on the top right hand side of the camera. To shoot in full auto mode you need to switch the main control on the top dial to the "AI" mode. To shoot Pano's you need to rotate the same dial to "SCN" mode then select through the menu the 25th option then follow the instructions. Use a tripod to get best results. Playback button is on the back of the camera just above and to the left of the rear control dial. Thanks for watching.
What would you guys personally pick between the G95 and the X-T30? Recording limits and lack of flip screen are not big factors to me, but the IBIS in the G95 is giving me pause.
@@fennowalta2940 I'd be using hybrid. The AF on the X-T30 is way better from what I have seen, I don't like the jittery DFD CDAF in the Panasonic. I think I'll wait for fonal release of both but for now the X-T30 is holding high position.
Hi, On strictly battery you can expect 90min of video. Keep in mind you can charger and power the camera through USB. With regards to night photography it is good however full frame still has the advantage at higher ISO's. How this helps. Thanks
Yes they did. It has Auto ISO with exposure compensation in Manual Movie mode. But, it's very sensitive so it can jump around a bit. That being said, we were using early firmware so that could improve when they put final firmware in it.
The quality is the same as the G85, which compares very favorably to the E-M1 Mark II. Plus, this has 120 fps whereas the E-M1 II only goes up to 60 fps. Even a midrange camera from Panasonic stomps all over any camera from Olympus when it comes to video...speaking from firsthand experience.
Sorry, if you would choose me one thing what camera will you choose for me? (a6400 vs g95) , I use the camera for color grading, shooting vlog, mv I’m from thailand (answer me please)
It really depends on what you are shooting. If you are doing run-and-gun video, you might appreciate the IBIS and form factor of the G95. Plus the battery grip will allow you to hot-swap batteries. The X-T30 is a very solid video camera. But, I'd say that it has more limitations than the G95.
Heads up, as it wasn't mentioned in the (otherwise great) video: unlike the G85, this camera is splash and dust proof. Not fully weather sealed like the G9, but not "naked" like the G85, either.
Only things that bum me out about it after tons of research are: - Price tag is crazy at 1200 USD - STILL EXTRA CROP ON 4K 30 (compared to 1080p) still don't know how much, the G85 had an extra 20% crop in 4k - no 4k 60 - I can actually live with that - Slow mo is set at 120 fps and not 180 fps, it's without auto focus and no audio. - nobody knows yet of they have added auto ISO in manual movie mode (this was missing on the G85) will update when I will know if it's there. - Can't see a body only price tag which is much needed for all of us upgrading from the G85 abd already own the 12-60
- It has a larger crop factor 1.26x (vs. 1.11x on the G85) Because the cameras use a different sensor, the speed of reading the data has changed and therefore the crop had to change too. - It has Auto ISO with exposure compensation in Manual Movie mode. But, it's very sensitive so it can jump around a bit. - They are just selling it in a kit in Canada at time of release.
everybody is into videography, and I cant cant find people into photography . what's up with that? I'm happy that you love yourselves but some people are into photography. I just cant find anyone. it seems everyone one is more interested in how they look on video and no one is telling how the camera works in wildlife or outdoor photos .
For photos, it looks annoying. But, the hit rate is insanely good. If you are stopped down in video the hunting is less noticeable while you are shooting. But, if you shoot wide open, it can be a pain to work with. To be honest, we still shoot manual focus with our GH5 for video, or jump over to a single point if needed.
Nice camera Lumix G95, produces good colors and the location for testing the camera was stunning. Well done Evelyn and Dave and thanks to you guys

You've missed the biggest feature: the G95/91 offers Live Composite Recording, same feature Olympus offers since the E-M10.
