This worked perfectly, so I'm now able to record gameplay with minimum lag. Thank you very much :)

5 to 40 seems like an over-statement, but to me it lines up perfectly, OBS is a PC recourses DEVOURER.
@@Thatonesaddletank I know this is a bit late, but the reason for this is that you need a gpu, or if you have one it may be faulty
This may have been a year ago and still works but you DO NOT understand how much this tutorial helps me. Being a new content creator having these settings really helps capture the best gameplay/highest quality clips for my viewers. I can confirm that this method does work, you just earned a new sub!

Sorry, but bitrate has absolutely nothing to do with your wifi or internet speed - it's the rate at which you are sending information to the encoder... and it impacts cpu usage mostly, although with NVENC encoder it's quite minimal with anything bellow 100k
for 1440p 60k should be perfectly fine - it's better to aim higher than you need if you can handle the encoding while gaming, and then render for youtube at whatever bitrate you want

GUYS be sure to do what I think is not mentioned here, which is to ensure your recording format (found in output) is on mpv! Wanna know why? because if your file corrupts, like computer loses power or whatever, you will still have recording up to that point. Lost mine, was apparently using mp4 ... Changed to MPV. DO IT.

@@abinvarkey2331 yeah, and since it's a video on recording that part is extremely important. since it's for new users people will just assume what hes saying is correct and lead to a ton of confusion. i appreciate that hes trying to help people but this false info will only lead to more problems if you don't have a high end PC that can handle high bitrate recording. hopefully he will re-upload since it's only a few months old :)

When I play the game it is smooth but when I watch it back it lags, also instead of the nvidia card can you use the quick sync h.264

There was another tutorial suggesting to turn off preview and run in Admin, and those didn't work, but your solution worked.

Ik I am very late to this video but this video actually gave me clean gameplay but I jus wished I saw this vid early because when I used to record ALL the time, my gameplay was terrible. my obs keeps stuttering the videos when i have 60 fps and where you can see the video it is smooth but when i look at the video's file it is stuttery, Can anyone help?

It has been a year but I followed this and I get ABSOLUTLEY NO LAG anymore I lowballed my PC big time before using x264 when I have nvidia
even im year late its still good but there is one thing that if you have blurry text and stuff go to output -- Rescale Output --- then put it sharpened scales.

TYSM! The gameplay is normal now!! I do have question like u said I should change my recording base to the same resolution as my monitor (which is 4k) and I changed both the output resolution and base resolution to 4k, and after seeing the footedge it's definitly not 4k reslution I feel like it's only 720p, is there a way I can get higher quality?
Make the bitrate higher around 45000-60000

My download speed is 120mbps and upload is 10mbps. What bitrate should I use?
10 mbps , 10,000 bitrate, 20 mbps 20,000 bitrate. So on.. Now if you have 10 mbps you should do it around 7.5k since you cannot use it all, else you will make other devices or the pc itself load slow. For twitch the maximum bitrate for non-partner is 6,000.

I found that face cam quality is actually much better in max quality. I don't really understand why because the gameplay isn't much different.
Yea I agree the game quality doesn’t seem to change when you have the max quality option and if you can’t see the difference there is no point

What mic do you have and perhaps mic settings? Your mic quality is really good.
Hey, I have the marantz professional mic I got it from a music store funny enough lol and I also use a free software called voice meeter banana with my own custom settings for my mic to make it sound much cleaner and deeper you can look up a video on it on youtube it's free and works great for any mic.
Plus in my latest videos I also started using in obs mic settings to make it even better

i have a specific problem, while playing hogwarts legacy. Its the only game where i get laggy recordings on obs, i play the game perfectly fine over 45 fps at high. THEN why am i getting some heavy stutters and lag over specific areas like that intro scene where we get the warner bros intro. pls help
