Thanks for watching Randy. Yep I saw a video years ago where a guy attached a nail to the top inside, and shut it on a 6s lipo with several lipos around it. Smoke went everywhere, but no flames. They all cooked off. I've also seen many lipo bag videos of the bags burning up. It may be overkill for safety, but I like that in this case.
Trying to get caught up. Great video Adam. Anywhere that's "safe"🤣 works to keep planes. I also use fireproof lock boxes to store my lipo's. I even called Sentry to make sure they were fireproof from the inside out, instead of outside in. JWI will appreciate that plane. 2 gear umx Pitts is next. AirHammer out!!
Hey Hammer! Man thanks so much! Appreciate you watching. Yeah the safes are the way to go for lipos IMO. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the inverted landing attempts with that UMX Pitts!
Love that little cessna aerobat. Unfortunately the motor popped out of mine and damaged the cowl 😭 Pretty jealous of your hangar tho! You got some cool stuff! Ps if you go on Amazon asap someone listed some nos 1" aluminum spinners that was offered as an option for the aerobat. Last week there was 18 but as of a couple days ago there's only 4 left. I got 2 cuz inthink mine is put of balance. No matter what I did I couldn't get it to stop vibrating after 75% throttle. Hopefully the new spinner/prop adapter fixes it
Thanks Jake. It is a great lil plane. Hopefully the new spinner/prop fixes that vibration. I actually have one of those spinners, but the motor shaft is too big for the adapter part of it. I have an aftermarket motor.
Wow brother Jeff, that is such a nice gesture my friend. We have a weekend covered up with other stuff at this point. I'll try to plan sooner next year and get there. Same dates every year?
Hi Adam, thank you for the tour. Very impressive!!! I cant help laughing that your bathroom is part of your hangar. Also a shout out to Heidi for such great job with the video. May I get some info on your Fireproof boxes for the lipo? I need to get some. Thank you again for all you do.
Thanks very much for the kind words! Lol...the bathroom gets a laugh out of everyone. Link to the Lipo boxes I use: www.amazon.com/SENTRY-Minutes-Fireproof-Handbag-Included/dp/B01LYR3VK6/ref=sr_1_10?crid=3AB9V9MMB4OB1&keywords=sentry+fireproof+safes&qid=1687723259&sprefix=sentury+fireproof+safes%2Caps%2C98&sr=8-10 Worth noting - you can get these at Home Depo, Wal-Mart, etc. Just make sure you get the fireproof only...you do not want waterproof. The flames will be contained, but you want the gas/smoke to be able to escape so pressure doesn't build and cause an explosion.
Great vid! I’m just getting into the hobby and this info was invaluable. I aspire to be able to fly the way you do with that black/white Carbon Z one day.
My FMS Pitts is my favorite as well which is what drove me to purchase my Hangar 9 giant scale balsa gasser. I set my Pitts up the same as you did during your review of it, the same propeller and battery retainer like you recommended, however I added a 100 amp Avian esc and the motor from the FMS Beaver which is 550kv. I couldn’t recommend the motor upgrade more. Flight times are 7 minutes plus with mixed throttle but the power of the larger motor really wakes that plane up! You should try the upgrade and see what you think. Love the collection mine’s getting large too, I’m up to 15 planes now and am looking at new plane’s daily. I’m thinking of a gasser cub or a gasser super decathlon as a next investment. Have fun, I know I’m going to!
That's awesome Matt! I'm happy with the power on my Pitts, but I just like to fly scale acro, and I enjoy the challenge of managing energy. Happy flying man!
Hey Adam! I just stumbled across your video and wonder what happend to your plans to make a review of your Hangar9 Super Cub. She looks amazing and I would love to hear what you have to say about her! I am toying with the idea of buying one used and wonder how much of a hassle it it to get it moved about, in the car, assembled on the field etc. maybe you could talk a bit about that too. Keep up the great work! Cheers Toby
Hey man, we actually have a new series coming to the channel that will show off some of our older stuff. The Super Cub is on that list. It is a big plane for sure, and takes about 15 minutes to assemble at the field. Large planes are always more of a hassle to store, transport, and assemble/take down at the field. To me it's worth it, but they don't go as often as a result.
bit jealous of that lucky gallon corsair, i wanna get my hands on one but theyre out of stock. seems hobbyking only does one production run of each plane they release and once its gone its gone
Not sure the part number...they change from time to time. The only thing that is key is to make sure its the fire proof only. The smoke/pressure has to have a place to go. Don't get waterproof as those are sealed tight, and the pressure will make it let go. That's bad!
Thanks! The planes in the hangar are always changing! You want to make sure you get the fireproof, NOT the fireproof/waterproof. You want the pressure/smoke to have a way to escape so it doesn't explode. The key is to contain the flames, which it will do. Thanks man! Yeah, so now they...like everything else, have gone up in price. Lol. They have them at Wal Mart and Home Depot, but now they are around $35 to $40. Here is one on Amazon- www.amazon.com/SentrySafe-Resistant-Chest-Cubic-1210/dp/B008HZUI34/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=196XW6HC9MC5C&keywords=fire%2Bproof%2Block%2Bbox&qid=1689458169&sprefix=fire%2Bproof%2Block%2Bbox%2Caps%2C152&sr=8-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1
Hi Adam got another tip for you and who looks at messages fms pitts v2 to stop tray moving click tray in place heat large safety pin put through the both rails on left or right side then the tray will not move if got no balsa wood around.
Hey Lee. Thanks for sharing. I've seen that. I still prefer the balsa (or foam...whatever you have) on the hatch tongue. It's very easy to do, and it's the only mod that doesn't require you having to keep up with another piece. With our mod you just simply do what you already have to do...just put your hatch on.

Worth noting - you can get these at Home Depo, Wal-Mart, etc.
Thanks very much! Welcome to the hobby!
Your wife is amazing to let you turn the house into a hobby shop
Yeah man she's awesome...she even paints!
The bathroom! My wifenwpuld neeever hahahhaa. Great collection!
I hope you have another bathroom you can truly use.
Lol...yeah two downstairs.
bit jealous of that lucky gallon corsair, i wanna get my hands on one but theyre out of stock. seems hobbyking only does one production run of each plane they release and once its gone its gone
Great video !! Which Sentry fireproof safe do you use ?
Not sure the part number...they change from time to time. The only thing that is key is to make sure its the fire proof only. The smoke/pressure has to have a place to go. Don't get waterproof as those are sealed tight, and the pressure will make it let go. That's bad!
enjoyed your tour very much, can you tell more about your lipo cases , give links please
( I have build the gladiator to ) :-)
Thanks! The planes in the hangar are always changing!
You want to make sure you get the fireproof, NOT the fireproof/waterproof. You want the pressure/smoke to have a way to escape so it doesn't explode. The key is to contain the flames, which it will do.

Awesome hangar, where did you find your Sentry fire box and what model do you have for $20 dollars?
Thanks man! Yeah, so now they...like everything else, have gone up in price. Lol. They have them at Wal Mart and Home Depot, but now they are around $35 to $40.
Here is one on Amazon-

Model,how are you?~o utstanding masterpiece, take care~ =)
Thanks, you too!
With our mod you just simply do what you already have to do...just put your hatch on.
saw everything BUT miss Heidi!!! : (
Joel you're right...I'll get her in one!
@@ModelAV8RChannel NOICE : )
my fav plane from your collection is the hangar 9 super cub, so sad that by the time I get to know about its existence it it already discontinued
It's a beautiful plane! My favorite scale plane we own.
Good evening Adam,
Thanks again for responding. Unfortunately when I go to the place you mentioned it only has information about your channel and how long you’ve had it. I am a “biplanedriver” and have a Gmail
The bathroom! My wifenwpuld neeever hahahhaa. Great collection!
LOL! Thankfully we don't need that one...
