I had a DLE 61 in mine and had a similar experience. I replaced it with a 12s 180KV /60cc equivalent motor from Motion RC and that woke it up substantially. It put the fun back into it for sure. Much more power than the 2 stroke and dead reliable summer and winter every time. 24x8 Falcon at 7400 RPM. Tons of power for sure.
@@NathanWaldock You wouldn't be sorry if you flew it and saw how it outperforms a gas motor......oh and no tuning and no deadsticks. 50 years ago I only flew glow because there weren't any gas motors yet and when gas came along, all I flew was gas .......until electric came along.
Very Nice Adam! Thanks so much for featuring this one, what a gorgeous model of the best fighter of WWI. I know you really like this genre of aircraft, I bet you were on Cloud 9 flying it!
A very nice display - in a little bit of a hazardous sky. ( I was glad one of those screaming mee mee's didn't go blasting through the middle of his Fokker. ) The scale flying you both pulled off was beautiful!
Gorgeous Plane. Your flight was Great !! Adam, I think of you as " Mr. Scale" excellent work! Your camera crew is The Best !! Oh.... nice "photo-bomb" by. " Jase The Ace"
What a great plane. I don't have a WWI plane, however I think I need one. Thats a bit on the big size... But, bigger flies better. She looked like an easy flyer and that power system appears perfect. Nice job flying in that swarm of other planes... Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Will. Yes sir, you do. WWI planes are a rare but interesting genre, and they will humble you in a hurry if you're not on that rudder. We'll talk. I can make some great suggestions.
Gorgeous and if you were nervous it hardly showed! I have a small one of these and its a lot of fun though its roll rate is awful. Great for stall turns and loops though. When landing (maybe because of its forward placed gear?), if I put it down just a LITTLE too fast and hard, it immediately and gently flies back into the air on a long hop before settling properly. A reminder that the hardest manoeuvre to be getting right every time is a perfect landing🙄😆
Man David. I had one NIB and sold it because I knew it would be a miracle if I could make room for it. I still have my H9 Sopwith Camel though, and that one can stay assembled and fit sideways in my truck.
I knew that you would like flying the Hangar 9 Fokker D.VII. They just seem to float through the air. Great video. I hated that I had to leave but I had an appointment. Jeff in LA USA
I really did Jeff...even in that crowded sky. Some of those other guys flying made me nervous though, lol. Steve is a great guy, we really enjoyed meeting him and talking with him. Heidi and I sure enjoyed getting to hang with you!
I have this beautiful plane in the box still. Will start the build soon. Looking to customize a bit. Any tips on how to maintain a tight ultracote covering after painting? I imagine a heat gun or iron is contraindicated on painted film? Open to suggestions, thanks and keep the vids coming
That’s orsum size. So strange to see an electric motor on a WW1 plane of that size , but I guess you can put a IC engine on that bad boy. Great Cap Adam 😊.
Kind of off topic, but I just got a tx16s radiomaster. Would this be a good Tx for e-flite planes, do you think it would work okay? I'm picking up the f4u, ec 1500, and razorback next week. I also have a dx8e. But I like the voice of the radio master
@@ModelAV8RChannel so after some research apparently it's a bad idea because the dsmx will read incorrect with the radio master causing critical RSSI. I'm just going to stick with spectrum
Adam, LOVE the content. Keep it coming, we appreciate all your hard work
Thank you so much! We enjoy making it for you folks!
Just love the old models Adam. Many thanks for showing this.🇦🇺🪃🦘
Thanks Noel! I love this genre too!
I was excited to see this video come out! Glad you enjoyed the flight and it was good seeing you! Thanks for the shoutout :)
Steve, it was great meeting you and flying with you man! Thanks for sharing your Fokker with us!
Just beautiful Adam! What a stunning plane!
It really is...and a big one!

Man that is a beautiful plane and the electric conversion was great to hear. Excellent quality video Heidi 👍🏻👍🏻
Many thanks!

Thanks Bro! Yep, it was a fun one to fly! The Raptor of its day...
My thoughts exactly !
Beautiful plane. Terrific filming. I was there watching it live. Glad to see it here again. Thanks for posting.
It is, thank you! That is great, we had a blast...hope you did as well! SEFF is a fun event.

Thanks man! Yep, I saw a speedster slice a 40% Extra in half one time. Not pretty.

Thanks! Yep, these WWI planes will humble the best of pilots landing. I've found a good three point is the way to go.
Shes a beauty, hard to beat a H9 bird. Had my Pitts out the other day. I've looked at this one several times, very nice!

Just totally fabulous! What a great model... and well flown under a good deal of pressure, Adam! I really enjoyed watching this 👍👍
Thanks Gina! I enjoyed flying it even though there was a lot of traffic. Great flyer. Steve was such a nice guy, great to meet him as well.
Outstanding!
Great model man. I see you with a Saito in one...

beautiful plane...great to get some 'stik' time on that one ! ....
It is, and it was. I want one now dangit! Lol.
Cool plane!
Perfect timing Adam I shall watch this over breakfast 👍
Hope you enjoyed it Cliff! Amazing huge airplane.
There At the end I thought "oh shit Adam is gonna hover this guy's biplane! "
It looked like you may have thought about it. Lol
Ha Ha, I don't think Steve has it powered for that, but you can for sure. If I had one...yeah, I'd have to do it once. Lol.
Adam, Steve Great looking plane and video nice flying guys, Adam I know you didn't bounce on that landing lol good job 😊😊😊👍👍👍
Thanks Frank...and yes, I totally boned that landing! Lol!
@@ModelAV8RChannel no yous did great its in one piece have a good weekend😀
Sweet plane , interesting Steve went E over gas
It is. He's done both. I think he prefers electric for the ease of it.

You can still use a heat gun, you just have to take your time. Lower heat and keep the tip moving.
Ah gotcha. Thank you! Absolutely love this channel. Keep up the great work you two!

It is brother! I knew you'd notice the hat...
One of these days I'm going to build mine with DLE55 and Autostart.
It will be a great plane when you get it built!

Honestly I don't know. I have no hands on experience with the Radiomasters.

I'm enjoying the Spektrum system. It is seamless and convenient. Lots of options.
Did you recover it, tail looks different? Thanks Darren
Not my plane, but I think it is stock.
I extended the white and added some new graphics. So technically it’s similar to stock but different :)
