Peas sound like a good idea to add to their diet as our fish more than likely eat more algae than you think out in the pond which helps with digestion, I have to get some more Northfin Veggie pellets as I ran out a few months ago, I think the kelp in it as the first ingredient is good for them, I'm also feeding a few times a week the fish fillets, they like them, I would say feed your fish like you did in this video for a few weeks to see if you notice any improvements, Thanks for the shoutout Chris!
That's great that everyone took to the peas and shrimp! Lots of protein and fiber. I'm a little surprised about the barbs liking it so much too. Definitely a success 🙂👍
@stubbsaquatics6080 I sent you a couple things on insta. I wonder if my congo tetras would like peas, they eat pretty much anything including the occasional aquarium plant 😂
Peas and shrimp, what a tasty combination. 🤣 I feed my koi as well as my bristlenose and spotted raphael catfish peas and cut up mussels and they all love it. A wonderful and healthy way to enhance their diet. No doubt your shubunkins and barbs will benefit from their new treats as well.
@stubbsaquatics6080 sounds good. Have you done a long-term review of the glowrium aquarium light yet? Mine have been doing great, and I did talk a few others into them now. One with an enginerding background who dismantles lights to verify build and component quality
@jeffkane4391 thanks that's awesome.. I love their lights .. they are working on a new aquarium light. I am hoping to test it prior to going on the market.
Wait till you see these Sarasa we got dude you’re not going to believe them……Jack’s finally on winter break after today so we’re going to try to make some update videos on the pond…..so many changes in the pond this last month….hope you have a fantastic weekend
The guy feeding the frozen peas is on to something. I feed peas a couple of times a week, if I remember. I use frozen shrimp and cut it in small chunks. I think my fish love shrimp day, they act like sharks.
Your beautiful fish certainly loved their new menu! I gave my minnows some peas a few weeks ago n they said they’d eat them if I took the skins off! They were true to their word! I wondered, as peas have a laxative effect, if it was sensible for me to serve them too frequently?! Of course my fish are minuscule compared to yours and I’m still feeling my way regarding feeding. I’m only used to aquatic invertebrates and they look after themselves, given all possible components of a balanced ecosystem. God bless you, Chris and have a peaceful Christmas 🙏✝️. ✌️🇷🇺☮️🇺🇦✌️.🙋♀️🤍🇮🇱✌️
Bless you Gaye All the best to you and yours over the season Thanks so much. I hope to feed them this combo once or twice a month but probably frozen stuff
I always blanched frozen peas and sqeezed inside of the pea out into a dish I never fed the skin of the pea. My Orandas and Ryukin loved it. Love your shubunkins! Oh ya I also would presoak pellets to hopefully avoid Swim bladder.
Mmmm🤤 you’re making me hungry for peas and shrimp… seriously though that is definitely an interesting thing to think about with the swim bladder. Ok I need to go eat something now thanks Chris 😂
What a dope, I am I text you during the watch but forget to comment Sorry bud Great video as usual I don’t think I’ve ever seen tinned shrimp in the uk but I’ll have a look mow
Great update Chris. They say "variety is the spice of life" so why not try it? Now you know they love it. They're all looking great. It was fun watching them enjoy a change in their diet. What is your plan for that? Once a week, or more frequently? Just curious. Thanks for a great look at the Shubunkins 🤗
Great point and yes I am. They will only be getting this once or twice a month just for gut health until they go back outside... The barbs will get it once a month
That really takes me back to the 90s when we made our own "shrimp mix". Peas, spinnach, shrimp, beaf heart and algaes. It was great for ciclids. More green for Malawi and less for discus. But I am not too sure about canned products. Around here it contains way too much salt. We always mixed fresh products and freezed it. Great vid as always.😀👍
I had a Black Moor floating upside down, so I fed it mushed peas. Had to put it in an empty margarine container and feed the pea with a pipette because it couldn't control its movements enough to get to the food. Fixed the fishy right up. I've feed greens to goldfish ever since.
Oddly satisfying to watch. I really really like those really long fin Shubunkins
Me too. Thanks pal

I think you are right. A good variety of food is best.
Great video buddy

Thanks John
Merry Christmas my friend
@stubbsaquatics6080 your welcome
I feed my pond Shubunkins peas couple times per month except for this time of year.
I plan on doing the same 1-2 times a month
That's great that everyone took to the peas and shrimp! Lots of protein and fiber. I'm a little surprised about the barbs liking it so much too. Definitely a success 🙂👍
I was very surprised to see the barbs go wild for them... I will feed them frozen 1-2 times a month
@stubbsaquatics6080 I sent you a couple things on insta. I wonder if my congo tetras would like peas, they eat pretty much anything including the occasional aquarium plant 😂
@TarasTankFriends they would love it
What a feast! nice to have a variety of food.
Always good to change things up
They look so beautiful Chris!
Thanks Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Great video 👍
Thanks for the kindness

I will be sure to add more frozen veggies to their diet.. Merry Christmas my friend
Peas for swim bladder issues definitely remember this.
Yes. Ok goldfish keepers swear by them
Looking good, Stubbs, keep us posted on the long-term progress thanks for sharing 😅
Thanks Jeff. Will probably give them all this mix 1-2 times a month but frozen peas... Just didn't have any on hand

Great video. Looks like an economical way to feed the little fellas. Keep them coming👍
Merry Christmas ⛄🎁🌲🎄⛄
Great tips. Thanks Chris. With the price of groceries- you can feed me peas and shrimp
Yum, I was thinking exactly the same! ✌️
Lol and you were going to get that for Christmas
MORE PEAS!!! 💪💪😃😃
Wait till you see these Sarasa we got dude you’re not going to believe them……Jack’s finally on winter break after today so we’re going to try to make some update videos on the pond…..so many changes in the pond this last month….hope you have a fantastic weekend
Really looking forward to seeing them
The guy feeding the frozen peas is on to something. I feed peas a couple of times a week, if I remember. I use frozen shrimp and cut it in small chunks. I think my fish love shrimp day, they act like sharks.
I will be feeding them frozen peas and shrimp 1-2 times a month. I wanted to use what I had at home at the time
Yep my Cichlids will eat the heck out of peas as well
They certainly did
I feed mine frozen peas. I microwave mine for 30 or 40 seconds & then cool & peal the shell off. Wasn’t sure about can peas due to the salt content.
You may find there’s no salt anymore in tinned peas, as in England. I had to peel mine and even squish them for my White Clouds! ✌️
I will be doing that next time my friend. Thanks for the tips
Merry Christmas ⛄🎁🎄
@@stubbsaquatics6080 Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 to you & your family!

Merry Christmas my friend :)

Ok I need to go eat something now thanks Chris 😂
LMAO.. I love jumbo shrimp... These things .. not so much
What a dope, I am I text you during the watch but forget to comment
Sorry bud
Great video as usual
I don’t think I’ve ever seen tinned shrimp in the uk but I’ll have a look mow
Lol. I do that all the time. Thanks pal. Merry Christmas to you and your family
They live it. You can feed brocoli, spinach, dandelion as well
Dandelion?! So, peas: laxative, dandelions: diuretic = well balanced fish! ✌️
I will have to try dandelion and broccoli 🥦. Thanks so much
listened on my way into work. I always learn something new from you Chris. I didn’t know there was a correlation
I think I will be giving them the peas 1-2 times a month

Thanks Chris. I think I will give them shrimp and frozen peas 1-2 times a month. That's the plan
I use to give the to my goldfish but I stop to much work cleaning the mess after few days 😅
Makes sense. I will be giving them this 1-2 times a month.. just to keep it down
Surprised about the peas!!
Great video ! 👍
Another great one, Stubbs! I like the concept of natural food however aren’t you concerned to overload the system with organic matter?
Great point and yes I am. They will only be getting this once or twice a month just for gut health until they go back outside... The barbs will get it once a month

I normally would give them frozen peas but ran out and had one can of peas.. so I will definitely keep the sodium down.
Fresh food is always the best

Smart thinking.. Doctor Gil is in... 🏨
Great video mate, great advice. Merry Christmas mate👍
Thanks Marcus
