Just pulled the trigger on this. I have been trying to wrap my head around how to make drum kits on the opsix, and your pack seems like the perfect place to start dissecting and trying to figure it out. I just love the ability to use sliders as levels for various pieces of the kit .So supremely satisfying, and it allows you to really get expressive live
@@OscillatorSink So far i spent 30 minutes on the first two patches, playing my microfreak alongside it. It's magical. I'm on Bonemarimba now, and it reminds me of the drums you might hear on a Tom Waits album. These are superb. I would love to see a video explanation as to how you went about programming the sequences to some of these! Of course, I don't feel entitled to such a video I just wanted to say the interest is there :) I enjoy all that you produce.
@@d3tuned378 Bonemarimba was literally named after that album where Waits famously had a marimba made out of bone... So I'm glad that someone picked up on that! Have fun exploring the other 26 patches and I do intend to do a video which summarises some of my favourite tricks I used in these patches.
Well, thanks for linking me here from the Juno vid. Picking up both of your packs just because you're really talented and its the least I can do. I wanted to applaud the fact that despite being multitimbrally limited to 2-4 sounds you've managed to make something genuinely usable. I generally think of a "full drum kit" requiring a minimum of six discrete voices, but with some of your drum kits here you seem to have been able to create enough sound variations within a single kit that I feel kinda silly about that arbitrary number "six." Some of these kits remind me of the LXR-002 which is another synth I got this year and haven't been able to fully digest yet.
Ha!! Bonemarimba...Clap Hands (or some other Waits) ;) Thanks for all the great tutorials, videos and sound packs...just got my Opsix and obviously you are on my tube all the time now :)
Such cool sounds. Thank you so much! I ended up buying the pack. Could you pleeease do a tutorial on how to build your own basic drum machine sounds. Thanks again.
Also trying to demystify how you were able to get some of this mad sounds. On "Digi Drums"? (... sorry, I think thats the name), you use (Not FM but,) Effects Mode, Sine wave - Short Delay ... (on a carrier). That OP is being modulated by a Sample and Hold - MS 20 Filter - OP? Thats as far as I could decipher it. It sounds very cold and robotic. I tried to emulate that set up the best I can, but can't even get any sound. Obviously this is a bit over my head. Please help me to unlock the code of the fm rhythm magic, if you have the time. Thank you again. Appreciate your knowledge.
I'd have to go back and look because it's been a long time since I worked on these patches but that sound like I was using s/h as a noise source which I was filtering to get (I assume) a snare sound. I'm guessing that the delay there was to create more of a clatter sound. As to why you're not getting any sound, all I can think of, assuming levels are set correctly, is that the cutoff of the filter op needs turning up? Actually, thinking about it, the delay is probably there to get that digital coldness if set very fast? As I say I'd have to go look at the patches - memory is failing me.
Fabulous work! A very varied and useful range of sounds. Isn't fm great for percussion/drums when done well? I particularly enjoyed the plaintive/ominous tuned percussion but the kits were inspired, too. The variations with the mod wheel, operators and gate length gave useful performance options and extended the patches. I don't have an op6, unfortunately, but will be paying attention to any soundpacks for other synths you produce. Your sounds were interesting and musical, which isn't a common combination.
That's very kind of you to say. I'm very proud of both packs, but this one was a real labour of love, so I'm especially glad that people are digging it.
It's delay and comb filtering together, being pushed and pulled about by a few different LFOs. That patch took some thought and experimentation to get right, but I'm happy with the outcome.
You deserve a metal for this. Awesome work. Waiting for opsix in the mail
Cheers! Enjoy your opsix!
Thanks for the demo. Helps get the most out of this library. Opsix is my fave synth.....
Korg needs to get you on board for preset development for their products. Best stuff i’ve heard out of an OpSix. 👌

This. I'm really interested in getting percussive sounds from this synth, and digesting these patches will be the perfect place to start.
Very cool! I look forward to using this as one of the drum voices for my Eurorack.
These are great! Congratulations on the release!
Cheers!
Thanks for the great videos on getting the most from opsix. These amazing sounds are icing on the cake (and a bargain).
Thank you, and I'm glad you like them!
Yes! Excellent sound design work 👌
Thank you!

This is so dope!!! Amazing work!
Thank you - your packs are too! I think all the sound designers on the packs that came out this week did fantastic work.

I'm glad someone else caught that reference!
The sounds are amazing
Thank you!
i hope korg gave you that as a gift man
OS is definitely a gift to Korg, and to us all.
Naw, you guyssss
cool sounds
Thank you!

A/ma/zing programming ❤
@@TemmeSikkema thank you!
i dont even have one thats amazing thank you.
It's a pretty flexible synth for something sold a an "FM synth", hey?
Would these work with Opsix Native? Awesome sounds!
Thank you, and yes!
Rad!
Cheers!
What is going on with the MYGLTXKIT patch? It sounds incredible. Is that delay? (I'm not an op6 owner)

@@OscillatorSink It is fantastic. .. I need an op6
You are making me think twice about my ordering a Volca Drum (long delayed)...lol.
Amazing...but i would never think about patching drums on my TX802 😀
You should - the pain will be worth it - FM drums are amazing! You may want to use an editor though!
@@OscillatorSink Indeed...editors are crucial for some FM tasks...
I take it these will work with the VST as well as the hardware?
Yup!
Because any synth can be a drum machine, right? ;-)
Daaaamn straight.
