I'm with you on wanting the desktop version, the cheap feeling keyboards (while being full size) with no AT are the reason why I've avoided buying both the Modwave and Opsix, even though I'd really like to have both (had the Wavestate for ages). If they never come, I guess I'll go with the plugins, but my dream would be to have a small 3-tier rack of WS, Modwave and Opsix all together on my small ambient desk, this would be such a powerful small setup. Nice video!

Thanks! Yeah absolutely agree. The plug-ins are actually really fun. I’ve been surprised how much I enjoy using the Opsix in that format.

yeah it's tough, as some synths i want as desktop (smallest space possible on my desk) and some i want with a keyboard (for live performance or as a main studio controller). but it's so difficult for brands to figure out which one to supply, and it's probably a crazy decision to figure out if they should provide both, or which. not an easy call esp with the chip shortage.

You are missing out on the sound of the ModWave :). And yes, the keyboard is really shitty. By the time I turn to the ModWave it's all about the knobs anyway. I'm still looking around for some convincing examples neurobass on the O6. But the biggest issue I have is the low multitimbral count on all of these units. A couple of voices and you can move to another synth.

That was pleasant to listen to and instructive

FM is actually super computationally efficient, so doesn't use much CPU as default. That's why FM was so attractive to synth designers dipping their toes in Digital synthesis in the 70s and 80s.

Awesome stuff. I recommend trying out using an expression pedal to control CC1 (modwheel) so you free up your hands.

So far I can't change the presets from the hardware device on the plugin. Seems a couple things don't work on the hardware opsix with the plugin. Very frustrating.

thanks for the demonstration. I ask for information: in which folder are the opsix native presets saved? on my mac there is both a preset folder and a user folder but both are empty but the sounds work. Thank you. Louis

Have you ever compared this to the Yamaha Dx reface? Thank you in advance.

I don’t think there’s another option. Would be nice though.

Anyone else having it crash with the latest AMD gpu drivers (Version 22.4.1). Was working a day before I updated :(

Such a shame that the plugin is not a gift to the hardware owners. And I agree, i hope they ditch the keyboard on all three..
