    Love the Jupiter 6. I’m a big fan of Orbital and their old music (like on the Brown Album) uses the Jupiter 6.

    I think this is great for the ones who had the hardware like me, and want the spirit of one in a vst plugin agains, im not sure people who have never owned the actual hardware unit will be that impressed with it, original owners will know all the idiosyncrasies of the original and create sounds the using them. Just my thoughts on people who are dissing it.

      Didn't knew people were dissing it. I've never played with a jup6 before and I really like this soft synth

      I too never owned a Jup6 and was even born a bit after it's initial release. However, I fell in love with the sound of it thank to the audio-only demo Jexus supplied of the Jupiter-6. I also loved the demonstration and mini-documentary of it by Alex Ball. There's just something special about it that it different that its spec-bigger brother: the J-8. Therefore, I purchased a license last night in an attempt to capture some of that magic for my own audio-voyages. I like synths with character. I sense more character out of Mercury-6 than I had when I owned the hardware known as the JP-8080 (which I sold for a guitar).

    Great Synth. Wish all the red lights blinked like on a Hardware Jupiter 6

      That'd be great, although it might be distracting for some

      Good point. I wish I could reduce the blink amplitude on my Moog One. In the night when Im playing the blinking can be distracting. Exellent review as always!

    Another great emulation from cherry audio. do you know if their plugins accept poly after touch or note off velocity natively?

    • @AlexReidStudios
      @AlexReidStudios  Год назад

      honestly I don't know, as I don't have a mpe controller

    • @GillamtheGreatest
      @GillamtheGreatest Год назад +1

      @@AlexReidStudios So after some digging i think most of their synths are both poly AT compatible and mpe compatible. apparently they even have some tricks to make a mono aftertouch keybed simulate poly aftertouch on at least the gx-80

    This is cool, but are any of these sounds that can’t be made, or very closely replicated with Bitwig’s stock synths and effects?

    • @AlexReidStudios
      @AlexReidStudios  Год назад +1

      It's possible to replicate any sound when you use a software with a lot of freedom. The dificult part is analyzing the waveform, envelopes and filter responses present on an analog machine, or in the emulation.

    Where does this rank among other cherry audio vsti's?

    • @AlexReidStudios
      @AlexReidStudios  Год назад +2

      Good question! This is purely my taste and use, but I believe this one is really close to the GX-80, so number 2 or 3 if you believe me that the Mercury 4 is the best haha

      @Alex Reid just listened to the Mercury 4. I'm sold! Sounds so warm and nasty!
