I almost owned a JP-6 three years ago, at a very fair price at a Sam Ash. Someone ended up beating me to it, and I've just had to deal with it since then lol. But with this plugin out now, it definitely fills that void for me. I've had the opportunity to record with an actual JP-6 over at a studio a couple of times. From how I've gotten to know the synth, this plugin definitely nails it pretty well. Of course not the depth the hardware has, but it's great enough to capture the Jupiter sound. They surprisingly come very close, but each with it's own distinctions. That's the way I see it, and I think it's cool. For fun, I MIDI mapped most of the plugin's parameters to my Jupiter-X. It's really awesome to program it like this. Anyone who owns a JP-X should give it a try.
@@Digiphex I had a Jupiter 6 for 20 years, lol, so I know it's mono. Perhaps it's me, but the layer (with pan) reverb and chorus FX on the video sound mono to my ears.
@@MPHORROCKS It is I see what you are saying. I recorded that a different way than I normally do. The intro part is a better example. I will do some more with it and get a good stereo recording.
@@YoungNino2017It would be apples to oranges. Well it is just my personal opinion and you should try the free demo of each, but personally I like the J8 if I could only have one or the other in my life.

0:45 This kind of synthesis has always made me enjoy my ears 😊
Now thats exciting a JUP 6 clone
The TTTE S1-2 Synthesizer
Great review btw
It's ridiculous that you can make offset of each voice's envelope generator as they're digital on the hardware.
Nice video but it sounds like the synth is mono?
The Jupiter 6 was mono but this isn't. It has a L and R channel that if you use pan or effects you will hear the stereo.

The part with the layer was interesting.
7:08 aliasing. You don't get that on the original.
I don't think so. If you use cross mod you will get those types of sounds on the J6.
@@Digiphex I can tell cross mod from aliasing 😉. I have an Europa JP6...
@@juno6 Ahh. I show the patch, make a video on the J6 of this patch and how it behaves. I would like to see that. Let me know the link for it.
@@Digiphex I'm on vacations right now, but I'll try to do it when I come back to my studio in a month or so...
You think it's better than the Tal ? J8 or whatever it's called?
TAL doesn't make a Jupiter 6.
@@Digiphex I'm talking about the one Tal does make, that J8... do you think this is better?
